  4. I'm so happy we're 28hrs away from CFL football again!

  5. I am kind of glad we have it this year tbh. An extra week to prep in a new offensive system for a QB that has not had a start since early last year with a couple of new receivers can't hurt.

  6. If Jake and Schmek want to sit out... like permanently... that would be just fine

  7. Yeah basically Parker is a vet...he knows whats up from down...and good choice as if an injury occurs at a half...corner...or SAM he easily slides in any of those spots and we drop a guy into safety I guess they going the old familiar with Bridges to start, and if he just not cutting it...they tweek?

  8. Definitely. Milligan was burned a ton in coverage all year but had a ton of interceptions from QBs throwing the ball right into his chest. He wasn't taking balls away in coverage like Ford did, he just happened to be standing in the right spot at the right time for a tip from the DL, or an errant throw.

  9. This is a disingenuous level of bullshit that's inspiring my ignore button. Last week the complaint was Sheahan couldn't "kick them out of trouble." Evans gets exactly that chance and hits a 31 yard punt out of bounds from his own 19. 16 yard net. Guy did sweet **** all to win the job whatever complaint you have with Sheahan is. Showed nothing that he's a capable CFL punter. And Joe Couch was awful for Sask too so not surprising they are scrambling for help.

  10. Marty York, Scott Taylor & Jim Bender. If there was a Mt. Rushmore of sportscasting irrelevance, they would be on it.

  11. Look at the tackle numbers that Awe got...he'd be highest paid player in league by your metrics...now go look at him...and the others...where relative to l.o.s were they made...how many were after yards were gained....2nd downs converted...how many were for 0 yards...or lost yards...then get back to me...obviously you've never graded a football game Who the eff is Marty York lol

  12. he is the best true tackler on the team among DB's....prob team tho J.Jones is a machine....and if he totally healthy he likely one of the fastest on team too.....we cant go wrong with him on roater in any capacity With Griffin II...Parker...J. Jones and actually D. Adams on the field those are 4 guys who excel at bringing a guy down

  13. Seems like it. I'm very curious to see how the roster shakes down for week 1. Is Griffin staying at Dime as a DI? If he does, who is going to KR? How are we going to work the imp Lbers? Week 1 bye sucks as a fan lol.

  14. I'll field that one. Argos suck?

  15. Rourkes 4 TDs, and 9 INT’s in 9 games is ugly! Especially considering how good BC’s receiving core was.

  16. Rourke. Highest paid guy in the league by a lot. Milligan is solid on teams and a good db. He isn't the best but he's good. Db is a position you expect guys to excel at quickly to. At qb, the sophmore year is a hard hit and the way you really judge em is how they bounce back from that. Rourke is at that judging point now, but being paid like he's flutie 2.0. Coasting off his first half a year as a starter, which was 3 years ago is nuts. Rourke could be the 3rd or 4th best qb in the league this year, and that would still leave him wildly over rated and paid. I think he has as good a chance at having another brutal year as he does of being 3-4.

  18. From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year.... "The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025. The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her. Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network. As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team. “Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.” During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory. TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats. Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.” The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

  21. By his own metrics Ssk should finish below Wpg as they are the oldest team in the league, by average age.

  23. Parker has paid his dues and put in his time, he's been around since 2022 and has never become a full-time starter, after a full year of rehab, this is his big chance to establish himself as a team leader. People may have forgot but at one time he was the backup returner for Grant.

  24. I hope we just go for pedestrian returning first game while Logan is out and save that DI spot for a guy on defence to show what he has to be honest If I was a betting man all of Bonds..Nichols..Holm..Parker..Griffin and Bridges will be on roster...how used is another question....I truly figured somebody would have supplanted bridges spot tho...may still...Best bet it be Allen one would think as he showed the most Dream world would have Ayers..J.Jones and Woodbey as import backers to go with Shay..Smith..Gauthier..Cadwaladder..Novack...as those 4 Canadians would be huge on temas and we know Gauthier can take defensive reps and sure Shay and Smith will get some opportunities...but don think ratio wise we can do that with 3 imports unless we take away from elsewhere...which would be dline and dont like that thought

  25. Literally that person should lose their vote for being completely unserious.

  26. yeah he musta got some of the easiest INT's in a long time....dude several times was just standing in space and had ball hit him right in his chest...wasn't from extraordinary plays on the ball I used to rag on Holm but he busts up plays...tho I still dont like his physicality or tackling.....but if he had any hands at all he's have had Milligan int numbers but he has 2 stones for hands...but breaks up a lot...Nichols too....if he got the volume...he'd get the picks....The fact that fall past the brainiacs like the TSN gang is that Milligan gets targeted a lot....same with Houston....yeah they will get picks....but also burned a lot and give up lotsa plays in front of them

  27. Let's not take anything away from how overrated Milligan was last year. That was ******* absurd and based on almost nothing.

