    Big Stan back https://3downnation.com/2026/01/26/winnipeg-blue-bombers-re-sign-future-hall-of-fame-blocker-stanley-bryant/
  2. At this point, I think we've brought back the right vets and released/not signed the right players... looking at our list of FAs, there aren't any more "must signs" on the list... Makonzo is an intriguing player that I would like to actually see play... but other than him, no one on that list needs to be back
  3. yeah...was a mere formality I think of holdovers from last yr....we need not sign any of the rest now who are FA's.....Tho I would like to see Woods back and allowed to compete as he was by no means inadequate...but a victim of what went on here...let him battle with new signings we recruited an any FA we grab

IMO Johnson and Mack are the top 2 and then there's quite a drop off. Arguably a huge drop off from Johnson to Mack too. Johnson is a guy just hitting his prime, legit #1 target. Most of the rest are guys who are in decline. Some guys coming off injuries who might bounce back, like Bane. Could be useful depth but basically have a better version already in Wilson. Robustelli and Nield you could probably get at a decent number. Some upside there especially with the type of offense Collaros runs. Need the big bodies that can both find the chains and win a vertical route. If we had Demski, Nield, Clercius for Canadians, plus other depth/draft pick. Wilson, Mack, Robustelli, rookies/reclamation project for Americans....I'd be good with that. Think you can build a solid offense with that. I'd be in the hunt for Johnson, Mack, Robustelli, Nield, think about Brissett if he's willing to leave the GTA (doubt it), Rambo, consider bringing back Stearns as he developed some chemistry with Collaros. Wheatfall walks. Schoen I'd keep the line open but he's not going to be able to play until the fall if that.

As it stands Mack is the biggest game breaker/upside guy available.. White is the best multi use guy currently available..you know what yiur gonna get and its top tier As both are free we should have Condell in whites ear now and present Mack with a appealing deal as well and lock them up before FA even starts..and they can both easily be incorporated into our sms Wilson.. White..Mack with Demski and Clercius gives us a real nice group and one that covers a lot of metrics you can really take advantage of with the solid ground game we have No reason why we can't get that done before Feb FA period opens

I like the Stan signing. What's the worst case with him, one of our young american tackles proves better and Stan ends up on the 6 game for cap savings and acts as the vet mentor and an extra Oline coach?
  7. 5 points
A real sleeper out there is Ayden Eberhardt...not spectacular ...just as dependable as Demski...I can't remember him dropping one in 25'...Certainly worth a look

I do like Sterns as a back end of the roster guy. Tough blocker, all-around good wr. I'd love to have him back as long as he isn't pencilled into a starting job going into camp.

There’s another guy in Montreal I would like us to take a chance on that we wouldn’t have to break the bank and that’s Charleston Rambo. Only 26 years old and had nearly 900 receiving yards as a rookie.

Yeah, hammy last year, ankle the year before (also missed part of that season being in the NFL). Was healthy as a rookie in 2023 (played 17 games) and did really well.
  12. 4 points
What a fool. This hurts the CFL so much. You are so frustrating, it's beyond words. You argue about everything. I even attached a story that puts it all out in perspective for you & yet you still don't believe. In 2025, $412000 went to salaries. Now another $218000 is going to salaries for the 2026 season. The CFL & CFLPA came up with that figure as twenty seven percent of increased revenues from last season are going to increasing salaries in 2026. The revenue for salaries is being divided among the 9 teams. I have no idea how much went to pensions etc. Nobody cares but the players. The salary increases are quite clear. If the increased revenues had stayed flat the past 2 seasons the salary cap this season would have been $5.75 million. For 2026, the salary cap is set at close to $6.3 million which is almost $600,000 higher. Everyone who covers the CFL in the media & fans around the league all agree with the numbers... but you. Guess what? I'm not being drawn into this any further as there is no point. Go die by yourself on that hill you love to defend, alone.

I really like Robestelli's upside. I think he's a gamer and would fit in nicely.

The only option we have is to build out our wr core with high-quality via free agency. Id rather gamble on a guy who has had flukie injuries but can be elite, vs gambling on guys like last year that might be able to play even when healthy.
  16. 2 points
Mack would be a huge add. Maybe a heavily incentive/bonus based contract due to his injury history.
  17. 2 points
I like Mack as well. But he's been injured in every season he's played. Not sure the Bombers have many options though.
  18. 2 points
I think it was a nagging hamstring issue... hopefully he can get that sorted out because he can be elite... I'd love to see the Bombers bring him in

It's incredible to me that you insist others "look things up" yet still be so confidently wrong. The $412K and change increase from last year went directly to salary expenditures (salary and bonuses). It explicitly excludes pre / post season compensation, per diems, pension payments and the 6-game injured list.

He is somewhere between a cheap politician and a used car salesman. Tsn must have been laughing, getting rid of him and dumping him on us. The Sms and the Ops cap should be linked equally to revenue. One increases, the other should go up. It doesn't need to be dollar-for-dollar, but it needs to be linked to league growth. If you take the 2 lowest paid HCs in d1 football, I bet they combine to make more than one teams ops cap now. 133 schools obliterating coaching pay up here, and probably every single one pays their COs more than any cfl front office type makes.
  24. 2 points
I'd be ok bringing Sterns back at a reasonable cap hit. Schoen too i guess but only if its a base salary with incentives. Other than that i'd like to see Walters sign 1 or 2 proven game changers.

