Hopefully you guys can learn from AB and lock it down hard and fast. Even just for a month, to give the vaccines a chance to work.

Regarding Iso's dog-whistle Sun "Media" article..... there's a reason they're telling people to continue wearing masks and keeping distance at all times......we're not out of the woods yet. But getting a single dose into as many people as possible, is still the best course of action.

Just do the math! You have 30% less cases that's good! Then of the remaining people who do unfortunately get sick more than half won't get seriously sick. Is that not exactly what we want? And as supply grows for this brand ******* new vaccine we can get more people a 2nd dose in a more timely manner.

Something, something, comfortable plateau...

I keep having this argument with people. "It isn't Pallister's fault...people aren't following the rules!".

Well, when your rules are inconsistent and make no sense, people look at them and decide to ignore them. It is really hard to convince someone to follow rule A (no visitors at home!), when rule B (but you can meet with friends on a crowded patio!) directly contradicts it. It gives you no credibility.

It is like parents giving warnings of punishments that never come. Eventually the kids ignore them. (guilty...parenting is hard)

Same thing in Alberta. Yes people aren't following the rules, however we have seen for a year now that not enough people will voluntarily follow the rules so they need to have teeth and be enforced. That falls on the government.

Waiting until 6pm on a Friday to impose new restrictions that will come into effect immediately? How horrible is our gov't??? It's going to be a mess!!!

...

Nice to see that they're doubling fines for repeat offenders that won't be paid. Why not triple them? Quadruple them?

There is a lot we could of done but the powers to be decided not to so now we will have a full on third wave as the government twiddles their thumbs trying to get people vaccinated and implementing new restrictions that should of been done a month ago

I've heard the city is going into full lockdown as of midnight tonight. Only essential stores open, only essential items for sale.

That makes sense. That's what they did last time.

Is anyone hearing anything about schools? My source has reported back yet.

Meanwhile poor Dr Roussin is in court getting grilled by morons instead of being allowed to do his job.

There is no reason for them to wait until 6pm tonight, other than trying to hide. No leadership from this gov't. It's pathetic.

Brian said earlier they've done the best they could do. Which, is probably true for this lot. Too bad they won't resign and allow proper leadership to take over this mess.

Yeah no kidding eh? Claiming incompetence is a bold strategy. Don't think it's the best one.

They have to wait for Dr. Roussin to get out of court.

I'd be curious to find out if the spike in cases has anything to do with the protests.
