Genuinely no idea why you'd even trade for Dru if you're not going to start him in a situation like this (if Collaros can't go) He knows the team, he knows the offense, he's a proven starter in this league and you're going to opt for the guy who has ... zero pro starts to his name? Because he's been on the team a month longer? No thanks

Hamilton is doomed.

Team is off until Wednesday when they have a closed practice. Only practice of the week. We won't know **** until the injury report on Wednesday afternoon and even then won't really know anything until Thursdays depth chart...

Wasn't Hogan kept so he could monitor this site and report back to MOS?

I'll make sure to get out my Argos Jersey for this one... JK

I meant the staff, as in there's a comfort of knowing the expectations, etc. Where he's at with the playbook? I mean, I'd argue he's gotta be further ahead than Elgersma given his years as a pro working with the exact same staff. I don't know why we'd be acting like Elgersma being here for a month or two as a raw rookie gives him a leg up over a guy who has played for years in this league and spent the last two with the exact same coordinator he's working with now.

If it is TE then I will be completely befuddled on what is going on with this club.

Good to see Kevens getting healthier

family gathering

he probably can't even do that part right - "KBF says we should go with the camouflage jerseys again" - Osh - "make it so"

Looks like Dolegala is starting this week for Ticats vs Riders. Report: Jake Dolegala to start at quarterback for Ticats vs. Riders - CFL.ca

ELE....Everybody love everybody...from the immortal Jackie Moon

With the slim pickings for emergency QBs, we have to give kudos to the team for getting DB when we did, for the price we did. In a much better place because of it compared to other teams.

Poor Terry Wilson...signed a few days too early He would have had familiarity with several players on offence in the Hammer which would have helped his cause

I could see MOS saying this: The kid earned it. Let’s roll. And because MOS lurks on this site, he likes to do the opposite of what most are suggesting just to see and chuckle at our reaction. That’s my theory and i’m sticking to it. :)

Here's what I've heard hot off the presses: Argos suck.

Well at least we poached Ottawa's OC to help us get the league lead in fewest TD's and points scored.

Those were amongst the worst jerseys Ive ever laid my eyeballs on, even our alternates need to be tweaked and have the # on the chest instead of that big W.

Brown has been. But he's also been getting hammered in OTT. Hardly a run game, some times not even a RB on the AR, mediocre at best OL, revolving door at OC etc. I'm less worried about him getting hurt then I would be about Alexander. Brown with a rookie back up is fairly comparable to Zach with a rookie back up imo. Its far from optimal, but as far as rookies go, TE has over achieved thus far. No joke. Not only that, VA always has the massive game then the extremely bad ones. The bad ones aren't as frequent as his bc and prior days, but its still a problem.

Willy and Vega look absolutely thrilled.

Barf

Just so so f'ing bad. I remember being outraged when i saw these Argos retros.

Collaros was 31 when we traded for him. With the amount of potential roster turnover each year we could absolutely see tremendous success in a short period of time if we have a QB who is ready to step in right away. One key would be not repeating history by experiencing success with Brown while TE's potential grows only to watch him walk away when he's ready to step into a starting role. Keeping both QBs actually gives us the potential to get it right this time. That being said, of course it depends on what we could get for any of our QBs but I don't expect any offer to be worth it.

They were hooped, no matter who they went with. Reading this 3DN article and picking the best of the bunch is like a bad round of "Who'd you rather". Six QB options for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats - 3DownNation

Collaros was not available. Sometimes the choice you make isn't the one you wanted.

Call that room Semi Pro. Time to start printing ticat logos on paper bags and make a fortune.

I think they made a temporary stopgap based on bad options. A few weeks of tre ford may change their minds. Though I don't think we'd really trade Zach. I would, but I don't think Walters has it in him. I think it'd be Brown. Zach was throwing the same depth; TE had 2 shots; it wasn't the QB; that was the game plan. I was impressed by TE's poise in that position as well. He was clearly mentally ready to go in and run the install from the week, which isn't at all easy for a true rookie in the very limited backup reps. He's further along as a fresh rookie than Rourke was as a rookie. He has a hell of a long way to go to get close to Rourke now, but he's on track.

