  1. Seeing Vernon Adams - Head - Full is so hilariously appropriate.

  2. Timing of the play was the issue. With three minutes left - the Bombers could have run 2 running plays and then kicked a FG, going up 9 points with then 2 minutes left. Much better situation. If the Bombers scored a TD, they would have been up 13 points...which is STILL a 2 score game.... there was little difference in either scenario... ultimately - it was a terrible coaching decision - followed up by a bad read and poor execution.

  3. well the choosen receiver too for that call may have also been an issue...still though with leagues best RB would it not been better to take 2 runs at it and depending how close u were on 3rd down gamble?.....or just kick the 3 and nake it a 2 score game?.... All throughout a game a defence will present looks that can be exploited...that being said they also are playing the game too and can make a play...and the DB there made a solid play....and had a size mismatch to boot...

  5. I am hoping that we can get a little more disciplined ourselves, We have been making egregious mental errors on both sides of the ball all season.

  6. Who knows who is really to blame but they really need to figure out what is going on in the red zone. Streveler the only QB in the league with multiple red zone INTs, and with the one that Collaros has the Bombers have 50% of all red zone picks thrown this year. On a team where the offense seems to sputter more often than not, you absolutely need to have those points. Even if you just get field goals there, you are going from third last in the league for PPG, to 3rd best.

  7. 100% you can. Play calls should absolutely take match ups into consideration so the execution is more likely than not. Our shortest WR going for what should have been a back of the endzone catch against a corner who had what 4 or 5 inches on him is a bad match up. The execution was also poor. Hindsight is what it is...but in that situation even if you ignore the clock and the score...to also ignore the way your QB has been playing as well as the previous turnovers (vs CGY) in the redzone it just makes the call even worse.

  10. I agree. I have no issue with Hogan's play call in that situation but the play design does not appear to be a particularly good one. However, that being said we don't have much of a receiving crew to work with. I do think we would be celebrating a Kenny Lawler TD with same play call and him as the primary though. Walters has really bungled our receiving corps. Used to be the league envy, now its a joke.

  11. Yeah should have been a call that could been changed at line when they saw who/what coverage...or had 2 options...that was a 1 option throw it there regardless of what was seen on field...and the QB gets to wear the horns...If that was Lawler...Schoen....heck even Wheatfall that catch may have been made, ZC has had a lot of success and TD's scored with throws way worse than that but got bailed out...Strev didnt get bailed out...It wasn't that bad a throw really and a bigger...more apt to win 50/50 battle balls likely makes that catch...our receiver on that play is not that kinda guy

  12. Every play call in the world is wrong if it doesn't work out? Nope. Hogan's right, the defence presented us with pass being the right call. Execution was the problem not play call. Can't blame the play call for poor execution.

  13. I think Bridges had a really good camp and started the season well, but got into his own head and started making egregious mental errors. When that happens to players at a position of strength, yep you let them walk.

  14. I think anyone could see that the Riders will go as far as Harris can take them. He is a good QB WHEN HEALTHY....and there is the rub. The guy is 40 years old and the chances of him finishing this season have got to be pretty low. He has been a faberge egg over the past several years and that was always going to be the Riders achilles heel this season. I really honestly believe that Harris will not last the season, and I'm not cheering for a QB injury to anyone, but that is the likely reality. Are they kind of smoke and mirrors? Yea....they aren't as impressive as their record but their record is all that matters in the end. I just don't believe for one second that they can keep it up down the stretch. Like you, I would be shocked if they were the hot hand by seasons end. I don't think SSK is particularly well built to hand us our asses. However, I don't think we are particularly well built to hand them theres either. I expect a couple of close games with the football gods likely deciding both of them.

  15. MOS had a lot of good things to say about Woods in Tait's piece today so that leads me to believe he's going to be in this week. Not sure whose spot he takes...

