  1. This site is getting dangerously close to unreadable on a daily basis. We've been losing regular contributors because of it, which is a shame... Feels like the Jim Daley/Tim Burke/Lapo era of darkness based on some of the posts, and not an unmatched generational winning streak on and off the field...

  3. We are a really good team, we are still one of the best in the league, yes we have a couple guys long in the tooth, and yes rookies don't get on our roster as quick as some other teams, and yes for some unknown to us reason we don't dress a real back-up DE.......and we definitely discuss these concerns, as this forum is for, but with so much negativity in the mainstream news, fires in our backyard and the crap going on in other parts of the world etc. I like to try and focus on the positives where I can. -A win has us tied for first, far better than last year's start..... -The teams finances are the envy of the league... -We are facing down our 8th sellout.... -We have improved beer choices at the game..... -When we go to Sask. we get to leave after..... Go Blue, we will be rested and have solid film to work off, let's get back in W column!

  4. All of them. Crazy to suggest that MOS should be fired. Absolutely nuts. I can't even believe that people on this forum are suggesting MOS should be fired. Can he improve some flaws...absolutely but this guys has coached us to 5 straight Grey Cups. I can't believe the entitlement some fans around here are showing. Good gravy. I'm not suggesting MOS is the perfect coach, but the smear campaign against him is baffling. Our team hasn't been this competitive and strong since the 80's, FIred? Really?

  5. While we're making things up. I think the rise in pre-game beer and hotdog prices points to the financial struggles this team is facing.

  8. Trevor Harris is the player of the week - a QB who generated 10 points? Allllllrighty then.

  9. 100 percent, every conversation keeps on circling back to O’Shea and ends up being regurgitating the same thing over and over again..

  10. No this week the coach is playing the wrong new guy. Maybe the disconnect is with the OC and offensive coaching staff. Mitchell was signed before they were.

  11. So what that is, is Walters heard the ask from their camp and moved on. Simple as that. If walters decides a guy is going to get too much money he seems to just go on to the next. Players of course get all butthurt because they figure everyone should be kissing their feet.

  12. The west is really confusing this year. Each team has looked good and bad. Though to be fair to cgy, their bad game came with absolute crap weather. Buuut that doesn't bode well for later in the year either.

  13. He got a chance last year and in both pre seasons. Hasn’t done any thing as a wr or kr. But luckily you don’t have to produce to keep a spot here. honestly to soon to tell. We don’t know who is really good until teams face real adversity in season. half the league has been decimated by qb injuries so far this year. But luckily most don’t seem like long term injuries.

  19. So you said acceptable offer... that to me doesn't necessarily mean asking price, it means a starting point in his opinion. Cause I remember listening to Walters year end presser last year and he basically went through a bunch of guys (including Ford) that he said we're going to be getting paid and he was doubtful they'd be able to bring them back. What we have going on here now is a disconnect between coach and GM. We got a gm willing to move on from players and a coach resistant to playing new guys. Something will give eventually

  20. there apparently was no plan....looks like a wait it out and our guys will come back....and we will run it back again with the same ol same ol...and when some of the same ol same ol moved on for whatever reason....we were just scrap heaping at that point....the only significant guy we signed is languishing on the 1 game IR so nobody steals him off our PR...Or he just flat out say fack right off of we tried to PR him...., and Logan who has been hurt Pretty apparent we didnt make a legit offer to any free agent who could have helped us....status quo we go again cause when you look 4..5 yrs back...we had success

  21. HO HUM slacking attitude that things will just work out and guys will sign.....thats not an isolated incident either

  22. the stubbornness tho has resulted in 3 straight avoidable losses...that cant be ignored and the fact he STILL refuses to alter hios ways cant be either....thats my gripe I agree he has more good qualities than bad....but the bad ones are fatal ones....and that has to change. That being said he is not the be all end all and if we were to move on...or he was to choose to move on...we'd be just fine....and could be even better too...who knows....But I doubt we would find another guy who refuses to use the rules allowed cause he doesn't like them....or refuse to play his best players too.... We have a good team....yeah...not great...and looks to be one of the weaker ones in the last 5 yrs tho, as other teams have clearly got better....so right now until I see a few more games and maybe a bit of a shift in what we do....I not super convinced we will be challenging for anything yet

