Lawson back at practice is great news.

Here's a likely game 1 napkin roster scenario as of today. I left the kickers and Benson off. Assumed Lawson and Kelly are injured. Having a returner in the secondary leaves the O pretty thin. I think they keep Griffin on because he can play like 8 spots on D and is great on special teams. Could see them swapping Schmekel for Jaylen Smith too, especially if they play on going with 30 fronts. Could also see Lofton losing his job. If they go with something like this...3 Canadian OL starting, they need 6 ALL CAPS on the field at all times on O, and only 1 ALL CAPS on the field on D on every snap. Fun fact: Last game, #36 Cooley has 36 rushing yards, 36 receiving yards and 36 yards after catch (yac). That's pretty cool.

Was hilarious to watch kolankowski and neufeld downfield... neufeld gets a block allowing the receiver to pick up extra yards... and kolankowski had a great view of the tackle. Useless sack of ****.

I could easily see him staying. He's got a very good job here and he (and his family) have been entrenched in the community. He's still been doing stuff in local schools (anti-bullying campaigns) as recently as a month ago so even if he's not with the Bombers anymore, he's still active in that aspect. I could just as easily see him leaving though - his kids are young enough that uprooting them wouldn't be too hard and he could do his job (or a similar one) anywhere.

Well the 2019 team was 3-5 with Streveler starting and 4-0 with Collaros starting. So he had some impact. D wasn't getting it done by themselves, they got smacked around pretty bad in majority of games after Nichols went down. Probably don't get to any of the post-19 Grey Cups if you don't host the West Final. Matt Nichols never hosted a West Final. Buck Pierce, Kevin Glenn and Khari Jones hosted 1 East Final each. Collaros has hosted 4. Good to have some perspective. The only comparison that will matter in the end is Dru Brown from 2024 on vs Collaros from 2024 on.

Dear God, i just realized Callaros has not thrown a TD pass in 4 of our last 5 Grey Cups. Christ, if he's even average we would have won 4 in a row. Great now ive made myself sad and angry. Fired myself back up all over again.

Grant is the ultimate wildcard, whether a game is going well or not, with one 10 second play he has the ability to turn the scoreboard on it's head and steal momentum.

Yup, when that happens I got hugged by like 4 strangers in the stands. Every one knew what that play meant. It’s in the top tier of bomber plays and moments. Man Lawson back is huge hope he’s. Should be lots of time to get ready for game 1.

Really comes down to punts. Receiving them at all first, then receiving them in any position to advance the ball. Not a skill you just pick up and start doing at game speed.

I get what you're saying. But I think you're day dreamin a bit. Miller will not push either one out after another winning season. It will take at minimum consecutive seasons where the needle moves in the wrong direction. No I do not mean losing the GC game again. I mean not making the cup, not making playoffs etc etc.

Those UFL games help me sleep. You can actually hear the wind blow through the uprights of the empty stadium when the players aren`t talking. So soothing­. Im hoping for more than that. I think he`s got it in him.

5 straight cups is 5 straight cups and honestly until proven otherwise in the west, the bombers are the team to beat.

Case wasn’t in the first game, maybe he had to return home? Other wise we could’ve stuck some one on the ir who we know is gonna make it and doesn’t need the reps. Nah Lawson was taking equal reps with Thomas and more down the stretch before his injury. They paid him top tier money, he’s likely gonna play more snaps than Jake.

Some times people kick addictions and pick up other problems, other times the addiction can be the side effect of another problem too. We all know he’s as talented as it gets, and we know he’s prone to saying stupid stuff. He might be out of football if we cut him, so he better have his head on straight now. tbh Lawler has a lot in common with him. Some stupid mistakes, dui/passport etc. struggled to be consistent/on the field. But lawler, is a hell of a competitor. He says the right things to media and does the right things on the field. Mitchell needs to find that dog, and keep it close all year.

I took it as a mental competitive drive thing. Some guys are slow starters even in pro sports. It isn’t good, you’re right. Might not be the end of the world, but I think he needs to go out and take a starting job from some one Friday. It’s also one of those things you shouldn’t publicly admit.

