  1. I'm just guessing they brought up Thrashers as it was a Thrasher goalie who owned the record.

  2. From 3Downnation: Dwayne Johnson opens up about depression, says release from CFL was ‘worst time’ By Elahe Izadi Posted on April 2, 2018 by 3Down Staff // 45 Comments Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is speaking publicly about his and his family’s struggles with depression. In an interview with the U.K.’s Express, Johnson spoke about his mother’s attempted suicide, which took place when he was 15. “Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed,” he told the outlet. “I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.” After the interview published, Johnson tweeted that he received “tons of responses. Thank you.” “We all go thru the sludge/(expletive) and depression never discriminates,” he continued. “Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up. Especially us dudes have a tendency to keep it in. You’re not alone.” Months after her family had been evicted from their apartment, Johnson’s mother attempted suicide. She walked out of her car on a major interstate in Nashville and into oncoming traffic, with giant trucks and cars swerving out of the way. Johnson has previously revealed details about his mother’s suicide attempt. In a February Instagram post about filming a scene involving suicide in his HBO series Ballers, Johnson wrote that the moment had him reflect on “how many of us have been affected by suicide of our friends, family. Struggle and pain is real. We’ve all been there on some level or another.” “I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road,” Johnson wrote about his mother’s incident. “What’s crazy about that suicide attempt is that to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t.” He added: “We got lucky that day when I was 15 and that ain’t always the case.” Years before he became one of the world’s wealthiest actors, Johnson pursued a football career but was beset by several injuries and was let go from the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League within a year of being signed. Soon after, his girlfriend broke up with him. “That was my absolute worst time,” he told Express. The candid comments about depression from such a successful actor, known for both his bubbly personality and tough-guy persona, brought on a wave of responses, including from advocacy organizations promoting the help they offer. The Lifeline tweeted “If you feel like you have no reason to live, call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) for help and support.” On Twitter, someone wrote: “I know it will help a lot of people to see someone so confident that also had issues with it. Myself included.” Johnson replied: “Hey man I get it . . . Stay strong and make sure you’re talking to good people about it . . . No shame in getting help and wanting to be better.” Johnson told Express that he and his mother “both healed but we’ve always got to do our best to pay attention when other people are in pain. We have to help them through it and remind them they are not alone.” – Washington Post

  3. We are Better at the QB position (Nichols and Durant and any rookie are Better than what we had last year) Status quo at RB (Possibly better as we may see looks with Harris/Demski/ Lafrance/Flanders all in motion giving defenses fits) Better at receiver ( with or without having to start 2 Canadians) though depth is suspect at this time O-line we are weaker with loss of Bond ( Still a top 3 team in terms of O-line tho...depth could be issue if we get nailed with injuries) D-line we are better even with loss of Westerman. (Being able to go all import is going to help and Corney and Ekakite are going to be better as they grow too...no concerns there) DB's are better as more depth and more experience. Heath loss if you ask me is a no big deal... Linebacking...weak last year...and still concerns this year until we see who..what..and where is on field and if scheme was issue last year or personnel. ST's...status quo...and most likely better this year as Medlock had off year and punt return was non existent for better part of the yr...so any production at all from there will make us upgraded..and our cover teams were lights out for most part and we added Fenner who is a demon This team should be a 12-6 team again and if the defense steps up at all and corrects the issues that plagued it you can maybe factor in an extra win there..possibly 2...especially if the offense keeps evolving...can't see it taking a step backward this year..so a 13-14 win season if you ask me isn't far fetched...

    2018 CFL Draft

That is just the way drafts go. The NFL draft is the biggest sports related event in April again this year, and mock-drafts are an industry. They will be starting the 4th round and there will still be players available from everyone's "top 50 players". Agents, colleges and players put out all kinds of information leading up the draft, some of it may even be true. Teams will "leak" inside information that is meant to be complete smoke screens. It is crazy how many of the players drafted will say that their new team showed no interest in them leading up to the draft. Another problem with the CFL draft is the wildcard about NFL interest. That speculation will move players up and down entire rounds. No way do the Bombers take Faith last year if that wasn't a concern with other eligible players. That said, mock drafts are fun to read and discuss.

  8. I think that the business model is wrong. Played in cities that were too big as teams got lost due to lack of coverage or no one cares. Having to compete with the NHL, NBA, MLB & NFL. The rent for games played in 15-20,000 arenas is expensive. No national & local TV & radio deals as well as lack of sponsors both local markets & national. Relying on ticket sales mostly. Brand is broken with so many teams folding... Other arena leagues doing better playing in smaller cities with smaller buildings. Lots of reasons why the AFL is struggling.

  14. Minnesota looks like it salted away the #3 spot with their win last night. Not mathematically clinched but one more point any way does it. With the #1 defence pairing of Suter and Spurgeon out long term, and the short travel, I believe the Jets got the best possible match-up they could hope for in the first round. I would imagine Nashville would hope to pair up against Colorado (especially without Varlamov) as opposed to St. Louis (who are really inconsistent and likely road kill, but could find a way to have their talent play up to their capabilities and get a goalie go red-hot, and make life difficult for their opponent), or even more so Anaheim or LA (long travel, 2 heavy teams that know how to play tough playoff hockey, although if Gibson is injured Anaheim loses a ton there).

  16. How MLB shakes out is my biggest concern. I'm still worried about the defense giving up big yards through the air. Fenner is a very good addition, though. On the D-line, Westerman is a loss but I expect Jeffcoat, Okpalaugo, and Roh to carry the load; here's hoping Ekakitie takes the next step and becomes an impactful asset on the interior. On the other side of the ball, I think the offense has improved even with the loss of Bond on the O-line. Bowman alone is a massive addition to the air attack and if Demski or Wolitarsky can take that next step, all the better. I'm also hopeful we see more from Coates this season. ST will continue to be consistent and a strong phase of this team. I also expect Medlock, who's been relied on a ton the last two seasons, to be better and fresher with a lessened workload (based on an offense that should be able to move the ball more easily and with increased production). Just my two pennies.

  30. This is in part a good point. I think it needs to be clarified that its the NFL that is declining. Its of course not in any danger. But i feel the ncaa and hs levels are steady as she goes. A start up league could have a better chance now then ever at carving out a living as a sub nfl level league. The nfl has lost market share, that means more is available. That said the chances of actually capitalizing on that is exceedingly slim. The NFL is a financial institute. Its monetary entertainment. The room for growth is in cultural institutes like the CFL. The amount of CFL you can sell to americans with out a team is pretty limited though. If they brought back some thing like the USFL, and planted it in smaller US markets that dont have a chance at a NFL franchise they could build some thing. But getting the money, and tv deals with that is very hard. two fledgling start up leagues also pretty much ensures they will fail. UFC on fox isnt a good measuring stick, especially last year. The ufc has done a worse and worse job of putting decent shows on for ufc on fox. The last year and a half has been worse yet compounded by the amount of money fights, championship/star turn over, and scandal. Soccer is here to stay, and gigantic with kids. But I think youd have a better chance of opening up two successful nfl alternative pro football leagues in the us then of getting soccer into the top 4 pro sports in the us.

Looking for a why for anything this Prik does is easy. 1. Does it make money for a.) him b.) his kids. c.) his friends d.) Some Russian billionaire that has him by the nads. 2. Does it undo whatever Obama did. 3. Does he think it Improving his "ratings" 4. Does it undermine "an enemy" Other than those things, absolutely nothing Trump does makes any sense whatsoever. His own man called him a moron. Probably an overestimate.
