  1. Someone needs to answer publicly for that, I think there needs to be an explanation given as to why we sunk 160k (lots upfront) into a receiver that we aren’t even considering using

  2. Sure, but the roster is a pretty big part of just ******* winning.

  3. we have 18 lb/db's rostered...thats over 2/3rds of the gane day roster...thats insane and bizzare

  5. At least the staff are making roster change choices instead of 'standing pat'. I am good with it... even if it means working though the players until the mix works. This shows growth, and a willingness to adapt. We may not be happy with some of the changes - but at least it is a move in the right direction!

  6. I'd much rather Cam Allen on given the D we play with all the DB's. Why do you need Wilson, Jones x2, Ayers (yeah special teams) when the majority of snaps for the D you have one true LB on the field, 2 if they are in 30 front which they've used less since Person has been on? Cam Allen 6'1 200 pounds. Play him at dime, play him at boundary corner where Bonds is getting absolutely exposed week after week, play him as a 2 high safety, push Parker down into SAM sometimes. I bet Argos pick on Bonds and Parker in this game.

  7. At this point, I don't see why they just don't release Mitchell and admit they made a error with that signing.

  8. I like most of the changes on D. Griffen at SAM, Parker at CB, J.Jones on. Not sure on Kramdi at S. He can hit but isn't the knock that his coverage skills can be lacking? Still I'm excited to see how this D looks. The offense on paper is very underwhelming. I'll echo the comments on why are we keeping Mitchell if he can't get on the roster now. I also don't see the point of adding Cooley, Peterson was fine. I mean, why not add Mitchell, don't add Cooley, take off Ball (what is the point of another ster?) and keep Peterson.

  9. Someone wrap Demski in bubble wrap. By my count the rest of the receivers have about half of his career receptions when you combine them all together.. and half of those are Sterns

  12. If you had 2019 Streveler at QB...giddy up. The fact that he can't change direction anymore and can't reach top speed makes a run heavy, RPO style game a true grind...not just on the D but on him. I think Corcoran can play. Going from the receiving corps we have had to just Wheatfall and Sterns on as Americans is pure insanity. I don't read much into depth chart positions on D. Will be interesting to see how they deploy the bodies. Parker moving to corner had to happen. To take 1/3 of a season to realize Bridges is not a CFL player and Parker is terrible at safety....hmm. Again...Vaval...what a goddamn fail that we keep running this guy out. Costs us points and dozes of yards of field position on a weekly basis. Put someone in there that knows how to catch a punt and at least break even. I bet Cobb ends the game as returner.

  13. They are making changes and that is what everyone wanted Offense looks really weak after the injuries and changes but sure seems like they'll go with a strong ground game and aren't being shy about it.

  14. Well, I am surprised.....on paper the defence looks good...glad teh Parker at safety experiment is finished...all things I have heard is that Kramdi is a very smart x/o guy....I am hoping this leads to improved communication. I think Griffen will look really good. Not sure in J.Jones will see many reps but I feel if he does he may be really hard to keep off....I liked what the d-line did with some more rotation, would like to see them build on last week.... On offence....yikes....let's hope Loften is ready.....interesting that Cooley came on...unless he was "potentially being scooped" of the PR this is an interesting move.....We seem to have two really good possession guys in Corcoran and Clercious, but Stearns, Demski and Wheetfall are IMO not number 1 targets......so, an underwhelming group overall.....Kinda unfortunate Strev. didn't get "real reps" due to air quality....OK so what did Mitchel do...or not do...yikes something going on there.....Let's just let Brady and possibly Cooley eat......

  15. Am I wrong or is Corcoran a guy with good hands, not great speed, solid possession receiver?

  16. hey a win is a win...scratch and bite if we have to...I think the defense now ho may actually take games over with the talent now all on....Makonzo for Ball soon I hope....Maybe Woods for Ayers and we could be cooking kinda agree...not gonna scare anyone and be a big play threat and we already have a Clercius who is the same kinda guy...so a bit redundant but I guess when u have no depth...and choose to not even try a guy who has been impactful before thats what you get...Corcorran has shown he can catch As long as he is able to stay high and read whats going on...be over the top help and not bite on fake runs he may be alright there....He was killing us in coverage before, and tackling in space....so play smart...crash down when needed (which he does well) could be his calling there

