November 21, 20223 yr Too soon? Too many truly painful Grey Cup losses have taken the sting out of yesterday's loss already. Time to look forward while we cope with the recent disappointment. Who do we keep? Who do we let go? Who do we go after? Someone was going to start this thread at some point.

Not sure how they’re still around. Sponsors and tv contracts, I guess. Can’t see how it’s sustainable. It's on NBC, which is why they can afford to have low attendance.

April 17, 20232 yr Sorry about the collage of pictures, here's 2 pics from each game of the USFL this week. It appears two games had almost nobody, while the bottom two games has at least a few thousand people at the games.

In fact I've seen bigger crowds at a Bomber practice. This league is not going to make it. Bluto, you may get MBT back yet. The league also has a policy to not release attendance numbers. Imagine if it was the CFL that did that? We wouldn't hear the end of it from guys like Arash.

April 17, 20232 yr I watched part of the Panthers @ Houston Gamblers and I didn't see a fan until they panned behind the benches and there may have been only hundreds. It was really hard to tell. It's a terrible look at minimum when you see no fans at most viewing angles

April 18, 20232 yr Beat me to the Keith Urban comparison! This guy is 6'5 and averaged 99.9 yards and 1TD per game in 2021

Was the best kicker in the n arena league by a lot. Supposed to have a big leg and plus accuracy. He finished hot at grambling state and was getting some good nfl hype from his work outs. Seems to have slipped between the cracks. Gonna be a lot of boots in camp thats for sure. Edited April 18, 20232 yr by wbbfan
April 20, 20232 yr Local kid (only 19) trying out for the Bombers as a territorial exemption. Mekhi Tyrell, anyone know anything about him? Drew interest from the NCAA but had academic issues. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2023/04/19/newest-bomber-way-ahead-of-his-time

BC & Edmonton were also in the mix to get him as a territorial recruit it seems: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/2023/01/12/winnipeg-receiver-turning-heads https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/special/sports-editors-picks/2022/01/24/his-ceiling-is-through-the-roof Edited April 20, 20232 yr by bigg jay
April 20, 20232 yr That is wild. Very curious to see where this goes. …. but how bad do you have to be at reading to not be able to play for Alabama? Sheesh
April 20, 20232 yr always concerned about the "academic issues" thing....... I'll take a smart player with less athletic gifts over the other way around every time. But......as always......In The Trinity We Trust.
April 20, 20232 yr If you're getting recruited by Alabama, you're a big time prospect. He already knows Demski from Recruit Ready. I could see this kid spending a year on our PR. practicing and training with the club with Demski as his mentor. I think he's in the perfect place.
April 20, 20232 yr has anyone that young ever earned a tryout before? Does the CFL have rules on age eligibility? Edited April 20, 20232 yr by bearpants

April 20, 20232 yr Sellers was in the CFL in '95....... TIL........... that is wild. I really thought Taman found him and brought him in.

Well to keep the TIL going, he actually came in playing D-Line. Edmonton switched him to FB in 1997 (he split time between offense & defense that year) before he went to the NFL in 98.
