  2. Hello Everyone Congrats to Atomic, who won the first contest. Since we have a lot of the season left, we will do a second contest. Same rules as first except if we get to the end of the regular season and we still have people left. We will take all the contestants with the lowest number of strikes, and they will advance to the playoffs. Playoff will be a single strike elimination, so if you're wrong, you're out; correct, and you move on. If we still have people left after Grey Cup tie breaker will be contestant with most different correct answers from this week to the end of the year. Place Picks Below

  3. Richie Hall era D was also all time great at turning ball over.

  4. Bomber loss aside, it was a ridiculously entertaining weekend for the CFL. Four games decided by a total of nine points, all of them undecided until late in the fourth quarter. just the perfect mix of scrambly and dramatic. liked seeing Dru Brown and Rourke playing clutch in a league that really needs the next generation of QBs to step up. love this league.

  5. Kenny is playing great but the hindsight here is crazy right now. No one here wanted to pay him $300K back in the offseason.

  6. this is definitely not aging well... Montreal made the tough (but correct) choice in moving on from a GC MVP to go with the younger, higher up-side QB... we had a chance to do that after 2023... and decided to stick with the (potentially) washed up vet... I understood the Dalton vs Kenny gamble in the off-season... but this is also not aging well...

  7. I dont think Wade goes anywhere. Bleeds Blue and Gold. Winnipegger through and through.

  8. That's a fair assessment. At every level from management down to players, we are underperforming.. No team can win like that. Too many big plays surrendered to be suggesting our D is playing good

  9. And even now, seeing what he's done, I still couldn't justify paying $300K to a non-quarterback. The bigger issue is how we struck out on every other receiver we brought into camp and mortgaged the future on a (great) receiver coming back off injury and the hope that Ontaria Wilson wouldn't make it to / through camp. You can't bleed talent and expect to compete well. Truthfully, it doesn't matter who we have behind centre right now. There are so many issues on this team (from coaching, to receivers to offensive line) that nobody has a real chance to be successful.

  11. Sep. 27th looks like a virtual sellout already as well. The last Sask game looks easily do-able. Only question mark will be the final game...if it matters in the standings I bet we sellout the entire season. Can you imagine the hype for a home Grey Cup game if we were actually good? The offseason and performance of the team so far coinciding with this level of fan enthusiasm in a Grey Cup year feels like an all time fumble.

  13. So our options for 2026 are what: A declining Collaros at potentially high QB 1 $ Streveler who is limited as a passer and potentially no longer has the mobility he once had A youngster like Powell Older vet such as MBT or Fajardo I mean if it was me I'd go Powell because I like potential and upside.

  14. Indeed .. Bonds’ play has sure dropped off. Opportunity for someone to take that spot and never give it back. Bonds out for season per Schnitzer

  15. I’d sign Houston lol I don’t care

  16. Wasn’t his charges dropped? Also weren’t you just complaining the bombers didn’t pick up Anthony Bennet or Habba? I’d take a flyer on Houston. I don’t think he’s outstanding or anything but he’s more then serviceable in a pinch and if guys like Kelly and Lemon get a second chance I think he deserves one as well.

  19. I get the point you’re trying to make, but that’s pretty creative math. If you start from the 2023 Grey Cup, we’re 16-13 playoffs inclusive.

  24. It may be a non-issue but for free agents looking to sign somewhere, a coaching staff & management regime not under contract isn't the most attractive place to land.

  25. 100% this... There's so much hindsight involved. Absolutely the risk backfired in the worst possible way, but at the time....... I don't fault management at all for the decision th y made at the time. To a lesser degree, I feel the same way about Dru Brown. Coming off the 2022 season, you were never not going to keep Collaros. He was murdering teams and still relatively young in QB terms.

  27. 300 and 327 yards passing, 28 and 31 points, several explosive passing plays, is our defence really showing a marked improvement? The past two, we've been good for a quarter (Calgary) or a half (Toronto) and then seem to have issues.

  28. I know you are exaggerating to make a point, but there is ample proof that O'Shea has been playing favourites to the detriment of the team. That said, there seems to be a dearth of talent on this edition and a good deal of that blame lies elsewhere. Plenty of blame- enough to go around.

