This. Find a top notch guy with good CFL experience and then it's just about keeping people healthy and grabbing a few additions.

If we bring lets say Khari (still OC in BC) and O'Shea falters, could he be our next HC?

My money would be on Marcus Brady.

I totally agree. Having said that...what are the chances the Bombers take a run at at Harris or Ray for back up? Who else do you see Bombers poaching if Brady comes over?

Khari is the receivers coach in BC.  Cortez is the OC.

Why would he want to leave Toronto to come here?  Other then a butt load of money of course.

Chapdelaine  hasn't done half bad in Sask considering what he's working with but I would be surprised if they didn't retain him even with a new HC and GM coming in.  Their O put up pretty decent numbers even with a QB circus going on.

The only way we'd get Brady is if it was in a HC capacity.... we can't even get the right to talk to him if the move is lateral (OC to become OC).  I believe it has to be a promotion in role to even be able to talk to a coach under contract...

I think his contract is up. Not that Toronto wouldn't want him back, but we may be able to tempt him

while #riders work on a GM, can't hire HC. so #bombers could make play for Lapo, force a decision with cash and an assistant HC title #cfl

Normally I don't like to celebrate someone else's misfortune, but having said that...

 

 

And good on O'Shea for not having to do the "long walk in the snow" before deciding the obvious.

like Lawless just tweeted... I've been calling to get LaPo back on board for 2 years..... I'm sure he'd come back with the "off the record" understanding that O'Shea would be on a short leash, and he'd move to HC should the club stumble out of the gate next season.

 

And if Walters/Miller think that would make O'Shea nervous about his job and create conflict.... well then O'Shea doesn't have the confidence to be a HC anyways...  that's my opinion!

I would have no problem with Lapo as Assistant coach and OC. The guy knows offence in the CFL and would definitely make things interesting around here. Get K. Jones as QB coach around here and make it a good time.

The Bombers should be decisive and do their search and hiring ahead of any other teams... so we dont get their left-overs.

In fairness though, the last time he was here he is wearing 2 hats... HC and OC... He's no HC material back then... but he is a very good OC.

I really don't understand the love for Lapo.  Sure he looks smart on TSN but he's had an entire half of a ball game to think about what he's going to do and say.  I never thought he was a good game manager when he was here and I don't know if he's any better now. Is he the worst option?  Absolutely not, but there has to be better out there. 

 

And I don't mean Khari. 

No to Lapo. If Brady is the guy you want, you back the dump truck up to his door amd make the decision easy.
