For shits and giggles and the reminiscing of Nasty Nate in the other thread, I used MBB posting history and ChatGPT to get a Nate style commentary on the season to date. Enjoy folks, all meant for some levity in a frustrating to date season. THE 5–5 FOLLIES: MIKE O’SAME AND THE BLUE BOMBER MUSEUM Ladies, gentlemen, hobos, rounders and prairie plutzkies…your 2026 Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 5–5, which is a PERFECT record if the objective is to be neither good nor bad enough to force anybody in management to do something. These Bombers are a football slot machine. Pull the handle and maybe you get a half of competent football…maybe you get 377 rushing yards surrendered to B.C.…maybe you get a 16–0 lead in Edmonton followed by three points and 35 yards of offence in the second half. Nobody knows! Least of all the fellows being paid to know. After every fresh disaster, out strolls head coach Mike O’Same, president and founder of S.A.M.E.—Stand Around, Mutter Excuses. Mikey surveys the smoking crater and announces that the fellas simply needed to make two or three more plays. Brilliant! The Hindenburg merely needed a couple more buckets of water. Meanwhile general manager Kyle Waiters, also known as the Duke of Stand-Pat, watches every other CFL club bring in receivers, defensive backs and pass rushers while Winnipeg guards its practice roster like it contains the lost treasures of King Solomon. Weak receiver room? Wait. Confused secondary? Wait. Ancient offensive line creaking like a haunted hotel? WAIT HARDER. Eventually another team will accidentally release an all-star directly into Kyle’s office. Then we have offensive coordinator Tommy Con-Dull, architect of the CFL’s last-place red-zone operation. Give Brady O-FEED-ME-ra the football and he bulldozes Edmonton for more than 100 yards before halftime. Naturally, Con-Dull responds by hiding Brady in the second half like he owes the coaching staff money. Why use your best offensive player when you can have Zach Colla-Rust fling another hopeful balloon toward a receiver moving with the speed of a refrigerator being dragged through wet cement? On defence, coordinator Jordan Yawner has installed his famous Prevent-Us-From-Winning scheme. Rush three, rotate seventeen defenders, place the defensive backs somewhere near Brandon and graciously concede the seven-yard completion. The opposition needs eight yards? Give them twelve. Need to protect field-goal range? Back everybody onto Portage Avenue. Watching this defence communicate before the snap is like watching six tourists assemble furniture without the instructions. The crazy part is there are still some genuine ballplayers trapped inside this travelling carnival. Brady remains the engine. Trey Va-VOOM is one of the most dangerous returners in the country. Willie Sackerson and Jake Sack-resna can still wreck an offensive line. Nic Demski continues to fight. But individual talent cannot overcome an organization that treats adjustment like an admission of guilt. Now the 9–1 Montreal Alouettes come marching into town. Mike O’Same will tell us the room is confident. Kyle Waiters will continue waiting. Jordan Yawner will station the secondary in St. Boniface. Tommy Con-Dull will discover a new method of reaching the four-yard line and emerging with three points. The prescription is painfully simple: FEED BRADY until the other club proves it can stop him. Play the best players—not the fellows with the longest service pins. Attack on defence instead of operating a government-funded receiver-relocation program. Bring in actual competition before the season becomes an archaeological exhibit. If the same problems keep producing the same losses…CHANGE SOMETHING. The dynasty is gone, folks. What remains is a 5–5 club living off the fumes of what it used to be, driven by coaches who appear convinced that stubbornness is a substitute for adjustment. But don’t worry. Mike O’Same says they’re only a couple plays away. Prolly.

I see it the other way but this is probably why i’m not a NHL GM. Chevy is in the drivers seat. Play Skinner et al till a suitable deal is presented to our GM even if the L’s accumulate quickly early in the season. Helle signed a contract with the Winnipeg Jets under no duress. He is obligated to fulfill the terms of that contract. If he is not willing to do that then he can stay at home till the contract runs its course or until the Jets can find a suitable tailor that fulfills our needs. If we trade him away under duress and don’t get fair value back that will be a big kick in the balls.