  17. That's a spicy meatball! More change than I was expecting. Kramdi to S, I like this idea. He's a downhill guy, not a strong man-to-man cover guy. The question will be if his instincts to get into positions to make plays translates to S, and if he will continue to struggle to finish plays. Boom or bust guy at S. Either he's going to put fear into WRs and make a bunch of plays on the ball or he's gonna fail to pick up deep guys. I find Griffin to Sam and Parker to cornerback, odd. Parker was very good at sam here in the past, and Griffin is very good at picking up and carrying guys deep. I like the switch. Griffin should excel in most positions. Idk about Parker on the corner. I think he is a couple of games from running out of leash. Vaval, still, the DI KR is odd. Especially with Cobb on the roster. I like the guy, but he's drowning. He needs to sit imo. Happy Jones is on, but I don't think he will see a single defensive snap. He should get some blitz plays, though, and passing situation plays especially. 7 lbers with ayers, 4 of whom are NI, for 2 spots. That is an egregiously bad use of roster flexibility. Boy, that WR core is UGLY. Lofton at LT worries me, especially since its his first game in week 9. I like Cooley, but boy, I don't feel like Hogan will use him well. Glad Chase is in, and Zach is sitting. I'm optimistic for the D, and intrigued. I'm worried about how much of our imp roster flexibility is tied up in a few spots that won't see D/O reps. I'm really worried about the WR core, OL, and Depth. I think Corcoran at least has a chance to do something. I really worry, though, that we will continue to run flood concepts under the secondary, and the whole WR group is SLOW af. If the opposition secondary is going to be faster, they can't get gifted leverage. I'm worried the Argos will just be running downhill, making plays on our WRs/the ball.

  19. The offense looks like a gross mess. I do love the defensive changes, I think.

  20. Wow, Still no.Mitchell with Kramdl in at safety look to Arbuckle Coxie going deep..often For those of us wanting roster changes here we are. Really highlights our lack of depth at several positions ie receiver, db and dline

  21. Maybe Mitchell, Vaval, and Cooley share the return duties. As long as no linebackers were impacted by the moves. 🤣

Just ridiculous that Bridges got 6 games before being yanked. Everyone saw that being a bad move in preseason.

  24. Saturday is supposed to be a bit better. I wonder when we'll start hearing updates from the club or league. Hopefully fans are kept more informed than Riders fans were a couple of weeks ago.

  25. That’s great and all but your roster, its makeup and how they’re deployed on game day go a long way to making that happen. Next man up is a great idea until that next man is nothing more than a career pylon.

  26. Tevin Jones is kind of the exact player we need. Just kind of a reliable, do everything kind of receiver. Like Bailey who we never replaced. IMO Rhymes is no better than Wheatfall at this stage, kind of just good at one thing, struggles in short-intermediate to be productive.

  28. I feel like we are getting to make or break time with Strevy as well. It's not exactly a fair situation for him, but it never really is at QB. Zach is banged up again this year, and his stats are heavily padded based off 1 game vs Edm. Take that game away, and in 5 starts Zach has: 69% completion, 687 passing yards for 137 per game, 7.3 yards per attempt, with 4 passing tds, and 8 picks. 8 picks on 96 attempts is wild. He did get pulled twice for injury, but that only makes it worse. Game 1, Strevy was really solid. 246, 3 tds 1 int, 10.3 per attempt, last week in junk time throwing under the D he was solid as well. We would've been in the last game with a full start from Strev imo. Even though his production was padded by the situation. The 2nd Calgary game, where Strevy came in, was ugly though. Strev isn't going to get a clear shot at replacing Zach. It'll have to be a game like this where he steps up and overperforms in a tough spot.

