Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

Too soon?  Too many truly painful Grey Cup losses have taken the sting out of yesterday's loss already.

Time to look forward while we cope with the recent disappointment.

Who do we keep?  Who do we let go?  Who do we go after?

Someone was going to start this thread at some point.

Grey Cup rematch only happening once (in Wpg), yet another missed opportunity by the league/MLSE to sell tickets in Toronto.

Altho we always play bad in Toronto so maybe I'm fine with it 🤣

I was just going to say that. I hate playing in that shopping mall atmosphere. Always seem to lose or barely win. Might be a good thing lol.

Hoping for more cheap flights next summer and be a STH again. Had so much fun his past year.

I find it so absurd in a 9 team league we can’t play a home and away against every team. It still gives us the chance to play a third game against two rivals. Ridiculous.

It used to always be that way, but I think the third bye week thrown in there really messes up the schedule.

Clear attempt to artificially balance the East/West records.

We play each Western team 3 times and only TO and OTT once.

I don't mind Thursday's. I end up taking the Friday after the game off of work. It's nice since it does not get in the way with any weekend plans.

Too many Thursday games. My work is fine with taking the following day off, but will be rough for the Mrs.... I understand why they have the Thursday night games, but it makes it hard for her to enjoy them knowing she's gonna have to drag her ass in the next day.

Looking at Edmontons schedule, they may not have a home win until week 12 (Aug 24th)…..that would be like 10,000 days between home wins.

They should break the streak in Week 1 - the CFL gave them the Riders that early for a reason.

July 1 at Percival Molson. It’s a wicked good time if you can pull it off.

couple things...

-I think the Bombers specifically ask for Thursday games in the summer. They love as many home games as possible in the summer. Best atmosphere in the league, bar none, is IGF in the summer. Few places I'd rather be. And the Thursday nighters have done well for them, I think, because it's before people head off to the cottage.

-As has been mentioned, I've got no problems with as few eastern games as possible, because we always seem to **** our pants while out east. No idea why, but I'd rather only play them at our house and then play as many West games as possible.

Interesting tidbit....

Ah yes, the age old debate... Which matters more? Rest or Roster?

Overall I like this schedule. One home game looks like I need to miss but no home games while I hope to be away in August.

Montreal road game on July 1st is exciting, already sent the wife a note on that one. I wish the game in BC was any Friday but the one before Thanksgiving, might still try and make that one work as I could travel home Saturday and not mess with family dinners. Hmm...

Calgary and Saskatchewan getting byes before playing us…shocked.

I hadn't noticed this wrinkle to the sched, but apparently there's a bunch of Sunday night games in an attempt to bring in US audience......
