Damn... here's more: A little background: https://www.adl.org/education/references/hate-symbols/1488 "1488 is a combination of two popular white supremacist numeric symbols. The first symbol is 14, which is shorthand for the "14 Words" slogan: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children." The second is 88, which stands for "Heil Hitler" (H being the 8th letter of the alphabet). Together, the numbers form a general endorsement of white supremacy and its beliefs. As such, they are ubiquitous within the white supremacist movement " Who would have thought that following modern american politics, one would become versed in nazi imagery and symbolism...

  5. Lots of us enjoy attending a training camp practice or 2 when the football season starts. As I've been living in Calgary since 1990, I haven't gone to many Stamps practices although when my sons played pee wee football I did take them a couple of times. But that was 2 decades ago. However, when I lived in Winnipeg I always tried to make it to at least one training camp practice every year. When I was a teen, I was there nearly everyday. Do any of you have a Bomber practice that stand out in your memory you'd like to share as we're all missing football right now? My best memory was being 15 years old & riding my bike to practice at St Johns Ravenscourt School in Fort Garry. It's about a 30 minute bike ride one way but I did it a lot back then. In those days, training camp started June 15th. I would usually be writing exams at Churchill High School but they'd be just about finished. Then I could go to training camp if I wanted to. I remember one day in particular. Warm, muggy June day & the forecast was for scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon. When I left my house after lunch, it was a nice sunny day with just a few puffy clouds. During practice, the skies darkened & I was thinking I should leave but I wanted to see the afternoon scrimmage so I stuck around. Newcomer Don Jonas was battling it out with Benji Dial for the starting qb spot. Charlie Bryant was fighting with Mack Herron for a backfield position. There were a lot of new players on the roster so competition was keen everywhere. I stuck around & almost regretted it. I could see some dark clouds on the horizon coming my way. I decided it was time to split before scrimmage ended & rode like a crazy man all the way home while this huge thunderstorm chased me. I remember I was freaking out all the way home. By the time I did get about a km away from my house all hell broke loose. The rain came down like out of a shower head, hail, thunder, lightning & wind. I jumped off my bike & hit the ground running in full stride in the backyard soaked to the skin. My Mom thought I took too much of a chance with the weather & I got a big lecture from her. I never forgot THAT practice.

Bolton is only a little less pathlogical than Trump and significantly smarter (who isn't?) and stands to make a lot of money fromt he sales of his book. Truly, there are no angels in this exchange and it certainly gives another peek into the machinations within the Trump death cult.

  7. God, I miss TC. I've only been a couple of times, but the best one, by far, was the year the Women's World Cup was on, so TC was moved over to the field next to IGF. @17to85 and I road-tripped it out from Calgary to spend a couple days at camp. A hell of a time. All the fans could come and sit right on the sidelines and watch. All the media folks were there...I remember Bob Irving playing with his granddaughter for a bit during it.....I remember Wade Miller coming out and announcing that they'd brought in hot dog carts and it was free food for everyone. Dave was wearing his Doug Brown jersey, and it was the year that Ivan Brown was trying to make the team, and was also going to be wearing 97, so he was yelling at Dave about the jersey....and I think he said something about how it was nice that he wouldn't even have to change the nameplate. Ha ha. Ray was there with his Feoli-Gudino jersey cheering on his boy. Man, that was a great time...

