  1. Tis true...I have no faith tho that an unknown will get a true shot...and we just lean on broken down and inadequate stuff...we've seen that so g and dance before There no reason a fresh face can't come in and be impactful..this notion they all need a yr or 2 of seasoning is garbage I banged the Garbutt drum all 2023 yr he should have been given a shot...never happened...a yr on the inactive roster didn't make him arguably our best all.arpund de this yr...playing did Same this yr with Person...he is an even better player...actual true impact guy and was a legit NFL rush specialist projection but some teams wanted him to pack on weight and he didn't want to.

  3. From the 90s even. They said after the game in comries last 7 games the team has scored like 11 goals. That’s less than 2 per game.

  4. I also don’t have a ton of faith, but I’m also of the mindset (and so far, it’s playing out that way) that we may have quite a few open spots this year so O’Shea might not have a choice

  5. Would of looked good here...we could have easily shipped off someone Yeah...moving away from some.money to likely better themselves with new..younger talent..aka not standing pat even tho they have won 2 of last 3 cups...that's how u continue to stay on top...maybe while osh is off on his mentoring excursion and not dialed into his duties here in a key time some of that Toronto way of.doing stuff rubs on to him...or maybe a light bulb goes off

  6. Just to reiterate this, since I’ve seen it mentioned a couple times in this thread. the Bombers didn’t do Wilson a solid at all, they don’t have a choice. I don’t know why teams typically word it as a release, it’s a player opt-out that the teams have no ability to deny as long as it’s within the time the option window is open (January 6 to mid-February) Wilson opted out of his contract and signed an acknowledgment that if he returns to the CFL, it’s under the terms of the previous contract he opted out of.

  7. Honestly, given the scouting additions we just made, I want them to have every opportunity to go out and find the next Orimolade instead of bringing one in on a big price tag. These are guys that can find impact front 7 guys

  8. Elks released Dillion Mitchell. I thought he was going to be a super star when he came in the league half way through the 2022 season but he never really ended up being that guy. I wonder if a team takes a chance on him. He’s only 27.

  9. They also need to start finding some better American OTs. They seem to grow on trees for the Argos.

    All things considered...

It was a one score game at the time of Zac's injury. Also, I am not sure why everyone is talking like Toronto and Montreal were gimme. These were very good teams that would require us to step up and execute at a very high level in order to win. Some players let us down in that regard. BS to coaching being the biggest issue. It was a factor, for sure, but at the end of the day these teams beat us by capitalizing on our players mistakes, and our players didn't step up enough to make them pay for theirs.

  13. I think that’ll be the case. Plus with soo much front office turnover, I think we see things run a bit differently now. Hes sub lawler/schoen but close to the top tier of WRs. That said I think that’s pretty much top dollar for WRs now. I don’t think any one is handing out 285-300k for WRs any time soon. Lawler already came back for less, he’s about to turn 31, hasn’t played 18 games in one season ever, and only eclipsed 1k yards once (by 13 yards). Hes done a lot in limited time, and on any given game day you’d be hard pressed to have a better guy to throw to up here. But I don’t see teams risking big dollars on him now. I think he remains a bomber for a bit over 200k. Schoen the question of when he will be ready and how close to 100 he will be is big. Buck would be the biggest threat to scoop either imo, but they already have a wr to lock up and lots of money spent. I think the guys that’ll be hard to retain are Dobson, ford, holm and I could see teams trying to drive up the market on Lofton to hurt our cap space.

  15. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/11/cfl-wont-hold-neutral-site-touchdown-series-game-in-2025-report/ No td Atlantic type game this year. Which is fine by me. We don’t have a viable market for a 10th team in Atlantic Canada or an owner.

  27. WOW. Toronto out here swinging. Looks to me like they are hoarding ni talent, saving bucks and expecting to be able to just churn out new imp talent with ease. Ballsy moves this year for them. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Qft

  30. Plenty of reasons we have struck out .....in the last 3 Cup games. But seriously.........hard to win the big one......when you don't get the Quarterbacking.

