  2. Holm is outstanding... A worthy All Star recipient. Stoked to have him back.

  3. I don't necessarily disagree with the allocation of money argument, I just laughed that immediately after it's the re-signing post. Like the Bombers are just watching and going "**** this guy in particular "

  4. Great move! We’ve brought back all the right guys this off season.

  5. Its TSN. They gave Luke Wilson a show and kept Kate. They are clearly going for a Maple ESPN vibe.

  6. I remember the last time we cheaped out on a place kicker and how that ended up... Castillo is far from being an easy cost cutting player.

  7. I'd watch a show with Matty , Walby, and 2 other drunks gabbing about the CFL. Sign me up!!!

  8. Bo Levi has the gift of the gab and comes across very well on the tube....He'll be a good one....As far as Matty being let go...there were whispers about his imbibing ...Now I don't know if that was factual or just an excuse to dump him....Dunnigan had his share of noggin knockers in his time and maybe it was starting to tell in his speech...can't say for sure, but after listening to Kate over the past while, she is starting to make me year for the days of Matty....At any rate IF it wasn't his choice to move on, I think that was pretty piss poor treatment of one of the stars of this league....That still sticks in my craw

  9. I don't know why they don't just let Castillo do it all

  10. Liegghio was lucky that kick was blocked in the 2022 Grey Cup because he missed it anyway. It saved him the embarrassment of having to explain that he choked once more under pressure. Castillo has been money for us since & now some fans think he's just some kind of overpriced kicker that should be replaced by some random rookie player. From a place like Italy or Japan because he costs too much. The guy has kicked 3 field goals of 60 yards or more.

  11. To me, releasing Kola is a pretty obvious sign to the pending free agents that we are going to either a) put work in to pay one of them to play center or b) all of a sudden decide Tui can do the job and it’s not B

  12. I just think we need waaaay more from our Dline including our Defensive ends. Way more if we want to change the narrative to how we want to be known as a D coming into 2026.

  13. More hits for other teams (although these are only futures deals): All-CFL defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings to sign NFL futures contract with Minnesota Vikings - 3DownNation Cincinnati Bengals sign Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Dohnte Meyers to NFL futures contract - 3DownNation

  14. Imagine this crew as the CFL panel. You could rotate the two drunks every week to ensure you're getting fan representation from all CFL teams. The panel would be moderated by Bob Irving and Luke Wilson to help fuel the fireworks. TSN has no idea what it's doing.

  15. I remember when Holm was one of Booch’s original whipping boys.

  16. I like Kramdi at S because I think it plays to his one big strength, his closing speed. S is a role way more suited to his skill set and I think he could give QB fits if he can read the play well enough. His acceleration in a straight path is as good as it gets. Don't know if he can catch tho...lol. He is not bad allocation of cash. He is an all star DB. Someone else in the secondary might be bad allocation of cash but not Holm. He plays the toughest position in the secondary and is the best in the league at it.

  17. Yea...sorry Booch going to pile on...that post didn't even get a chance to not age well.

  20. I think they are worried that Sergio punting would affect his kicking. Almost no one does all three jobs any more.

  21. With Kolankowski gone and Thomas sorta gone, O'Shea will be dangerously low on pets, so Kramdi is golden.

  22. I predict Wilson will be let go. Neuf maybe not, because even if they go with 3 Americans, they'd be well served with him as the 6th OL.

  23. Counter point 2019 was 7 years ago. Perhaps its time for a larger overhaul. Then again what do I know?

  24. He was due a bonus tho and had a yr left on his deal

  25. Imagine Brady's numbers if Strevy didn't vulture all those tds from the 1. Then again, it likely kept him from making $400,000. 🤣

  26. I've actually said thats where I want him...traditional role safety...over top coverage and crashing down on run plays...nothing too exotic as he cant do it. He is bad covering...and gets lost in space too much to be a coverage guy, and at SAM where he has a lot of different responsibilities at prob one the most important spots on a CFL defence...so why play a guy who isnt the best you have and most skilled? The apparent smarts only do so much for a player on the field when their limitations dont allow them to be elite...Same can be said with Jones....Too many holes to be used as your legit playmaker....but really good guy to have in a role and depth He's an average DB but he is kinda multi usefull in a way...as he can work up close to the line...hence he should be a role player/super sub and paid accordingly...not at a top defender level and SAM is where you need one...and Was gonna say in the response above would love to see that flip flop I also think Smith could handle SAM very effectively too if given the opportunity Wonder with the big Kramdi deal...The Nichols resigning...If we were looking to move on from Holm?...Lotta scratch for those 3 that would be a bad allocation of cash... would just like to add...I never said I dont want Kramdi on my team....Just not starting unless it is a dire emergency thing....and his price tag way out weighs his production/impact....valuable piece as depth and leadership and serving a role...

  27. He's already on it! Canadian receiver Damien Alford signs with New Orleans Saints: sources - 3DownNation Saints offer must have been pretty good because he turned down 4 other NFL tryouts.