I don't know. Nichols is one of the worst DB's in the league by performance this season. If he can't go, they can put Texada on up to 1 hour before kickoff. Vaval probably gets more reps. Not sure if they'd kick Williams to half and use Texada at corner or use Texada at half. But a little change in the secondary could be a great spark. Was what turned a good defense into a great one in 2019. Friendly reminder to Bomber nation that our GM traded the pick (9th) that is Tyson Philpot (1600 yard/18 game receiver in the past 3 seasons) to Montreal with the 18th pick for the 13th pick (Tyrell Ford, one season as a starter for us, then wouldn't pay) and Cam Lawson.....another draft day oopsie.

I for one am glad we aren't making changes at receiver. Also, can someone remind me how many points we get in the standings for the "process" and the "small details"?

Not that I was really expecting any changes but ... one can always hope. In all seriousness though our Secondary is going to be in a world of hurt if Nichols can't go and we have any sort of injury issues in game. As is .. it's pretty gross.

Condell is such a loser my god. There’s no shame in either A) keeping your mouth closed or B) having some humility. Sure we’re not 2005 Tee Martin bad but I find it hard pressed to watch the footage and say wow im really happy with how things are running. I don’t care if you’re the 2007 Patriots as a coach you should always be looking for ways to improve. Not make excuses, and then double down and be wrong like a moron. Time for a culture change.the cancer is too far gone to be treatable.

Yeah..7 wins is ultra positive thinking if we just stay the course...not good enough for 3rd..and no team with less than 8 wins has gained the crossover in well over a decade..if not longer..

That individual was 76 when they passed and Nate would be about 67 according to the 2024 article I linked. Yes, Collaros is older than he used to be. We all are & as we age our athletic skills erode. When was the last time Collaros had a skilled complete set of receivers to throw to? When was the last time our OL was dominant? When was the last time we had a competent OC? It's been years like 2021 when we last won a Grey Cup. Walters did a terrible job keeping this team replenished with star players like we had briefly for 3 or 4 seasons. Instead, Walters was too busy cheaping out the younger players who should have stayed to pay the aging old veterans & is still doing the same today. When Osh had a great team then he became a great coach because talent really coaches itself despite the shitty decisions Osh made. Give Osh a bad team to coach & the results are the opposite. **** players can't coach themselves. Combine that with Osh traits like crazy roster decisions like dressing 10 linebackers, stupidity, stubborness & we have what we have. A team spiralling down.

The long game plan to the next Canadian franchise always starts with getting Atlanta a team first... Last a decade and move north.

Here’s how i would respond. Thanks, sorry to hear this. A resolution coming soon will totally be dependent on getting fair market value back from another suitor. On our end we will do our very best to accommodate but can’t give a definite timeline as what other teams do and offer is out of our control at the end of the day. 'We took a step back today, for sure. Now it didn't help that (insert name of player or players) was playing/ got hurt and a couple of bad breaks here, a couple of calls that didn't go our way that really set the tone of this game but that's no excuse. If the mix of thumpings and heartbreaking collapses isn't enough to evoke change, I don't know why a singular blow-out loss to the best team in the league would. I think the earliest event that could cause a serious discussion for the upper brass here is if we lose back-to-back in the LDC/BJB, or if attendance really dips in the Toronto home game right after the BJB. That said, I think we only stand an ok chance of winning 1 of the next 5 games. Which would put us at 6-9 with 3 games to go, likely needing to either get a lot of help while winning 2 games or needing to win out to cross over. I don't see Edmonton resting starters in the 2nd-to-last week of the season the way they are fighting Sask. And short of catastrophe, Calgary and bc will be battling for the playoffs in weeks 19 and 21 as well. No free wins the rest of the way. Except maybe edmonton and montreal vs us.

SPECIAL TEAMS!111111 lol But why 2 DI lbers, 3 if you include Woodbey. And Woodbey has not picked up where he left off last year in terms of coverage, even pre injury. Why do we feel the need to preserve the energy of starters by having soo many dedicated Teams players, and rotate some positions like DL, but refuse to carry a capable back up cover man, or pass catcher.