  16. To be honest I don’t really fault O’Shea and Walters for this one in particular. Seems like they liked him, gave him a chance to earn that starting role. Had a good first game, but was absolutely terrible afterwards. He’s a young guy so they gave him some time to see if he can overcome the adversity and he didn’t, and they decided to move him to the PR. I have no issues with giving a young guy more then one start to try and get better but the team has to see there’s consequences for not preforming.

  17. Heresy! Haven't you heard of papal/O'Shea infallibility?

  18. I'm wondering if this was a situation where he was pissed off about being on the PR and asked for his release. Either way, he earned the demotion...

  24. Zach certainly can be and should be the best QB on our roster easily. He needs to quit throwing back breaking interceptions though. If Hogan smartens up, and Collaros smartens up, then he can have a very nice bounce back remainder of the season and put us in a position to win more often than not. If he keeps playing the way he's playing...it really is a toss up between him and Strev and Strev is not playing very good either. We need Zach in order to win the GC. Our only shot is if he bounces back into form and Hogan goes back and looks at the 2019 film on how to use Strev in a platoon role to take pressure off Zach.

  26. Not really that long. 5 and a half games. He played alright in the first 3. Bonds hasn't stopped getting torched since the first Calgary game. We beat Toronto because for some reason they couldn't key in on Coxie vs Bonds or Vaval in the red zone. We only stopped that connection by pressure. Lucky they run plays for Ungerer, Mayala etc. Dinwiddie's a genius.

  27. The really good dbs we added started at training camp, and earned a spot.(0ther than ford) This year we chose Bridges cause he seemed the safe choice. With others they may have had some growing pains but youd youd also see some great plays showing promise. Bridges didn't , not sure why it took so long to figure out

  28. Bridges by all accounts had a great camp, but really got mentally rocked by Alford and never recovered.

  30. Couple more lil tweeks and I can see us managing them quite well....and even our at times piss poor coaching may not kill us as I still think Mace is even more clueless...and that team is still super undisciplined We got a few games yet to get our house in order...so we shall see but based on record right now...they are best....over the course of yr tho and how it all shales out...I have my doubts.....specifically for 3 reasons...Harris factor....guys never won...Mace....and their undisciplined play and believing their own hype I do hope tho they claim 1st and we kill their hopes and dreams again at PA west....again haha

  31. hopefully this will make the coaches realize now that just because a guy was here last yr...2...3 yrs....that maybe they aren't the best choise...and we see actual true TC competition finally

  32. I do agree the play design wasn't great, but I really believe that in that situation the QB really needs to be cognizant that there can be no interception on that play. If you don't get the matchup you desire on that play you take the incompletion. A QB has to have that situational awareness, and the OC needs to remind him as well. I have no issue with the play call. Take a look see if you can get a guy lost in coverage, but if you dont the fans should be getting a souvenir. An interception on a 50/50 ball is on the QB. That is a throw that should never have happened.
    1 point
  33. yeah...as what I trying to convey....was wrong side of endzone to throw that pass too....had to basically be a perfect pass, but even then the mismatch may have still sunk it
    1 point
  34. Not how that works. It gives them 25 snaps where he can sub for the Canadian. Otherwise he just replaces whichever import receiver who would basically be the designated import anyway.

  35. D. Lawson is practicing in field-side CB. So he is definitely in this week. The same with Woods. Hoping they keep both Woods and Adams in the roster.

  42. 3D had an article about how the Riders have sold out Labour Day and that its their first sell out of the year. Meanwhile we are at all 4 sold out this year with 9 in a row. I'm just saying us fans have brought it this year. Flowers to all of us.

  43. Logan was hurt in TC and it was apparently quite bad because he's been on the shelf until about two weeks ago. He's been getting further along, tho... Seen running in civvies a couple weeks ago and was in full gear this week, according to the beat guys.

  46. Not a Smurf but not overly tall, either. If Oliviera is to be effective, we need to have better blocking at guard and center as teams are clogging up the middle on us. To me, it would be a helluva lot easier and quicker to replace Kolankowski as his ineptness affects the inside run game and also makes life a lot harder for Neufeld and Wallace.
