  1. For the most part, the article isn't wrong but when it is, it's way wrong. He has ST as a toss up but says "If James Letcher Jr. is in the lineup, his one play game-breaking ability is king and Montreal gets the nod", which is absolutely insane. Letcher had zero return touchdowns of any kind this season (and just 1 TD last year) while Vaval has four. But yeah Ferguson, you go on about a crazy game breaking ability that doesn't seem to exist and completely ignore the guy who should (imo) win ST player of the year. Not saying Letcher is a bad returner but Vaval was clearly the best this year so that should be a slam dunk category for us.

  2. I don't even wanna take the chance of a replay... I'm not mentally strong enough to handle that. The sooner they're gone, the sooner they're NOT playing in our barn at all... No chance of them winning here. Good riddance to bad rubbish and all that...

  3. So how I'm reading this is for the love of Gawd we need our BB's back in the show for the 6th straight time please and thank you. 🙂

  5. We can all agree we want to see the Riders lose the WF, preferably in the most humiliating fashion possible.

  6. Hopefully the league takes a look and takes appropriate action if any of those allegations are substantiated.

  7. It's funny that there is an entire cohort of CFL players who dont know anything but the Blue Bombers making the Grey Cup. Most teams are only going to have single digit players who have been in the league more then 5 years.

  8. actually had 4 tfl, more than Awe and Sankey, and 3 sacks, both more than any other mlb in the league

  9. I'm always shocked at the lack of respect for Deatrick Nichols, but he never has stats... Just always locks down and rarely gets thrown at.

  10. Oh STFU. Quit taking one little thing, completely misreading it and blowing it into something it's not. Show me where I'm defending him. All I said was it's normal for Walters (not every GM), this is his track record and has been for a while. That's not being an apologist or being critical as I didn't give an opinion one way or another on his approach. FWIW, I would prefer if he was more visible and I'm definitely not satisfied with the work that was put in this year (from him or MOS).

  11. I find Ferguson to be one of the most useless people in CFL media (and that says a lot). His work is often just terrible, uninformed takes that aren't worth reading.

  14. not sure what your issue is with Jones. He has the second most tackles in the league and ahead of the next bomber by a mile. The bomber d is in the top 3 against the rush as well. He's also 2nd in the league in total defensive plays

  15. Tony Jones as western nominee all-star? Has happy hour started early?

  16. Vaval has four touchdowns and 11 returns of more than 30 yards and is tied for second in punt return average (12.8, behind Wooten's 15.0) ... the CFL does not track individual fumble stats but I'm pretty sure that Vaval nets out to a positive ...

  17. The only new guys I've seen play that are worth a snot are Bailey, and Jenkins. The other guys are not any better than the guys ahead of them. Jenkins is brand new, so Bailey is really the only guy we can question legitimately as to why he never got playing time. Woods and Woodby have been good but not great. Who else you got? You say guys came in and made a difference but there are just as many that didn't. Dillon Mitchell, J. Jones, and others played their way off the team lickety split so we can't say that new guys being held back was our problem. It wasn't. Fact of the matter is that Walters whiffed badly this offseason. Very badly and if we are relying on rookies to come in and be all stars then we are in really bad shape because that just won't happen consistently for any team. Glad we got a couple guys that look like keepers but it is nonsense to suggest that the talent was there. It wasn't and isn't. I don't mind the criticism of MOS, but it is comical how people are hating so much that a GM who really screwed the pooch is getting benefit of the doubt because of this hate. The players underperformed , the GM underperformed, and the coaching underperformed....and here we are. I think that is probably the fairest assessment I've seen on this forum this year. The players didn't underperform because of MOS, the GM didn't underperform because of MOS, and MOS/coordinators didn't underperform because of the GM/players either. They all have to own their roles in this **** show. Pinning it all on MOS is really glossing over other deficiencies that we really need fixed.

  18. He actually explains his some of his reasoning in #8 (and he's probably not wrong): "The bottom line, however, is that most CFL fans are sick of seeing the Blue Bombers make it to the Grey Cup every year, which would throw a blanket on the excitement for this matchup." I know if it was the Riders in 5 straight GC's, I'd want to see anybody but them... thankfully that will never happen for the filthy 4 stripes. 😂

  19. Whatever reasons Walters has for failing to do his job are his choices. Whether that is giving MOS too much say or whatever he owns it 100%. He's the GM.

