The climate doesn't know that there is a pandemic on. It's still changing and, given that little was done to address the issues for 10 years, we need something. Oil is dying and throwing billions at it won't save it, despite the angry fist waving from Alberta.

lack of popularity is not the same as hatred. why did notley get death threats? Biden is converting the Federal goverment fleet to electric. Refusing to face the change that is happening in energy is folly. oil is a curse. little Denmark has a very large wind energy industry, cause 25 years ago, they planned for this. Alberta is too stupid, still, to do that. Alberta could give university course in deflection and blaming others.

  8. Good thing Laine got traded or he’d be unhappy being replaced by Copp and pushed to the 3rd line. And memo to Jack Roslovic - Copp is showing how to be patient and take advantage of an opportunity when it presents itself rather than holding out. And there may be better teams in the North and the TV networks would love Montreal-Toronto, but a Winnipeg-Edmonton playoff series would be some seriously amazing high event hockey to watch, based on the last few years of games between the 2 clubs. Last year’s 1-0 Jets shootout win was one of the best most entertaining games I have seen live for one that had zero goals for 65 minutes.

    Covid-19

I'm speaking from experience on this one. They very likely did mass testing in known clusters in the Northern region & now those are all complete Covid can really wreak havoc in a communal living situation, but it is also easier to identify and control, once you know it is there. With cases already dropping in the Winnipeg region, this was bound to happen, sooner rather than later. The rest of this week will tell the tale...

By all accounts Speller is not going to re-sign and early on there was a rumour that Argos will pursue him in FA. I guess it's not a rumour anymore. So, instead of losing him in free-agency why not at least getting something than nothing. Plus, Bombers has no leverage on this trade. Walters: Hi Pinball I want to trade you Speller I know you need a good versatile OL. Pinball: What do you want for him? Walters: I want at least a 3rd rounder. Pinball: No. We will just wait till he hit free-agency but thank you for asking. Pinball whispering: We already talked to him and we already have an agreement. 😁

yeah it was a given, especially with Neuf re-upping, and the depth we have. Allows us now to allocate some mid tier salary now to something of more need..especially in this Covid year where SMS will be a bit less available

That's just a cover for their bigottedness. They tricked a lot of fools into thinking they could bring back oil and gas jobs but they really have no appeal outside of their backasswards social conservative views. People are waking up and realizing that these are the wold rose not the pcs.

I f***ing hate this province sometimes....no question. I've been running news stories all day with clips from our provincial ag minister, and rather than promoting their own agenda, they default to complaining about what the federal government does. I would say most of the popularity of the UCP in AB is that they're anti-Trudeau. They've positioned themselves as this group who "stand up to the tyranny of Trudeau, who hates The West!!" which is all just horseshit and makes me ill when I hear them pound the table about it...

I always thought that a solution to this was a a system like they have in soccer where you have to pay the club for them to be released from their contract. Or the Japanese Baseball approach where you post your players ability and MLB team have to pay you to negotiate with that player. Would be a revenue stream for teams across the league.

All valid points, but giving up a Canadian centre who started 13 games “last” season to move up 4 spots in the 6th round of the draft seems pretty chintzy, unless we upgrade the pick of they sign him.

Specifically 6th round? Kienan LaFrance. FWIW where someone gets (or doesn't get) drafted doesn't mean much in the CFL. Speller himself didn't even get drafted but he's proven himself to be a quality player. 8th round. Nick Hallet was our 7th round pick.

Democrats better take the kid gloves off quickly, the Republicans are trying to rule like they are in power, they have none they lost the Senate and the Presidency along with the House back in '18, all the nut jobs need to be investigated, you can't bring guns to the floor of the house or dodge metal detectors, and most of all slap down Cruz and Hawley, try and play nice and they will run over you leaving you wondering how did this happen again.

The reality is that international spot oil prices are so low that gasoline prices lower in the Maritimes and Ontario than out west as a rule these days. So, all the Ontario petroleum companies need do is put out a call and they will get a lot of cheap oil fast. If you think this has not already been planned for, you would be wrong.

They're used to it by now. In the past they could use wads of dollar bills to insulate themselves from this but now, with the cupboard bare, this revelation will make them wince. A little. A very little. Good use of taxpayer money.

The Dubois trade makes things much better for Schief. He's going to have competition, although no one is taking his spot, and they should be able to alleviate some of this crazy TOI. He won't like playing fewer minutes but it will improve his health.

Masoli & his agent are nuts. He could have gone & been the man for another CFL team with more $$$ thrown in. Instead he took a Hometown Discount to be looking over his shoulder at Dane Evans chomping at the bit to play. Having 2 qbs like this is a luxury in the CFL because at some point there will be in juries & the Cats will be locked in with 2 expensive qbs to pay (CFL standards). Waitng another couple of weeks for offers to come in wouldn't have been a bad idea. O|ne or both of those guys will be unhappy at some point this season.

Virginia "Trump in heels" candidate says Capitol attack was justified — because of COVID rules. Amanda Chase says Capitol rioters were tired of being told "what we can and cannot do in the form of mandates" Virginia's leading Republican gubernatorial candidate, Amanda Chase, has justified the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol as a response to public health mandates in place to limit the pandemic, according to a recently surfaced video clip. Chase said the would-be insurrectionists who overran the Capitol while play-acting a ludicrous violent fantasy were actually concerned about "losing our Republic." A reporter from the British channel SkyNews approached Chase, a state senator from central Virginia who has described herself as "Trump in heels," at the Jan. 18 Lobby Day Patriot Food Drive in Richmond, asking for "a word for the rest of the world" about the Capitol riots. "They're looking in on America and wondering what on earth is going on here," the reporter wondered. Chase, who faces censure in the Virginia state legislature after referring to Capitol rioters as "patriots," said the attack was about "federal and state" mandates. "America wants freedom. They are tired of an overreaching federal government and state government telling us what we can and cannot do in the form of mandates. I don't think that's representative of our republic and people," she explained. "What we're seeing is a level of frustration like we've never seen in America, and here in Virginia, because people are concerned that we are getting away from a representative republic and are headed towards socialism and communism, in which the government makes all these decisions for us." The reporter asked Chase, who spoke at the Jan. 6 rally but left ahead of the riot, to clarify that she was referring to the attack itself: "Is that what was happening at the Capitol Building? Is that what it was all about?" "Absolutely. Absolutely," Chase replied. "I think the big concern is that we're losing our republic. It's been around for 400 years. We the people want to make sure to preserve our republic." [Fact check: The United States was founded in 1776, making it 245 years old this July.]

  50. I haven't google searched but I'm going to assume they replaced Pannizza. I tried Pannizza a year and a bit ago and it was terrible. It was a ghetto version of Za Pizza mixed with the ability to make sandwiches. I knew it wasn't going to last when the lady who served us was completely shitting on the place and the owner and how they barely are doing any business and how her hours were cut and how she's going to tell off the owner and quit on the spot soon. Lol. Bonus Point to this story: The lady didn't realize that I used to work with her when I was 15 at Mcdonalds and she was fired for stealing a box of monopoly cups, taking all the stickers and then trying to redeem them all at once at a different location which was owned by the same owner and where the owner had his head office lol. Not the sharpest person in the world.