Nasty could be a 'nasty ' piece of work alright...I think he drifted on to every CFL board that he could post on...I'll give him some kudos for being a straight shooter but it bordered on discrimination at times...He operated a book store on Osborne at one time....might be still...don't know...Any way he did luv' the CFL and one of his quotes still make me smile...He was talking about Bomber management of the time when someone asked him about a certain manager....The question was what is this guys actual title...Nasty replied ..'he's the vice president of standing around'...still have to smile about that one

He was given lots of latitude, and if he was able to show any restraint, he would have been okay. A combination of posting so much that his posts dominated the board, which was turning off too many other posters. Its a message board, not a personal blog. And the nicknames / insults got to be too much and too demeaning.

not shocked...Totally expected this sad lineup...nary a change...so nary a change in the results sadly Maybe the process has finally been refined in game 12 and we whoop em....ya right Hazen should be replaced already with Texada so if Nichols "seems" good to go but is hampered and getting owned bad from it...or hurt again we actually have a lil coverage And If Nichols cant go then perfect opp to add say Singer in his spot, so that Vaval can get some reps as the dime/extra db and also be some kind of coverage to Texada if he is the determined replacement and getting beat like a Dave Donaldson and shoulder some returning duties if Vaval is a lil weary from a long defensive stand. From what Vav;s showed he should be the next man up anyway and with MTL receivers is prob one the only guys we have who can actually man up and keep with them, and allows us a chance to see what Singer can do on offence and returns...but nope Brain dead doesnt even start to describe our coach now really...

My take is that seeing as Osh has no real background or ability with the X and O part of offence that he says nothing and does nothing about the poor performance/scheme...player ability and just lets it flounder...He has no ability to step in or step up and do anything about it Winning in spite of...we cant do that on a consistent level now as we aged out...and neglected talent...and we insist on being ok playing inferior talent cause I guess the HC likes them...as I cant see any other reason why we doing what we doing

You're missing the point. Yes Smith worked his way to the top. But had he stopped playing after last year (For reasons that do not include the team moving on from him)...you would have been talking about how he wasn't good enough to become anything...and as we see now, that is not the case. Players stop playing for multiple reasons...not just because they aren't good enough. So when a guy on our bench doesn't appear anywhere else in the league and we wonder why...the answer isn't automatically "he's not good enough to play".

Honestly, the O isn't bad. You don't put up 300+ yards in 30 minutes if your bad. That 2nd half was once again all on the play calling. RB has over 100 yards from scrimmage and then you just refuse to use him again? Or the 2 times you do, it's predictable. Condell has been a complete bust this year, at least with Hogan he had the excuse of being a rookie OC who could get better. Condell is too experienced to be making the choices he is, and to be getting completely out classed game in and game out.

This notion that Smith is being held back is a completely false narrative. He is a second year guy who is gradually and consistently seeing more and more playing time. I agree, he is progressing exactly as one would expect.

maybe our coaching is horrible, and we aren't able to get most outta a guy...Christ we cant get most outta some vets...it's pretty obvious just with in game stuff where we get our lunch stole pretty much every game...That has nothing to do with the G.M...Is Walter's wearing the headset and making the decisions?...Is he seeing the tape in game and making some coaching decisions to stem the bleeding...or questioning the assistants? Did Walter's construct the poor allocation of his assets for game day roster's and give us not the best game lineup?....Does Walters decide to dress at times sometimes 2 DA's which serve pretty much no purpose for rotational depth...let alone adequate backup....Nope....if you cant see the coaching issues, I guess nothing is gonna happen to get you to see it...Osh himself isnt looking at in the moment game fim to see the problems and doing things to counter it. My opinion on that is cause he doesnt know diddly as to how...He even has said he doesnt really know the X and O aspect of a lot of stuff. After 14 yrs what the eff he been doing to make himself, and by extension his team better....Nothing. I also know for a fact after Woli's first contract was coming due he was outta here due to the way Osh coaches....but was talked out of it by some vet players...There are several poster's here as well I know can corroborate that as well if some certain poster's are gonna again attack peoples credibility.....And that specific case isnt isolated...Say what you want about Walter's and the coddling you give Osh, but just cause media says one thing....or guys will tow line in public...dont take it for gospel