It's the clock. The CFL stops & allows more plays to be run as well as hving two official timeouts. In the NFL, the clock will continue to run if you stay inbounds. All you have is 2 (or is tt?) 3 timeouts to stop the clock. That's why NFL teams walk off the field down by 9 with 30 seconds left. Game over. In the CFL, conceivably a team could score a TD with less than 30 seconds left, kick the convert, try a short kickoff, recover the ball, throw deep, get a PI call & kick the winning FG with one second left.

Mack is a big game performer, and Keeshaun would be a great pair of signings Why would I apologize? To S27 who has been acting like a 12 year old all offseason? To Mike who only shows up here a couple times a month, not to discuss football, but to do drive bys on members who actually contribute to the football conversation? No thanks. I admitted I was wrong, but im not going to apologize because KW fed us misinformation. I trusted his explanation for not spending the extra SMS in FA last year. That was a mistake. I should have known better considering it appears he decided not to fo his job last year.

Rambo is a bit of a gamble, but a big value upside. I love his upside, and the production he's had for a while with 2 seasons of play at 26 is fantastic. Also hes been very reliable with games played. Haven't they cut him like twice already? Off-season bonuses are a horrible trap for players. Idk why guys still take them.

Dunk says 3 teams are interested in White... he didn't name which teams. I'm just hoping we sign a guy who is healthy and isn't a walking band aid. I'm ok with steady and reliable receiver. Doesn't have to be the best but someone who can easily get 800+ yards.

Sounds like Hardy re-signed in Ottawa unfortunately. Rhymes would fit the need for a big outside receiver. I like what I've seen from Robustelli from Sask too. He could be ready to break out. Mack now available too https://3downnation.com/2026/01/26/montreal-alouettes-release-all-cfl-receiver-austin-mack-prior-to-offseason-bonus/

Screw the Pats. They should have been banned from the Super Bowl for another 50 years. At least they flushed out the ghost of Bill "Chuckles" Belichek.... I'll be cheering for the seahawks in 2 weeks as my family live in Seattle. Hope that Sam Darnold can go eff you to Kevin McConnell & the Vikings. You got your man, JJ McCarthy. Good luck with that. The Seahawks thank you.
  44. I consider him a longshot as well. I mean realistically only a few guys a years from the 30 or so new guys we bring to camp make it.

That tracks, basically everything he says and does is the opposite of reality.
  46. absolutely. it is. but you bring in 15-20 guys like this each camp and the ones who don’t cut it are first gone and gone in rookie camp. Football is so intensely dependant on raw athleticism and talent, if you can add or develop one strong intangible like football iq, motor, etc you have a quick riser. I mean this is why college teams are always all over track/basketball practices. very true. and the reality of falling out of the nfl window is a big learning opportunity. those guys always believe that their talent/athleticism will carry to a shot and they will win a spot. even though the reality is very different. Realizing that and facing the end of a career they thought would carry them can bring out a different animal.
  47. Different athletes mature at differnt rates, so if the measureables are there, some may be worth a look-see.
  48. it’s pretty common in the cfl now to bring guys like this into camp. underachieving 4star or higher guys. If they adjust in camp to the canadian game it’s a very good chance you have a high end contributor. if they don’t they are easy cuts. The raw talent and athleticism helps raise the bar in drills for camp as well
  49. Bogle is an interesting one. Highly recruited, unanimous 4-star recruit out of HS. Played a couple of years at Florida, then moved to Michigan State. Never became a regular starter or lived up to his potential out of HS. Very good athleticism and build, stronger than his weight would suggest, he's extremely lean, twitchy, good get off, has an excellent spin move, and a good motor. Boyd is similar. Polished, good frame that could hold more weight, excellent top-end speed, 3-star kid with polish who struggled to find a spot till his last year. Battle is pretty much the opposite. Instantly stepped in and started at the corner for NC state. tremendous size, mediocre measurables, but his speed plays better on the field than it tests. Quick twitchy, explosive type. Physical, very aggressive press corner type. Struggled more in zone, but his aggression is also going to be tough in man cover. Could be penalty-prone in any pro league. I think his wheels play much better in the CFL, and his fit could be good with JYs system if he can adjust. Played a ton of snaps, like 2400. If he can reign in his aggression and fit in with the system, he could be a very high-floor guy. Mayes has an interesting build for a wr, almost closer to a rbs build. Doesn't have great measurables, but a good track and basketball guy in Hs. Looks to have good hands. His qb, Ridder, was on our NL for a good while. They've seen a lot of him. He's got good polish, shifty runner. Whenever I see guys at WR in that 6' and under, 200 and under range, I wonder if they have been over looked alot for not jumping off the stat sheet, or if they are an overachiever. Mayes hands and polish make me think he's the overlooked type. I wonder if they view him as a slot back. If he can master the waggle, he could go far up here, very quickly.