  31. Oc is for sure a big deal for us. We have to get that person in place before the legal tampering period imo. Really, asap would be great. Who ever it is they are going to be installing a whole new offence (albeit with some hold overs from previous years.) and they will need to put in a lot of work with zach, and marty. For my money, Sunderland is among the best guys in the league at scouting front 6 players.

  32. The Bombers article specifically mentions that the new guys will be working with McManus so it looks like he's staying put.

  33. I really wanted Deslauriers to join our staff We didn’t release him early

  34. Jauch is a massive score. Very happy with that pick up. Deslauriers is a sneaky good pick up. Im expecting he will lead the canadian scouting. Sunderland is a kind of polarizing guy, thats a big surprise to me. Edit, All 3 get the title of Senior Director of Player Personnel.

The offense has been **** the past 3 grey cups. But big changes to the offense regardless this offseason so see what happens.

Darvin Adams and Andrew Harris wish that were true. We played good football in those games, other teams played better. In this last GC we were seriously hampered by ZC's injury.

  39. Kramdi is getting better every year, I think they'd want to keep him busy closer to the action so he can make plays, not back at Safety where he may only get 3 or 4 interactions per game. I think his weakness would be in deep coverage against speed.

Because age and cost is going to force the GMs hand. I mean it's unheard of the amount of continuity this team has already had since 2019... now that the shine has worn off somewhat changes are inevitable.

any player will tell you...and you will read it in press all the time that the coaches prepare and put the players in the position/situation to succeed.....and yes it is up to the players as well to perform and get the job done.....wont argue....but if the players are not put in position/coached./schemed to succeed then it doesn't matter how well they perform a flawed game plan.....its not gonna rep any rewards....and going rogue and bucking the game plan doing your own thing...even if it is the better thing is the fastest way to get benched...stuffed on the PR or flat out cut...well a good staff would would do that. We lost 3 straight...yup....for a combination of reasons...poor play...poor scheme....absurdly bad rostering of injured guys even tho the HC professes all guys are starters and are here as they give us a chance to win, yet he doesn't even hiself follow that mantra...or seem to believe it...as it is a pile of crap essentially as they are not all starter material....some of our starters we lean on are no longer starter material, and the big fly in the ointment is we were outcoched/classed in all 3 losses....severely We went to 5 straight cups yup...but lost 3 straight we really shouldn't have for essentially the same reason...failure to roster accordingly....failure to dress guys who were truly playable, and failure to adjust the gameplan when adjustments were required, but instead relied on just trying to pound a square peg in a round hole solely because it worked before. That is 100 percent not on the players Going into 2025...what makes anyone believe that we will adapt and alter how we do things based on the past 5 yrs? Heck we weeks from free-agency and we haven't even got all our internal affairs in order yet and for what has been mentioned most the decisions right now are all on Walter's and Oshea.....doesn't give a warm fuzzy confident feeling to be honest knowing Osh will be parlaying for signing likely BA....Biggie...Jake....Wilson...not even considering looking for a punter...and likely already having decided that ZC is defacto starter evn if he is outplayed in camp/pre-season, or just looks to be regressing Call me a hater all you want.....but thats just being a realist...clubs that cling on to the past too long usually end up looking up at the teams who are adapting and evolving...

  44. I think the title of this thread is in very poor taste. People lost their lives & property down in the LA area. But that's okay, let's yuck it up for a hockey game. Not saying you should get rid of it but in your zeal to be clever maybe next time pause a second to think about it before you press Enter.

  45. Not just that. But not having any one in Teds Ast Gm spot. I really hope not, but I kind of worry we will. It's a big off season litmus test imo. How well and prudently we will the OC and front office spot. The rest of the coaching staff could be rounded out later. And the front office spot doesn't need to be an ast gm, but we need some one in that role. FA and the majority of rookie signings is a ton of work for the front office. We need all hands on deck. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/10/hamilton-tiger-cats-add-three-to-front-office-staff/ We just lost Cyril Penn to hamilton. Ted scooped him to be the new director of player personnel. That hurts. He has huge upside.