  29. Yeah, we can't say that. What we can say is that our commitment to Fodder has prevented us from getting all-star-level players. Of course, we could not have filled all our gaps with All-Stars the last 2 years. But we could've filled a couple. The way we run the roster has taken us out of the free agent market. On top of that, it takes us out of the ability to develop younger guys. Right now, I think Tony Jones is going to be in the conversation for All-Star at Lber. (flawed system as it is) He's on track for 111 tackles and 9 sacks. He only got a shot here because Biggie got hurt. Biggie stayed healthy but ineffective last year. Tony Jones doesn't happen. Now he's not a great player or a top 5 lber imo, but he is worlds better than late stages biggie was. That camp was loaded with extremely talented young Lbers worth developing. But we cut 'em to ride with Biggie. We are still sitting on Ayers, unwilling to give him a role/chance. We've all seen that with long-in-the-tooth vets. But also with random non-bomber vets. Josh Johnsons, Tyquan Glass', Rock Cartwrights, Kelvin McKnights, the marine etc. So many guys get all the rope in the world only for us to eventually admit defeat when we could've made moves monthes earlier and improved instantly. 100%, guys need to play in-game to see what they can do. We hit diminishing returns so hard on guys riding the bench. I think it's most of those points. We aren't doing a great job of developing guys, and guys aren't chomping at the bit for spots because it doesn't happen unless an injury forces it. We need to be cycling imp WRs especially. This is Sterns 3rd season in the cfl. We can't protect him from competition and he isn't winning his spot.

  30. This is an endless loop though. How would YOU ever know if the best guys are playing? For all we know some guy who was on the practice roster here in 95 would have beat Milt Stegall's record if he got the chance. But he didn't, got cut and has been sitting on a couch for 30 years. Maybe he'd be a better TSN analyst too. But Cal Murphy never gave him a shot.

  31. So you're just shifting all the blame onto the gm... where will you shift it if the changes improve things? Because all these guys being moved about are already in house. What will it take for you to admit that the coaches are part of the problem in talent identification and use? It's ok, Mike oshea is rightly going to be remembered as an absolute ******* legend as a bomber coach and first ballot bomber hall of gamer and probably a statue at some point... but we can still point out his problems in the meantime.

  33. yeah....no game breakers or legit threats that require real attention...and can be easy to take BO away from us until we show different...I expect a keep in front coverage with lotsa guys in the box and them baiting us into nickel and diming it for extended long drives to actually score a TD....and not sure if we gonna be able to do that. Maybe BO goes off like a machine and Strev as well channels some of his old self and we control things that way Encouraging part...we have the guys on defence this game to really be active....match up way better and possibly be in Arbuckles kitchen all night...so we may win a defensive slugfest....Defence and ST definately gonna have to pull this one out....Have zero belief that with Hogan calling shots...and what he has to work with that we are gonna score more than 2 TD's on offense

  34. Given the terrible performance by our D last week, I think the changes being made give us a decent chance to win despite the lackluster-looking O.

  35. How dare you question professional coaches and their ability to judge talent.

  36. Corcoran for Case might be an upgrade. Case dropped as many as he caught. Corcoran can at least be a possession receiver, plus he allows for another American on the roster somewhere else. I like what we’ve done with the D. The more Griffin the better.
    3 points
  37. I half expect the O to dominate possession and yardage and we kick 10 field goals and win 37 to 24
    3 points
  38. Maybe this offense can be successful with a heavy run attack and short possession game, Hit a couple deep ones to Demski or Wheatfall when they are available. Otherwise run run run with Oliveira and Cooley (and Strev if he can still run?). The short passes are Corcoran's bread and butter.
    3 points
  39. I mean Streveler is playing and we dressing Cooley Brady MCI Demski even sterns Cobb. I mean pretty obvious the game plan isn’t gonna be 50 yard bombs.

  40. That receiving group is god awful...bordering on pathetic...No Mitchell again...why we keeping him?.....we better be run run run with 2 backs on field constantly I like Parker at corner as thats where he best suited...and Finally Griffin at SAM....Thats gonna help us a ton and maybe Kramdi apparently knowing all the positions will be the field general back there we need.....With Kelly back we have a competent backup for him too Jones also finally gets to show what he is all about....unless he gets the Ayers treatment and no reps....Don't get the need for Ball tho....coulda used that spot in a better way

  45. Wonder if peterson and Korn off means Vibert and maybe Kelly or Makonzo seeing as bridges off now Cooley is interesting tho...and why? Unless we are planning a run heavy offence...so him for Case?? But really that's again questionable...we need a reciever who can make a difference possibly...not a RB who prob won't see much use...unless it's him and Mitchell...tho id rather see Jones get on so that he shows he should never have been excluded in first place

  48. So the backup Corcoran is supposed to know how to play all receiver positions, yet a guy we signed can only play one? Even while writing this post it seems ridiculous.