  29. I mean those pieces aren't going to make them better, but yea, we need to be way more active.

  31. he wont be like that in 2026 tho....may even be much better late this yr.....Everyone thinks he is what he is post surgery and thats not the case...especially 11 months removed....Judgment cant really be passed until a full camp next yr....actual weapons to throw to...and an OC that has half a brain.....ZC not so much tho...we have seen his slide now for 3 yrs...and he aint getting younger
    1 point
  32. ouch we know how this team works tho...a vet if signed before the season is basically locked up...also gauranteed to be starting in said position...I think if we can get assets for him this yr that will help us this yr...and next...we take that shot...especially if we are wallowing in 4th place yeah...I think we are stuck in a bad spot to be honest.....very bad foresight 2 yrs ago

  33. THATS what I said...Walters is involved in the National scouting...ie....Canadian draft G.M's dont build the roster...they bring in the players but DONT tell HC who to cut/retain....if thats happening your in real trouble as a franchise. So how is it telling y=that Osh keeps guysyr after yr rather than replacing them...If it's tellung anything it's saying Osh isnt held accountable to a certain degree Fact of the matter from HC up we been bumbling and stumbling and that combo has been a huge reason of our erosion and total lack of deoth and top line talent...and usually more times than not the HC is expunged before anyone.....or they clean house top to bottom....I think we need to change one of the pieces and see if that changes things for the better first....then go from there

  34. There have been no numbers released on Collaros's contract for next year. Seeing as he's finishing up a 3 year deal where he made 600k per year, its hard to see it being lower than that. Given his play last season and this season, that is too high. Given what other QBs (Adams, Harris, Brown, Mitchell) are making its way to high. If he got down to 450k, that would be in line with Adams and Harris but truthfully, a little too high imo. If its for 375k like Mitchell is making this year, I'd be more ok with it. My speculation is that his 2026 salary is for 600k though.

  35. They were 2-6 last year. 4-4 isn't the worst. Lots of work to do, but they haven't played their best ball yet. You're all living in CFL Fantasy football land if think Collaros is going anywhere at this point in the season. I swear most of you forget who is running this team even while complaining about them. I'd bet 5 years salary Collaros is a Blue Bomber on Dec 1st. All this talk about his contract next year, but anyone have any actual numbers on it? Any kind of guaranteed money? I know these questions don't fit the "His contract is too big narrative" but I've yet to hear what his extension was for.

  37. We're navel gazing on the 35th roster spot when spots 1-30 are getting killed every week aside from our kickers and a couple DB's.

  38. You could say our recent WR drafting record has us...Jaded?

  39. yeah if there was ever a player convert that makes sense it's that one....guy could be that valuable sub who if anything could be extra oline guy....short yardage guy for offense and defense....perfect size for a center and has way more athleticism than Kolo.....as well as way more upside
    1 point
  40. That would be good. Schmeck would have a bright future on the OL imo. I like Vibert; he's raw, though, needs polish. Idk how you can be worse than Kola, though.

  41. Streveler has heart and that puts him above Zach. Old Zach and his cool calm no emotion demeanor was ok as he got the job done. New Zach's brooding no emotion demeanor means little based on performance. Chris is a hype guy and lifts the people around him. Once he's fully 100% I believe he'll compete. Us armchair coaches don't know the full extent of what a player is playing through. I'd rather an upbeat amp'd up guy that gives it his all versus a guy that quietly doesn't accomplish much.
    1 point
  42. to be honest over the course of his starts he averages about 209 yards...not stellar by any means but not as bad as you make it out.....and as for his running....I wouldn't judge that until next yr as he is just a yr removed from a knee reebuild...an injury 1000's of guys come back from, but as mentioned here by others, and from first hand experience it 90% of times takes a good full yr to actually get back to where you were before injury. and that injury too sits in your head until you finally realize you are 100 percent....so writing him totally off at this point is not warramted....it definitely effects his pocket presence as well and self preservation.... Next yr tho we are tied to ZC....and then just rookies and no experience guys barring any trade, so let ZC...Strev and whomever else is here battle it out in a full on open competition for the starter, and then sort it out who is the best...we may unfortunately be in the deep woods wandering for a yr our 2 at the position and on offence as a whole, so smart forward thinking would be to shoring up this yrs defense as best we can ...figure out and find who our best players are...with no bias involved be it tenure...nationality or type of glue they apparently bring and hope we can ride them as the backbone and still be successful while we sort out offence last several seasons he has had a lot of sub 200 yard games as well...and looked horrible in the process...has thrown double digit int's 4 of last 6 yrs and well on his way to 5 in last 7.....pro's and con's on all sides of our QB situation We effed up not retaining Brown and rolling with guys from the 2 cup urs at several spots as Osh still lived in past and considered them these unreal best of the best....no forward thinking If we kept Brown....and also had Strev and a coaching team and co-ordinator to create something to compliment their styes...and ut pretty similar really, as both work well in a roll out and srint offence....we would be light yrs ahead where we are ow, and good cgance Strev would have actually been developed more and not beat to a pulp and forced into a system not suited to him
    1 point
  43. I think the only chance of Zach getting a trade is if someone else gets a season ending injury and they are desperate for a vet.
    1 point
  44. I don’t think any one would give up any asset for zach. Especially not on that deal and with a year next year on the books. Any team that would want him would wait it out for him to be released.

  45. No Kelly was in from the start. Bonds didn't go down until right before half. They were essentially playing two deep safeties to shake up VA and try to negate the explosives. They had Griffin playing more LB style SAM than DB style. Worked for a quarter until they started running single verticals and posts at Kelly's side as an adjustment.