  23. To keep this theme going, the only reason our team has enjoyed great success over the last 5 years is REFS!

  24. Great...he has flaws...ALL coaches do. All coaches tend to be stubborn as well especially when their stubborness results in 5 straight Grey Cup appearances. If you are arguing that MOS has flaws you have no argument, if you are arguing he is not a very good HC then the facts and lists you speak of are completely applicable because they demonstrate elite success levels. Suggesting lists and facts as "cherry picking" is like you pointing to roster management on a daily basis as somehow negating all the excellent work he does as a HC to make this team a top contender year in and year out. That, too, is cherry picking your argument. Their is a heck of a lot more positive then negative to discuss, but we don't hear it much around here. We have another team this year that looks like it will challenge for a Grey Cup. Anyone thinking that should be automatic and without adversity is dreaming in technicolor. We will have highs and lows all season long that hopefully will culminate in another Grey Cup. This team steamrolled through it's first 3 games, got humbled in one. This is not some kind of disaster. We are still a top tier team capable of winning it all.

  26. Mitchell has proven he can play and make a difference.....Case has not....and is not the type of receiver we need either Part of our narrative here as well is that guys are able and supposed to play in different positions...so if he is unable to...which is B.S then why is he here? he totally deserves the bashing he gets in several areas...denying it just makes you an Oshea sycophant

  27. You mean like the fact that between 1/4 and 1/3 of all his cfl snaps have been at slot? How many snaps at slot do you think Kase has taken that are more productive than Mitchell at slot?
    2 points
  28. Will give case a chance, but like everyone you gotta produce to keep that spot. I am still less concerned with the receivers and more concerned with collaros and thr DL.

  29. I believe we can get better pressure with better rotation. We need another actual DE on the roster. Looking at the forecast 24C 90% chance of rain and wildfire air advisories.....if we are under 8 and even able to play, it will be Smokey and humid, guys will will need rotation on Friday.

  31. Case had just over 1100 yards in 4 years at South Dakota and then had no receptions his year at Illinois. Must be amazing in practice.

  32. In terms of Walter’s approach. I think he gets a sense pretty early on if a player is going to listen to offers in the tampering window. And in those cases they want to wait and see what the guy is being offered before going above what they think is fair value for a player. The idea that Winnipeg would have been able to retain Ford had they communicated in a different way sounds like cope from Ford. He took the money and the chance to play with his brother. But nobody going to say they did it for the money. Given how difficult it is to keep a good team good for long term in a salary cap era I think they’ve done alright. We’d be in a better position if they’d been better at recruited Defensive ends over the years. They seem to cap out at serviceable when it comes to defensive end recruits.

  37. I think every one of those games was winnable, with the exception of last year, and that is because our QB got injured and our backup was out all season basically. Can anyone really say that we weren't one or two plays away from winning the other two Grey Cups? I don't think you can. I mean Fajardo throws a punt on 2nd and 25 and somehow completes it......that summed up our 4th Q in a game we dominated for 55 minutes. Honestly, it has left the realm of football discussion already. Forest fire smoke? MOS did it.

  46. Most fans aren't in the shape of a football player. The average man & woman expend a lot of energy climbing up & down stairs as they're out of shape. Parents brought babies & little kids to the game & their immunity systems haven't developd like that of adults. Is any long term damage being done being exposed to the noxious chemicals in the smoke? I'd bet that never came up in the hours long discussion between the CFL, CFLPA & TSN on rescheduling the game. The only safety issue to those 3 was protecting the players but not the fans. The league doesn't take that into consideration. Decisions need to be made much quicker with a whole set of different parameters neded to speed things up. Making people wait like that for hours in those conditions was absolutely ludicrous.

  47. To be fair, that was like 67 years ago. Medical science and treatment has improved since then 😉

  48. My 2 cents... The league got bogged down in logistics for Calgary and completely forgot about the fans. How they handled this was completely ridiculous. They've significant shortened how long they will delay games for thunderstorms, but an air quality delay can be indefinite? Policy should be the call is made based on the numbers 1 hour before the game. At the latest. 1.5-2 hours would be more reasonable. If they want, have the decision made in consultation with public health in the city or someone like that. The CFL can't seem to figure out their own parameters on what is safe or not, or whether it's Labour Day and we can't cancel or not. Take the decision out of their/TSN's hands then. Need to have some respect for the health, safety and time of the customers.