YOU would think that if he good to go week 2 then one of Thomas/Schmeck is not rostered....3 national DT's is overkill especially with all the athletic guys we have to use instead..Novack..Leroux...a reciever...anyone

Pretty much, agree. Except, Griffin should be together with Kramdi at SAM. And I expect Jaylen Smith to be in the lineup in place of Hagerty.

I was just reading about Quinton Cooley to see if he had any experience returning. Looks like he never did it in college but had a handful in high school. I also came across this ridiculous stat: Imagine what those games must have looked like 🤣

Smith tho is an experienced kick and punt returner tho...i expect at worst Cooley is on PR to hone the skill

Yeah. it was pretty clear that neither guy decided it was their time to pack it in, and that it was the club who made those calls. That said, both guys did handle it as gracefully as possible. If he not squared right up with someone immediately he is just lost...and usually they just driving him back into the pocket...his 50's and chips to follow up and engage with his guard in second level is horrendous bordering on non existent...do you every see him in second level or downfield...on seek and destroy? I can't recall...but you see others...what fascination with him Osh has is baffelling..hes undersized...and an undersized center is a bonus if they athletic and active as it allows you to do so much more...and he isn't...just don't get it...and motion in front of him or twists and stunts...fugetaboutit

Yeah yeah. The feelings are hard. Whole league is within 3 yards net on punts last season, 36-39 yards. Everyone right around 10-11 yards per return, difference is a team like Toronto with Grant having a big play return every other game on average. Edmonton 6 yards ahead of anyone else on net punting last year, but also highest net against. Net exchange, barely positive. Sask punted 25 times more than us last season, us and BC punting significantly less. Yeah you want to be best in the league, but it's not like we have some giant deficiency. We need a returner.

If zc I'd wanna see Strev get at least the first half...Wilson 3rd and part of 4th...new guy last part of 4th...as there no way in hell he getting in the first game so why bother...hes strictly development guy at this point...hes not unseating and of the 3 ahead of him Even with Schoen back we shoulda still payed Lawler in my opinion...Eliminate D Mitchel and Thomas money...hes paid for....Lawler..Schoen..Clercius..Demski...White would look pretty sweet right about now..

Go with whoever Collaros likes better. There's not a ton to choose from between those guys. Mitchell and White have the most experience. They are complimentary with one being more of the heavy inside style and the other being more of the guy you're trying to get loose vertical or one-on-one off a screen with a corner. But if for some reason Collaros really feels comfortable working with Wheatfall or Myron Mitchell, put them on the roster. Didn't sound like Collaros is travelling to Regina as of last night. Think it'll be Streveler first 3-4 series then first couple in 2nd half, Wilson around that and Artopoeus for most of the 4th.

I think white has just about won a job with his run game play and system fit.

Eli doesn’t work well with kola. Neuf tbh doesn’t either. It’s certainly sup optimal by a lot. Imp guard is a crutch. If you gotta do it, do it. I think we are best off sticking Wallace in and growing with him. Then one day swapping Eli in for the turnstile at c. vanterpool also had some really good plays at T. I’d like to continue to see him develop there and push Randolph. 100% agree. since we have a bye then a suspension week to Zach, I think he needs a decent few snaps this game to get the last rust off and try to keep it off.

I like what I saw from Artopoeus more than what I saw from Wilson given their respective development time. Wilson is a 2nd year guy but looked pretty hesitant. Not to mention Logan, who is also a very good RB. I hope Cooley can add some value somewhere so we can keep him but I`m just not seeing how unless we can stash him on the PR but I`m seeing several good candidates for that as well that are at positions far more important.

Gotta say not happy seeing Woli & Lawler playing for the Ti Cats last night. It was still a shock to the system to see all the former Blue Bombers on that team even though we knew it already. I can understand releasing Woli & wanting to get more playing time for Clercius but Lawler? Currrently the best deep threat in the CFL at the moment. Walters better hope that Schoen plays every game, has a dominant season & get bogged down with injuries since Walters hasn't got a contract for next season. Neither has Osh.