https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/here-are-7-stunning-details-from-a-new-report-about-john-boltons-explosive-book/ The book confirms House testimony that Mr. Bolton was wary all along of the president’s actions with regard to Ukraine and that Mr. Trump explicitly linked the security aid to investigations involving Mr. Biden and Hillary Clinton. On Aug. 20, Mr. Bolton writes, Mr. Trump “said he wasn’t in favor of sending them anything until all the Russia-investigation materials related to Clinton and Biden had been turned over.” Mr. Bolton writes that he, Mr. Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper tried eight to 10 times to get Mr. Trump to release the aid. 2. Bolton says that similar incidents occurred with Turkey and China. “The pattern looked like obstruction of justice as a way of life, which we couldn’t accept,” Bolton wrote. He blames the Democrats for impeaching Trump on grounds that were far too narrow and solely focused on Ukraine, but this complaint is deeply ironic given Bolton’s refusal to testify. 3. Trump tried to get China to help him win re-election, the book claims. Bolton wrote that “the president overtly linked policy to his own political fortunes as he asked [Chinese President] Xi to buy a lot of American agricultural products to help him win farm states in this year’s election. Mr. Trump, he writes, was ‘pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win. He stressed the importance of farmers, and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome.'” 4. Trump reportedly did not know Britain is a nuclear power. This is a basic fact about world politics, and yet the president seems to have no clue what’s going on. 5. Trump reportedly asked if Finland is a part of Russia. The report doesn’t say who Trump asked. Hopefully, it wasn’t the Finns. Or the Russians. 6. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reportedly dismissed Trump’s overtures to North Korea as useless. During Mr. Trump’s 2018 meeting with North Korea’s leader, according to the book, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo slipped Mr. Bolton a note disparaging the president, saying, “He is so full of ****.” A month later, Mr. Bolton writes, Mr. Pompeo dismissed the president’s North Korea diplomacy, declaring that there was “zero probability of success.” 7. Bolton says he reported cases of Trump’s potential abuses of power to Attorney General Bill Barr. It’s not clear if anything ever came of these reports.

This reminds me of the lead up to last season where 'the league hadn't even talked to the players about a CBA' etc etc and then suddenly the deal was done The league doesn't run everything by the players because they know the players have no bargaining power - its just reality.

Gotta say I love the AEW tag team division. I especially love that Guevara and Jericho are pairing as "Le Sex Gods." I just admire the audacity -- a guy who looks like the singer from a Night Ranger cover band standing next to a 21 year old who is cut like a diamond and moves like a king cobra, and the Night Ranger guy says "Yup, that's us, we are le sex gods. Both of us." And don't get me wrong, no hate here, I think Jericho is fantastic. dude is such a great heel. he's got his head just far enough up his ass to be super entertaining but not so far that I hate him. real nice calibration there. AEW Dark was pretty meh this week. Hate seeing jobbers brought in just to get demolished by big names. You look at the dark Omega vs. jobber match from a few weeks ago, Kenny showcased his opponent and they put on an entertaining show. Lance Archer vs. Ali, not so much ... though I liked seeing him beat up a random staffer before the match, that's some good heeling.

That's fine, if you want to make excuses, but the USA could be better, they are choosing not to be. Squandered every advantage they had. Their **** policing is part of their overall poor policy choices. Population, poverty, area, these are all just excuses. America chose this path throughout the years.

  42. Lawler Setting Sights High For Sophomore Campaign With BombersLawler said that Darvin Adams and Drew Wolitarsky both helped him out immensely when it came to learning the waggle and other nuances of the Canadian game along with the playbook....“It was just infectious. There was something in the air and it felt like if you were a Winnipeg Blue Bomber, we knew that we were going to win and we knew what was going to work from that preparation.”...Not many people are able to achieve that in their football career. I feel very grateful to be able to call myself a Grey Cup champion. Now, I hold myself to a standard and I know what it takes to be there. I’m going to hold it very highly. I’m a father, I’m a husband, I’m a Grey Cup champion.”https://www.cfl.ca/2020/06/13/lawler-setting-sights-high-sophomore-campaign-bombers/

  43. My favorite part of both of their games is the selflessness of providing blocks to receivers or whomever as necessary. Hard to come by gritty receivers that do that. Adams does it away from the ball well as well.

You guys and Jonesys are going to be the death of me! So had had to make a trip out that way for work today. Thought I'd stop in and grab something to go. Had a burger, and it was one of the best I've ever had. I'm into burger that pays attention to the patty used, not just piling on a variety of toppings and calling it a day. I think I might have to make another excuse for the almost 40 km trip one way.
