Upon reflection, I feel like Zach is the least of our problems right now. We have a few players playing at or above expectations and most everyone else ranges from meh to terrible.

Thought after schmekel got hurt the tackles got gassed badly, especially Thomas and the effectiveness nose dived, particularly against the run. Honestly this game was only close because of a pants on head ******** penalty by a rider db... 3rd and 14 and you take a PI penalty near your endzone? That's embarrassing. It was a classic death by 1000 stupid things. Backbreakingly ill timed penalties... giving a first down being offside on a punt, giving up 2 first down plays on penalties... those IMO lost them the game more than anything. The OL was ******* gross. Was a play early on neufeld looks to pass off a guy to Kolankowski and neither guy blocks anyone and collaros has a guy right right at him unimpeded.... what the **** do these guys donin practise?

Comments on the game from the cheap seats (my big ass recliner): Is Nichols playing injured? It sure looked like it last night. I've watched a lot of CFL this season and it looks like all of the O-linemen (usually our opposition) must have taken that league seminar on holding very seriously.😉 Anyone else notice that Hardricke seems to "jump up" on basically every play. Illegal Procedure? Why would the Bomber Tall Foreheads hire a novice OC when the Grey Cup is here this season? Streveler in on first and goal and then leaving him in on second and goal was a puzzler. Where was Collaros? Where was Oliveira? There was another instance where it was second and very short and a Collaros roll-out/pass was called resulting in a sack. Yikes! Even the 2-point convert attempt call had me scratching my head. The OC is in way over his head, IMO. This isn't uni or junior football. Collaros made a couple of beauty tosses to the end zone but more often than not he's guilty of underthrowing the ball. Although his underthrow of Demski near the end resulted in the PI and a chance to tie/win. Schoen definitely came up lame on the 2-point attempt. It makes me wonder about the team docs. If a missed RTP can be challenged (I think), why can't a missed face mask call (very obvious) be challenged? Or, did SK think it wasn't worth it? Kolankowski made a nice block (and ball spike) on Oliveira's TD. However, for the bulk of the game, he was totally out of it. Seriously, I saw him literally standing around disengaged on most plays. The guy seems less than a pylon. Anytime that I see two of our Canuck DTs on the field at the same time, I cringe. It's amazing but with all of the coaching blunders (I really think that we're a poorly coached and prepared team.) and the lack of adequate talent a certain positions, we were still in the game. And, since this is the CFL....just make the playoffs and....You got to love the CFL! I'll be at the Banjo Bowl with my wife (She's not been to one.) and I'll be joining the chorus in making life miserable for Harris et al. Go Bombers Go!

1 hogan, fire his ass 2 mos, mr roster management 3 interior ol, bad game all around. ch so many to pick from, but 5 carries for brady honorable mentions, zach, kev, demski, lawson, kyrie. Dishonorable mentions, nichols, jones, wallace, neuf, kola, thomas, wj, the refs, the entire coaching staff Crunch of the game, cadwallader on the kick cover that was nearly a S. block of the game, n/a because we didn’t block any one.

considering our system, the wrs not working well with zach, how frequently he was hit last night and the fact we couldn’t and didn’t try to run, zach did every thing and more you could ask. Yes his arm is significantly reduced from what it was, and his tendency to hold it too long hurts us some times. but he did what you need to do to win considering the position he was in. Oc, then kola, then wrs. that’s the hierarchy of problems on our O imo. after that it’s qb depth. thing is, a better oc could have our wrs atleast working back to zach or playing scramble rules properly, and put guys in better position to be used. If you fire hogan tomorrow and promote jackson, bench kola, and have a real battle for the starting wr spots, i think you see our offence improve drastically and quickly.

