Bomber Moves 2018

Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up.

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence).

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Say what you will about Mike O'Shea but no one can ever overstate how valuable he has been in turning around the perception and culture of this franchise.

  • TSN1290 reporting that SK offered the most money, but he chose Winnipeg.

I hope that Gause gives Bighill a run for his money. Gause has all the credentials.

I doubt it. Only Hamilton signs big name players to ride the bench.

Walters... in tandem with Rigmaiden most likely made it happen...In any case we sure got better and we should be a force in the West...Sky is the limit and we look very formidable to any offence in this league....Great move

Huge news. This is a day maker. This makes our defense so much better.

I’m happy we don’t have the pieces of garbage Durant and Henoc on our team. That gives us the money to sign him.

I thought 1 year contracts were taboo. Either way, we just became even more serious Grey Cup contenders.

The only issue, I see

#2 QB - experience-wise.
2nd WR starter - experience-wise
LG - how long will Neufeld remains healthy.

On D. we're complete.

No, seriously. Are 2 year contracts just for entry level or rookie players? Can veteran players still sign for 1 year? I just want to know.

Fans, players and of course executives have gotten used to these frantic days in February, when several of the CFL’s most popular players are granted the opportunity to negotiate with other teams and move freely about the country.

Of course, it wasn’t always like this.

Two years ago witnessed drastic change in modern day free agency in the CFL, with the new collective bargaining agreement allowing one-year contracts for veterans

Yes that's right.

Bighill and JSK make a hell of a duo for WIL and MAC.  Hard to see how Wild sticks around.

I thought it might be both flanders and wild actually.

Thanks for clearing that up. It gets confusing at times.

Great signing! Love having an all star quality MLB. Best signing of the offseason IMO and this is an off season that included signing Bowman. Gotta think that we will be able to stop the run this year. Heck, we should be a dominant defence with 11 NI starters and 2 or 3 DI's. Hall should look like a genius.

Could Flanders bring any sort of return in a possible trade? Hell even a meg list player would be great.

Huge!

Unless Richie Hall just uses him to fill gaps Sam Hurl style.

Oh, please God no... Can't stand the thought of that if Ritchie is still left in charge.

We should all thank Darian Durant for making the ultimate sacrifice & retiring so we could sign Bighill. Darian, the ultimate team player. Never thinking of himself. Just what is best for the Bombers. ;)

Blue Bombers projected (by me) 2018 training camp depth chart:

I would think that Clarke has the upper hand over Walker at half for right now but other than that, mostly agreed. I just pray to every deity in existence that Lankford is nowhere near this final roster.

Also, JSK hopefully starts over Wild.

What fantastic news signing Bighill. MLB issues solved. Woo Hoo!!

So we're assuming Wild is gonzo and maybe Nevis if a rookie shows well?
