Walters calling this a turning point for a new era has me hopeful that running it back is out of the question this year.

And you can maybe excuse them for playing collaros in 2022 with the bum ankle.... but leaving him in when he couldn't grip the ball in 2024... just inexcusable. And dressing 3 hurt receivers and a hurt bighill in 2023 is just inexcusable.

Actually didnt care for Hodges little side takes. Osh was pretty straight forward in hes not interested in gm role. Also recognizes that lywasn't good enough and he has to adjust h4is coaching style to be more involved in day yo day coaching

Yeah, we really need to get Elgersma up here. He is our future at QB IMO. Another Rourke in the making.

'22 you are obviously going to run it back given you just won a GC. '23 you were a random Chad Kelly away from winning the GC so I could see running it back. '24 You just lost a close one against Montreal. But cracks are starting to form. '25 you absolutely **** the bed against the Argos in the grey Cup. That should have been an indication it was time to shake things up. Instead we brought everyone back again minus Lawler and signed some questionable FAs. Obviously we could have made much better long term improvements in that entire duration. Don't get me wrong. I just think how we went into this year was inexcusable.

Well it's a lot easier to fool yourself when you are first in the west and playing for the grey cup compared to 4th in the west and meekly bow out in the east semi-final.

I read it more as they haven't talked to the rest of the coaching staff yet and he wasn't going to say someone isn't going to be back without having told them to their face beforehand.

Walters is scheduled for his presser today - will be interesting to hear his thoughts & see if we learn anything about how they plan to right the ship.

Yeah his answers were more than fine. There were some offside questions in so much as things were asked and answered, or asked and he made it clear he wasn't going to say any more about it, and they kept hounding to the point where DC had to step in and tell them to stop. There's a sense of entitlement, to try and pry information that he clearly wants to keep private. People need to respect that.

Walters presser: Taylor Elgersma - sounds like he's waiting on an NFL futures contract for now. Window closes around Feb. Kyle expects if not then, then he will be expected up here. Ya he's acknowledged that last year wasn't good enough. 10 wins, but didn't beat most teams with their top QBs. Didn't beat Trevor Harris, VA, Alexander. Saying easier to do a quick fix with all the 1 year contracts across the league.

Not sure what anyone else could want from a press conference. No head coach is going to publicly skewer players or coaches and they aren't going to talk about contracts. He acknowledged this year wasn't good enough and that the standard remains high. A pretty easy answer but also one every coach will give.

sadly...we had him and cut him he's be better served now..and prob top toer at guard if he comes back...Mgloster..Bryant...anything but Kolo....the best outta Eli/Wallace/Neuf/Vpool/Vibert/FA Guy at guard/center and Randolph at RT...and whoever isnt your starting guard/center as the 6th...gimme some of that

IF Elgersma decides to sign, that would make the future quarterbacking picture a lot brighter here...Sounds like he showed pretty good in Green Bay, but was caught up in the ol political games they play with their pivots, and was released ....sounds too familiar.... Anyway we don't know how he would work out in the CFL...Sounds like Walters is keen on the kid.... Maybe we'll get to see for ourselves come training camp ........

If losing 3 gc games in row and in fashion, and hosting a gc didn’t change our approach, I don’t see how going 10-8 vs 11-7 and 12-6 will make that swing. I sure hope they do but I’m not holding my breath.

Some guys just can't get their **** together. When Tyler played Juco in California he saw it first hand. Players with god given talent but they just don't want to study & have lazy work habits. They end up like the guy who killed John Beam at Laney College in Oakland. Doing some low paying **** job instead of making millions in the NFL. Then they become bitter when they're spit out of college football & blame someone else for their problems.

We have seen that scenario way too many times, especially in the last few years, 2022 - MBT is struggling and the Argos turn to Chad Kelly. 2024 - Chad Kelly get hurt in the Eastern Final and Argos turn to Nick Arbuckle.