What the hell is our OC thinking. Second and less than a yard and you don’t sneak for a first? Get it you have 35 seconds to execute at least 3 plays and if you fail field goal anyway! Even a pee wee coach can figure that out. What BS! And the online is Swiss cheese second half is going to be very painful

Really wish our play calling on offense showed any recognition of our shortcomings personnel wise .. or the game situation … or the down and distance … or literally anything It’s barely one step above just spinning a wheel and calling whatever it lands on

Just to revisit the Shay pick, Walters literally said “we thought he was the best defensive player in the draft” So here’s my question If you think you got the best defensive player in the draft but the best defensive player in the draft isn’t good enough to get a single defensive rep in the first three months of the season, then why did we follow it up by drafting another defensive guy with our next pick? And a futures pick with our third pick? And trade up in the global draft to draft a defensive guy too? In a home Grey Cup year, if this guy isn’t good enough to see snaps then maybe we should’ve tried to do something else with that pick, no? or is O’Shea just not utilizing this guy properly? To me, that seems like the most obvious answer.

I love taking shots on 2nd and short... but you can not lose yards. Nothing there then the ball goes into the 5th row.

Willie/Vaughters/Person as a rotation is the least of our problems right now. I don’t mind that much, although I’d like to see a fourth player added.

In fairness to Allen, I think we need to decide what we want as a fan base. I’ve been asking to let the talented young guys play. I’m not going to get upset at a guy like Allen for a wildly obvious beat as a young player, it comes with the territory. I’ll take that over the (as an example) approximately 376 times Bighill didn’t blow a tackle because he was three steps away from being able to make one. The one thing I would like to see from Cam Allen is for him to realize the difference between when he needs to hit and when he needs to tackle. I’ve been overall decently happy with him other than that, even with the blown coverage yesterday.

Logan has been a disappointment. He doesn't look fast/quick to my eyes. Is he still not fully healed? Got to wonder about personnel decisions over the last few years.

Logan has been a waste of space. Woodbey was good, I'd keep him if we can. Get one of the Americans on at DT too. Don't care if it's adams or woods. As for OL preference is kolankowski sits but that won't happen so yeah get an American in the third spot.

Zach has lost yards on 2nd and short multiple times. Just more of the stupid self inflicted **** they do to themselves. They're still doing things on hard mode when they don't have the horses to overcome it anymore.

Because Kyle Walters created this **** by hiding under a rock during free agency. Letting too many of our quality free agents go & then not signing anyone as good or better. Now as fans we're expected to believe Walters can fix this mess? Then there's Osh & his roster mgmt which we lament game after game after game & nothing changes. That's mgmt. Some of our veterans are not playing well. Neufeld totally whiffed his block in the first quarter. It's lucky Zach didn;t get hurt. Wallace struggled. Zach was under pressure all game long. Things aren't improving for our OL as the season goes on. Our secondary got lit up in the second quarter, especially. I haven't seen this much chasing of receivers by our defensive backs since 2015 or 16. We play a 3 man front featuring you know who #95 way too much. Not convinced Dalton Schoen should be playing yet as he still looks like he favours his bad leg, especially on that 2 point conversion attempt. To me, Osh is panicking as he had no other options. I also think rushing Schoen back is a mistake as it'll just make him susceptible to reinjuring his knee again. Thanks for that, Kyle. What a bang up job you did as a GM last winter letting Lawler go. What does Nichols not understand about getting his ass out of the end zone? He stepped to his right & ran laterally getting tackled for a safety. Had he just stepped forward he'd have made it out to the one yard line. Peyton Logan should be cut. He's done nothing. Speaking of being cut, Hogan should be removed as OC & start carrying Jarious Jackson's playbook around everywhere he goes then maybe he'd learn something. He's just an awful play caller. Brady is being wasted out there. Hogan just gave up on the run game by mid second quarter. Opps, too hard. Not working today... Instead of keeping at it. Pounding Brady to wear down the Riders D. But we know Osh, he'll circle the wagons & growl at the media & fans alike like he did tonight. Yet do nothing.

Draw or screen because D drops 8 at 15+ yards depth in those situations into quarters...which is basically the D Calgary is playing as their base this season. All you have on O is getting the ball out to someone and hoping they break a tackle or two.

I’m not quite as down on the BBs as much. Overcame a lot of mistakes to almost tie it. Showed some heart and resilience. Need to clean up some penalties and TOs for the Banjo Bowl.

Bombers didn’t deserve to win that whatsoever but regardless that was total bush from the officials at the end.

Hate the play call there as that is a tough throw regardless.