  28. Neuf as the 6th ol would be an incredible luxury. I'd love to have him and Wallace fight for the 2nd guard spot, with the loser taking the 6th spot. Letting Wilson go makes a lot of sense. Personally, I'd platoon the canadians at wil, and play woodbey at DHB. Woodbey is such an extraordinary outlier in his combination of size, athleticism, DB, and LBer skill sets. Playing him at half, and having him be the db in the run fit instead of Nichols would be such a miss match. Rolling out Shay, who is very similar in skill set at Wil, would take a big load off the shoulders off the Sam position as well. We could have a full 3 guys at wil/mac/sam who can play the box like Lbers. Plus a DB in Woodbey. That would be a massive mismatch in the run game. Plus Allen, who is a down hill Safety. In the Cover game that would give us interchangeability at Wil and Sam without subbing, but if slid Woodbey to Mac, and brought in Griffin, we'd have the same kind of mismatch advantage. Allen, Woodbey, and Shay can give us the game-breaking versatility that we used to have with Biggie/BA/Kyrie. It would take us closer to being able to run the cutting-edge modular defenses we used to run. We'd just need more Inside/Out versatility on the DL.

  29. If we actually let our Canadain LB's we drafted play...then the DA spot used on Castillo is moot and we can get the extra DA on roster in a "backup" capacity...I would tho draft a global....or find a Canadian kid to groom into doing all 3 tho....that should also be a priority this off-season

  30. Say what you want about Barker, but the guy is a stud recruiter. I wish we would have hired him.
    2 points
  31. The last guy we drafted really worked out for us, didn't it? Took him 4 years to actually become a pro kicker & get over the jitters. It's all hilarious how everyone thinks no player has value so let's sign everyone to the cheapest contracts possible. Then they wonder why we don't win championships.

  32. Barker may be old & irrelevant to some but the Argos think highly enough of him to rebuild the team the way he sees it. He said he'd be focusing on rebuilding the OL. He knows the league & has many contacts in the NFL & college. The Bombers should be so lucky to have the contacts Barker has in his network. I think he always kept in touch with his college & NFL scouts as well as kept current on CFL goings on as well.

    Random Jets News

Doesn’t seem like Josh Kyle mark and gabe are tuning him out. We lack talent. That’s more on Chevy than Arniel but it’s also partly the result of being an elite team for years now (with a presidents trophy and central banner to show for it) and not having top 12 picks. People love Winnipeg when they play here, some make it home year round for life, getting ppl here tho is still the problem. Perception. Not the free agent destination. So rock and hard place. Be good and not have top 10 picks and not be able to restock the cupboards or be bad like buffalo always and have top 10 picks every year.

  35. That is a mom job requisite, and I would include pizza pies in that.

  36. Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does. Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got worth it, but there's worse guys to over pay than a home grown legit MOP candidate who can do it all at the position.

  37. Moving on from Kola is another good move by Walters.

  38. I think its time to move on from Jefferson. He's going to be 35, he's had declining production the past two seasons, he takes plays off and he costs too much money. Too be honest, he seems to get a pass from many here, while other players don't.

  39. The Stamps in one day lost DL Jaylon Hutchings, Rec Mario Alford & LB Jason Roberts to the NFL. That's brutal. I don't care what people say about how great it is for our players to make an NFL team, this just kills interest in the CFL. And really hurts a team like the Stamps struggling to find relevancy in a local market where barely anyone cares anymore. It's like the Stamps are perpetually rebuilding. NFL teams need to compensate CFL teams if they sign anyone under a valid CFL contract. This system is unfair the way it is. It could be us next time. Hate it.

  40. One of the reasons this team is declining is because they've expected leadership from someone like Jefferson. He's among the most likely to quit on plays or take stupid penalties. If that's who we're looking at to lead we're ****** from Jump Street. You can live with a guy like this who makes game changing plays out of a rotational role, when he's been impactful. But you can't expect him to be the voice and the example.
    1 point
  41. Yup...We need the veteran and a guy who can still play in a nice rotational role....I dint think he has declined to the point of uselessness and over pay...and heck...we do that ad nauseum here so anyway....so why stop I wanna see him perform outside the stupidity that they had him playing last yr to determine the value....of he looks cooked in camp...surprise cut or trade Nichols...WJ...Lawson...Holm...Kramdi is a good core group to build around with youth, guess you can toss T .Jones in there as well so so 6 2nd/3rd yr guys and rookies to that mix will be an esy transition The ability to field 4...5 imports with Lawson and Bailey on the dline with the fact we should be able to have one of or more of Kramdi....Shay...Smith and hopefully Makonzo at any given time will have us light yrs away from last few yrs with slugs like Thomas...Korn...Gauthier...Scmeck (tho he has a role now)....Hallett flailing at ball carriers

  42. Thats a huge loss for the CFL, but pretty good for the Bombers lol

  43. When SC hits wide left, the last photo here should go up on the jumbotron. Lol.

  44. Yup not even close. Imagine him with an dominating Oline? When he's in the zone, everyone else around him becomes better.

  45. Kramdi is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be, but if someone is clearly better I like him at S. I know you don't care for him there, but I think he could be really good there with a little more time.

  46. I suppose it depends on where we are at with NAT receiver but yea...we could do it fairly easily without a ton of impact.
    1 point
  47. I agree on Castillo. Kicking is huge in the CFL and Castillo performs up to his contract. Those are the type of contracts we need to keep.

  48. any coaching prospect that is worth the hire shouldnt have to have any pre-requisite connection to Osh....serves no purpose and eliminates basically most of the best and qualified available...
