  1. I like the looks of our recieving core more than last yr to be honest...especially with some of the guys we brought in new..Jackson being back and now Saunders...if he fully back to what he was..that's huge...and now with Grant...who I hope we mix in a bit more now in his 3rd yr here...we are looking good behind that online...and the 1-2 combo of BO and JA...easily will get us 1200 yards minimum combined in the ground game...Buck's second yr owning the offence too us gonna loom large too...I see us putting up league leading scoring numbers....and we know the defense will be top 1 or 2 in league giving up points ...3 peat totally in our grasp if we dont get nailed with multiple "key" injuries...I say key as we have great depth for most part...which was proven last yr...but we didn't lose vital guys for extended time...that of course will hurt any team...but we know we have the backups for the most part to carry us through...

Looking out my window at 6 AM on Wednesday morning, things were still calm. But in spite of that, we still got the call that the division was closed. Within an hour, it could have been a very dangerous situation, had the school busses started out that morning. And quite honestly, no harm was done. Kids got a couple days off and some people bought lots of milk. I found it hilarious that people felt the need to justify their milk usage...on Twitter.

    Top 5 Bomber QBs

It's hard to argue with the list of QBs offered up. Although he is on no one's top 5 list and most of you won't remember him, here's a good read on Ken Ploen's competition in the late 1950s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Van_Pelt But for an injury and the US draft, it could have been Kenny Who?

It's really incredible, the work that meteorologists do. One of the most inexact sciences there is and yet they're close more often than not. Thank GOODNESS they gave the warning for this storm that they did, and gave people the opportunity to prepare for the worst

So what happens is magats find this on the social media, point to it as their research, telling people to wake up sheep. Viscous viscous cycle of how disinformation, lies manipulates vulnerable people. But yea facebook and twitter is all about connecting people encouraging good dialogue and sharing of ideas, censorship bad, so says billionaires making gobs and gobs of money off the backs of these people being manipulated.

    Top 5 Bomber QBs

I think Don Jonas should be in there as he had one 4,000 yard season & Schenley MOP in 71. Then a 3800 yard season in 72. Took a team that missed the playoffs for 4 straight seasons (1967-70) & was a league laughing stock with just 2 wins in 1970. In 1970, the Bombers averaged maybe 12000 fans a game while the team kept losing & losing. They stunk no matter who played qb. When Jonas arrived, the air was filled with footballs & excitement with high scoring games. Tickets were hard to come by in 1971 with sell outs a common thing. With Mack Herron running & Jonas chucking the ball & Thorpe, Larose, Markle, Ribbins & Kraemer catching the Bombers became a hot ticket. The Bombers made the playoffs & finished third in the West at 7-8-1. This led to expansion of the West Side of Winnipeg Stadium from 21000 to 25,000 in the off season. In 1972, the team went 10-6 & was just one stupid flukey play away from going to the Grey Cup losing the Western Final to the Riders. The team was in dire financial straights until Jonas et al showed up in 71. But it was Jonas who poured the drink & stirred the contents. The Bombers would have been nothing without him. He literally saved the team frrom folding. I grew up in that era. I remember the two biggest high profile athletes in Winnipeg at that time were Bobby Hull of the Jets & Don Jonas of the Blue Bombers. The City loved them both.

My guess is we are in around 30 inches of snow. It's really hard to tell though. I've got drifts right on my lane and in the yard that are 4 to 5 ft deep.( That will work the old blower out ) My son has a house on the property and the drifts are over the hoods of his SUVs .The highway that fronts the property is still closed and I assume blocked as there is no traffic and locals will go even if it is closed. While it wasn't 97 or 66 it was still a heck of a storm. Edit : I was out on snowshoes today and I could sink a ski pole completely in on the drifts on my lane .

  12. I like the action shots of players, but this photo of James West just perfectly encapsulates the man. He was a beast on the field and took his job seriously, but never seemed to take himself too seriously and always made every day a fun one. Always grinning or smiling for the cameras. Boundless spirit. One of my favourite players ever.

Pat King bail review adjourned again, this time in response to new charges against him A key figure of the Freedom Convoy protest will remain in custody for now after his bail review hearing was adjourned Thursday due to new charges against him. On Wednesday, the same hearing was abruptly adjourned when a lawyer's computer was hacked. Pat King's defence lawyer had requested a review of the decision to keep him in custody until his trial begins. The bail review hearing started Wednesday but came to an unexpected stop when King's lawyer, David Goodman, who was appearing virtually, interrupted court to alert everyone his computer had been hacked. Through Goodman's computer speakers, a cryptic voice repeatedly said the computer had been locked. The proceeding was adjourned until Thursday, and Justice Graeme Mew ordered a publication ban on the hacking. When the hearing resumed Thursday, the publication ban on the hacking was lifted. Goodman told court his computer issue had been "fully resolved," nothing was corrupted and his files were safe and secure. All evidence presented at the bail review remains subject to a publication ban, which is often requested and granted to prevent potential jurors from being prejudiced ahead of trial. King was a leading figure in the weeks-long convoy protest against COVID-19 restrictions, and was arrested on Feb. 18 on four charges: mischief, counselling to commit mischief, counselling to commit the offence of disobeying a court order, and counselling to obstruct police. King is now facing additional charges of obstructing justice and perjury. -CBC News

Gosh if only homeless people would just stop choosing to be poor and choose to be rich instead. This is the most disgusting thing about a lot of modern conservatives. They have no interest in looking into WHY anything is the way it is.

I like how he says at the end 'or in Hitler's case a very unproductive life' right after he just used Hitler as an example of how one can work themselves out of homelessness if they just apply themselves.

  38. Benjamin was voted the dirtiest player in the league by his peers in a player poll when he was with Ottawa. Once ran downfield 30 years on an interception return for a touchdown to spear a Bomber blocker who was on the ground out of bounds, earned him a suspension. When he got traded to Winnipeg in 1989 he actually was somewhat afraid to walk into the dressing room and face a few defensive players he knew he had knowingly taken cheap shots at, unsure how they might react if he offered to explain himself. As soon as he entered the dressing room, Ty Jones and James West walked right up to him and West said “Look, we don’t want to talk about things you have done in the past against us. You are our teammate now, so that stuff stays buried. We have your back now, just like we expect you to have ours.”

  40. man this guy did some great things for us. Comes back after being cut in 2016 and gets 100% dialed in with Nichols on that lethal endzone corner route in 2016 and 2017 -- for awhile those two were like Ricky Ray and Jason Tucker. Will always be a fan. He was a giant part of the 2016 breakthrough season that proved out the Canadian Mafia and gave them time to build the current juggernaut. Real pivotal player in a pivotal point in Bomber history. Wish we could've won him a ring. I think there's a dark timeline where we don't have Clarence Denmark waiting in the wings in 2016 ... Dressler can't do it alone ... the team doesn't break through ... Walters runs out of runway ... and now, in 2022 Mike O'Shea is back selling pharma and Jim Barker is the coach and GM of the Bombers.

  41. As I recall it, Bell recieved the penalty for objectional conduct - taunting, and for clipping, and for being a tool without a permit. penalty was 15 yards and he had to remain an Argo. Was considered by many to be one of the harshest penalties ever handed down. Only thing worse would have been to have been immediately made a Rider, but no one really deserves that fate.