  28. Rourke’s o-line already dropped like flies and BC has done little to address their junk defence. How’s he gonna go full MOP when he’s running for his life or eating sacks while waiting for Buck’s long intermediate and deep routes to develop. Also hard to rack up stats while watching your defence get marched on all up and down the field.

    2025 predictions thread

Im tired of them constantly shining this kid, assuming BC is going to be like 17-1 with him and bla bla bla. I know hes a talented QB but he isnt the be all and end all.

  32. Doesn't mean they best...also means they targeted alot...they are both knee divers...Ford was one too...and those are pretty sad low tackle stats and if those guys in secondary are leaders just shows how abhorrent and crappy our LB play was...stats are not a measure of who's good in a lot of instances in football...that Lil snarky comment shows a lot of lack of football understanding...and yeah if up to me Kramdi and BA would not have started
    2 points
  33. Ian Holm led the team with 85 tackles, your next favourite Kramdi was second with 59, followed by BA at 57. If it was up to you none of these 3 would have been on the field.

  34. Hoping to see Adams as the starting defensive tackle, with his athleticism and size he could be a beast. In the preseason he was outstanding but how it translates to regular games remains to be seen. Right now I could see the following 4 di positions if Vanderpool is at guard then with Castillo and Vaval on special teams, we have only two DI spots left . If Jones starts at WIL then WIlson/Ayers will take one spot and then a choice will have to be made between Griffin and Adams/Woods (whoever doesn't start0. If Vanderpool isn't on the starting roster then three of Griffin. Ayers or Wilson, and Adams or Woods

  35. he actually was a starter in 2023 ...and originally first yr was projected to be but got hurt...his injury got Holm into lineup

  36. Seems they value Vet presence at Safety. MOS always talked about how Alexander was a general out there and making sure guys knew their spots.

  37. Jacked that it's cam mainly at DT. I get rolling with Parker despite limited PS play/success, he's done a lot in the past, even in limited reps. I don't get what we see in bridges. But we always start out with a guy or two like him that gets swapped out after a few weeks. Not that he's awful, he isn't rock cartwright or tyquwan glass. Just maybe this years version.

  39. Evans was solid game 1. He didn’t look so great game 2. Sheahan isn’t your prototypical cfl kicker but the days of those guys are long gone. Evans obviously had to outplay Sheahan and he obviously didn’t. Accept it. Move on. Oh well. Unless you got the wind nobody is kicking you out of the end zone. Sometimes it seems bigger returns happen when the kicker actually out kicks the coverage. In the end the net averages are all similar or with a yard or 2 of each other for all punters in the league.

  40. To the untrained eye like mine, it seems to work maybe 1 time out of 10 which then confuses me of not placing more emphasis on the importance of hangtime.

  41. Rourke is far and away the most overrated......Not only with media but with his over bloated salary

  42. These lists are always terrible but I think it’s an absolute joke we don’t have a single DB in the top 50. Best secondary in football and I’d take Bonds, Nichols and possibly Holms on some of the DB’s who made the list.

  45. This video put out by the CFL is going to thrill you! I honestly can't remember the last time Trevor Harris took a team anywhere, and he's played all over the league! Was he standing behind Henry Burris watching when the RedBlacks won the Cup in 2016?

  46. Tyrell Ford at 9? He's good, but one of the top ten players in the CFL? Willie J as the top ranked DL at 12 ... does not seem to be based on his 2024 season. Glad to see Justin Hardy on this list at 18. A receiver good enough to solo a passing attack. Ka'Deem Carey at 19. Team: Free Agent. ouch Begelton at 25 is brutal, To me, he's a top ten guy. A receiver that elevates his quarterback and another guy who can solo a passing attack.

  48. 2 and 3 are an utter joke....maybe Milligan slides in at 10...BLM??....Like wtf....and really what has Rourke proven other than the hot start having everything go right....his last 3rd of that season he was figured out...and his return lat yr was reason they bowed outta the playoffs sooner than they should have and save for BO the other 3 Canadians next are soley picked caue...they Canadian...they should be further down the lst