Yeah I actually thought that was who Hamilton would have signed. As soon as the Ambulance pulled on to the field, their management should have been on the phone with his agent.

I'm not sure anyone thought a trade would be happening...certainly not this week. Hamilton won't make any trades for players until they are desperate. They aren't there....yet. On the other side of the coin, there is exactly 0% chance the Bombers would agree to trade Collaros at this point of the season. Not only would that go against everything that MOS has preached in his time here, but it would be incredibly stupid from a depth perspective...outside of getting a whole lot of exceptional talent in return (and again Hamilton has no reason to do that just yet).

If Brown isn't at least on par with TE in terms of ability to lead the O. Then he's not a QB I'd want...period...end of story. I don't think this is the case at all. I think he could have come in last week and done what TE did plus some. Brown should 100% be ready to go for this weeks game and I'd be worried if he wasn't.

I tend to agree with Mike.... IF Collaros can't go.... Dru should start. You have to go with the experienced hand. As Mike says "why did you trade for him, if not for this exact scenario?"

If Zach can't go, hopefully its Dru.

I am not 100% certain that they would not do this. If they did then... yikes.

I have no issues trading Zach for McManis straight up :D

Dolegala? Come on man

I've got some trade value too, just not 100%.

VA has always put up games like that, its the frequency of bad ones in the past that sunk him. He has been far more consistent since His last year in BC though.

He was deserving of his praise this week for sure.

IF big IF someone is making overtures to Walters regarding Zack I'd say give a good listen...Any deal would have to be a win for us, and involving a 'high grade currently rostered' player....There's nothing compelling us to deal Collaros BUT if it's a deal 'too good' to pass on, we would be foolish not to pursue it....We certainly have a few spots on the club that a high end player could fill and 'could' give us a better chance at a better playoff spot....and who knows from there........

The QBing has been superb to start the year. The issue is that they are all at various stages of brittleness aside from Rourke. Any football player could have it all end in any hit, but most of the starting QBs in the league could see it all end if they sleep or sneeze the wrong way. I also don't think this run on passing success is sustainable at all.

He was, but our core was in its prime. That wasn't a rebuilding; that was everyone peaking at the same time. Which gave us a considerable window of contention. Zach on the early Drew Willy teams is a whole other situation. How much we could get depends on if any other starters go down, and how realistic Hamilton is with this injury and their expectations. Right now, it doesn't sound outwardly like anyone over there is being realistic. The whole resurgence of BLM was based on him finally being 100% for an extended period of time. I get the feeling he and the tiger cats are going to try a schoen esq rushed recovery. I think TE has all the potential in the world. A slightly less athletic version of Rourke with very comparable arm talent. So far, I really like his intangibles as well. Perkins is an interesting one. I wonder if a desperate team would give us a first-rounder, roster asset, or high second for him. On top of that AR hoard of QBs we have, we also hold the rights to Diago Pavia. We will likely see the sell high point come soon on both Pavias rights and Perkins.

This league is too short on quality QBs. Look at Hamilton's situation right now as a prime example. I'm not against upgrading our team but we are in no position to do so. Brown has trouble being reliable and TE isn't ready yet. If Brown was durable, sure I would consider it....but I would feel very nervous about having Brown as our starter and TE as number 2. I am not at all confident in TE's ability to start, and no one else should be either. I like what he did last week, but as others have stated we won't win many games with that kind of offensive output over a season. His first start you gotta love it but he is a LONG way from being a starter in this league.

And don't call anyone a jive turkey!

The Bombers should wear their Signature Series jersey for this one that totally wasn't picked from the Argos reject pile

Yes

is this week our "road game" against Toronto?