2022 Cup loss...a nobody inexperienced QB....a rookie for that matter came into game...and beat us...the heavy favorite..and he came in cause Dinwiddie saw they needed to make a change....not even really injury as Looney Tunes coulda still played....you dont know until you know....and a reason we have failed....ZC hurt 2 Cups....One cup 3 receivers were pointless....Biggie playing in another for no reason at all.....But we have all these starter quality backups but wouldnt trust them in the game.....piss poor coaching and that cant be denied At least Dolegala had league experience...got wins as a starter....all he needed to do was manage the game....get good coaching in the game....rely on our bread and butter...BO.....but nope....

Reading between the lines here, everyone won't be asked back. If they were all under contract and wanted back, he would have said so.

Man i think you’re off on this. Zac was hurt on a key part of his body, his throwing hand. He had no business going back into the game. This is the exact reason you employ/dress more than one QB. We had a healthy qb on the sidelines and for those that say he would have stunk not CFL material, one no one here has a crystal ball so we will never know and two if it was indeed a fact TW had no business being on the field for the big game then that’s a whole other discussion to have on why even dress the guy, it’s embarrassing if that was the mentality of the coaching staff/management about TW, what a waste of spot.

MBT is wrecked too. He did not get a needed elbow surgery because they literally had no one to bring in.

Mekhi Tyrell. Was supposed to play for the Bisons this year but ended up with the Edmonton Wildcats. Was it performance or did we let him go to the NFL? The Chargers signed him a week after we released him so the timing is odd.

C;mon, the media is kind to Miller, Osh & Walters. You make it sound like the media was being mean to Osh. The press corps constantly throw softball questions at them with very few hard & pointed ones to answer. In the 60's, 70's & 80's the media was much harder on Lunsford, Bud Riley, Robson, Jauch & Murphy. Lunsford would get angry. His Oklahoma temper intimidated some of the media & they'd back off. Bud Riley was a very introverted & quiet man who never trusted the local media so his relationship with the Bomber press corps was tenuos at best. Jauch would just give a reporter who asked him a question he didn't like the Evil Eye & the look of death. Murphy would just laugh at the questions he didn't like or scowl at them. Sometimes both at the same time. A head coach like O'shea with 12 years experience should have no problem handling any media question. Especially from the people covering the team now. kinda hamstrung with that dumb rookie salary cap.

Collaros cant play forever, and even O’Shea with his Collaros loving tinted glasses can see he is in decline. The end is near and we have NOBODY in the pipeline other than Elgersma. He wil be given EVERY opportunity to succeed and then some. He is a blue chip prospect.

Given O'Shea's track record and my cynicism about him, I expect that if Elgersma does make it up here and does not kiss the ring, O'Shea will give him minimum training camp reps, trot him out in for a brief stint in pre-season games, pronounce him as "not ready" and maroon him on the bench.

No matter how you look at it, O'Shea screwed up due to his stubbornness and there is no reason to believe he will be any different in future.

I hope that is the case.

He was pretty vocal about not having the safe injection site in that neighborhood so I wonder if the arson locations weren't targeted. He's charged with the fires at the constituency offices of Nahanni Fontaine and Bernadette Smith (who is the addictions minister), as well as fires at a provincial treatment center. Maybe the businesses had shown their support for the idea (or for something else) and got on his s**t list.

2024...ZC has finger basically reattached...sent out there with glove...and is throwing long passes...picked repeatedly...is utterly useless... The way things have panned out alot..repeatedly...fir yrs...seems to be the opposite of smart

Our BB coaches/management are smart people, I think it's more stubbornness, confirmation bias, blind spots and loyalty all working together here. We are all guilty of doing these things in our lives (some more than others) btw but still doesn't give them an out here.

Difference here was TW was not wrecked, he was a 100% healthy QB. So if the mentality is you have a 100% healthy QB at your disposal that you absolutely will not utilize even if your starting QB is playing at 50% there is something amiss here and deserves scrutiny not just at the coaching level but at the management/scouting levels. And it doesn't mean we hate MOS.