  21. Reading his body language... that guy has zero confidence and those canned generic answers is just him reading off a script. No way he is back next year, they need to bring in someone with experience and without a deer in the headlights look.

  22. Ya I'd rather a GM that's just putting in the work and not having to answer to the media. Obviously we had some problems this year that can be linked to a seemingly rough offseason, but I'm sure we'll hear more about that after the seasons over in a few weeks....

  23. De up here..and dt...easiest to just drop a new guy in and be relatively seamless from u.s to Canadian game...translates easiest even with the 1 yard off ball Yeah...always said we don't utilize guys properly...and i have some unease too...and by that I mean in regards to Osh crippling us with a bad roster...my hope he has learned from the past..lord knows he has had 3 good seasons now worth of learning...but that being said if we bow out with nary a whimper its gonna be due to coaching and coaching decisions...not so much talent...well "healthy" talent i should say...hope im wrong

  30. so who would you have chosen as allstar lb instead ? In the east Mcmanis didn't play enough. In edm Morgan and ANderson were hurt. And as for research looked at CFL stats, Given whos voting thats gonna be one of the criteria they use to vote .Maybe we'll get a better idea when the players select the allstars. Thurman seems the most consistent mlb but hes not great at making big plays either. None of the mlb's are in the class of outside lbs Pickett and Beverette..

  31. my problem with Jones is that, while yes he's good... but he's not a difference maker... and the team seems content with a 30 year old, above average MLB for the foreseeable future... I'd prefer if they were constantly trying to uncover a superstar and not just settling for "good enough"...

  32. Vaval has has a lot of upside....AND for a rook who has eclipsed a lot of other returners in 25' is certainly going to be in our line-up for quite awhile....He does have a tendency to try for extra yardage, that results in a few give-aways....something I'm sure he will correct as his experience grows....Who knows he eventually might get us to forget Janarion..........

  33. This happens every year across every sport, I'm not sure why people are confused. The people who are voting are going to more or less looking at the box score. There are 2 riders with plenty of picks, they make it to the list even though they both didn't play a chunk of the season. The is one Bombers on the list, despite the Bombers secondary being top of the west in most metrics (other than picks)

  34. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty sad sack when it comes to venues but you gotta let the East have them too because they (whether we like it or not) are our league's only hope of survival.

  35. He also pretends that Wheatfall is the #2 because of stats alone.

  36. No,. it's not normal for a GM to go silent for half a year but c'mon. There's excuses & then there's apologists like this. Walters has mailed it in since he signed his now expiring contract. In a Grey Cup hosting year which makes it even worse.

  40. I don't follow basketball...all I recall is he won a lot...and when it mattered...no? Correct me if a wrong ...but i will also say id rather go 9-9..8-9...and win the championship than have a reg season high win total and neglect your depth and grind your guys into a nub when you could have let backups play and get exposed and lose in the big game...repeatedly

  41. that either means day off, or out long term. in this case i suspect they aren’t hurt thankfully. No kidding. I’ve got an uneasy feeling about this game. big dude too. Reminds me a little of ceresna. Not as heavy, But easily looks strong enough to tear it up at 3t/4i and book end. It’s insane how many outliers we have on the dl, and how few of them we use.

  43. Yup. Flashing a hit on kick cover doesn’t always mean you have a good cover guy or a good fit here. But, he almost blocked a punt with his physicality and motor, and most importantly imo, the play where he charged down field and pancakes his blocker was soo much more. That’s the type of selfless play that goes a long way both here and in general. Hes got the athleticism, physicality, motor, and drive to succeed any time you put him on. Which as a dl is soo much more value in the cfl. Hes a really polished pass rusher with tremendous tools and just gets it. Teams players at lber are default because they are big enough to beat out half the skill position players physically and still fast enough to get down field. The under sized db types offer a lot less unless they can actually cover wrs. Linemen who can run fast enough to cover kicks are gold.
