Agree with all that you said, except this last line. Leadership needs to get back in the mindset that they need to be juggernauts. Competitive isn't the bar they need to be reaching for. "Good enough" is not good enough. There needs to be hunger and desire to get back to the best in the league. To take over games and dominate. There was a time not that long ago when the defence would just shut teams down completely in the 4th quarter. The offence had the confidence to roll and kill the clock. All that is gone. It doesn't seem like they have that hunger anymore. From GM to coach to players.

One of the things I hate most is watching Faj float a ball into our secondary and having it completed to a wide open receiver. Or a receiver that is somewhat covered, but our DB has zero awareness of where the damn ball is. It usually starts with me saying, oh pick that…. Followed by FFS!!! I hope not to experience this tonight.

Mack was a guy I desperately wanted the Bombers to target.

Fajardo has been playing better than Collaros and Mack is playing better than any of our receivers. We can dislike them but Edmonton is a good team.

RB who doesn't practice, no backup. 2 OL having injury issues that make them miss practice. Only 1 backup, 8 LBs, though. What could possibly go wrong with this?

Elks are not so LOLks as they once were... But I still believe they're overrated. They go as Justin Rankin goes. I do believe they're beatable. Having said that, I don't think the Bombers are necessarily a very good team. We've sadly shown that too many times so far this season. But, as always, I live on a hope and a prayer... For two points our way, no matter how it looks. Just find a way to win.

I predict before MOS reign is over, we will see an all LB defense.

Edmonton is really good and they take the ball away regularly.... They've got the most INTs in the league which is not great for Zach. I think the Bomber defence can handle the Elks offence for awhile but not if our offence gives the ball away multiple times and our defence is on the field for 40 minutes. If Collaros has a good game the Bombers probably win. But that's a big If.

Complacency is death in sports. If you're not getting better you're getting worse.

I want a team that gives it their all on the field every single game, that plays hard and fast and one where we don't have to go and ask whether or not we're truly dressing the best possible team we can or if it's just an old boys club where everyone is just too complacent.

I think from a team perspective that is what they should be gunning for. From a fan perspective....or from my perspective, I want a competitive team that is fun to watch and looks like they're doing everything they can to get to that point. I know that a run of +.500 seasons won't last forever, I know that going to the Grey Cup every year isn't achievable. That's what I want the clubs goal to be. But I know it's not realistic. I just want to watch fun/competitive football.

How is that relevant to the question of whether or not we've been successful? It isn't. At the end of the day, you can only measure success by looking back. Do I think Walters and O'Shea should have been extended for three years? That's a completely different question and my answer would be no (but neither O'Shea nor Walters would have signed short term deals either). I made it very clear that I'm not happy with the makeup or direction of the team but I won't downplay what we've accomplished over a the last decade either. Despite the trend of these last couple of years, and because of what they've accomplished, they earned their contracts. Things I'm not happy about: Before Biggie really started showing his age I was arguing that, as an organization, we needed to do a better job of finding "the next one". I said that we needed to identify players who could push guys, learn and carry on the culture of accountability that had taken root here - we haven't done that. I also believe we've done a terrible job of drafting these last number of years and have (historically) done a shitty job of pushing / moving on from incumbents (and that's only gotten worse). We've built a roster that is inflexible and are hamstrung by how and where we've chosen to allocate money. There was a time we looked to use every rule and every situation to our advantage, now we are overly conservative. We play not to lose. This is a team and organization (not the business side of things but football operations for sure) that's complacent. One of the things that allowed us to turn this organization around was the fact that each of Miller, Walters and O'Shea allowed the other to do what they were hired to do and didn't assert themselves over another when it wasn't warranted (at least that was the perception from the outside looking in). We've all seen what happens when you have too many cooks in the kitchen - it's simply a breeding ground for dysfunction. With that said, real conversations need to be had with everyone about what success looks like moving forward and, if we don't achieve those goals, there needs to be some accountability. That might hurt in the short term but we should be better for it long term. The Blue Bombers don't need to be a juggernaut but we do need to be competitive, exciting and fun to watch.

We struggled to put Ottawa away last week and benefited from a weird interception, a freaky injury and the goalposts taking potential points off the board. We shouldn't be talking **** about other teams.

I don’t expect a blow out, we usually manage to keep things pretty close for the vast majority of games. And if we can convert some TDs instead of FGs, get some help from our ST (time for a Vaval take over game) and a turn over or two (wishful thinking but it can happen), we could surprise. And if BC can beats Sask tomorrow, we got a stew going.

Hate to be a debbie downer... but when in Rome... I'm expecting a blow out win by the Elks.... followed by zero changes to the Bombers rosters... and another blow out win by the Als next week... I wish I could have optimism about our team right now... The plus of being negative... I'll be very happy to be wrong

Bombers should have beat them in week 4 if not for some monumental dumbass play calling late in the game. 5 minutes left in the game, you have the lead, 2nd and 6 from your 25 and you throw a low percentage bomb that goes incomplete. Game was over right there. Throw a freaking 5 yard pass thats completed 90% of the time and sneak for the 1st eating up the clock. Its not f'ing rocket science. Still so pissed off with that asinine play call.

I guess I’m mostly talking about their offence, which I think will/has regressed to the mean a bit. Their defence is lights out though. I can’t take anything away from that. The league leader in drops will always be one of the top receivers who sees the most targets.

The only thing stopping the Als this year is a injured Davis, they are the class of the league with half of the season to go.

X2 That goes with the coaching staff too...show some emotion and some actual ability to recognize issues...and fix...not sit back and bask in the past...and that goes for in game things...things leading up to games and all involved in the day to day stuff during the season...They seem to just be content sitting there status quo and that it will all hash itself out cause it did at one point before...under totally different circumstances, and that now work and urgency/accountability needs to be upfront and center and across the board....and thats not occurring If this staff can show and do that and reclaim real success...I am fine and onward we go...But the trend and history has been showing they aren't and I not sure they can...Prove me wrong Osh and earn that next yr of your deal...keep on keeping on as you are....then whatever negativity you get thrown at you...it's well deserved and warranted

What was wrong with Jim Spavital? He came in after the Joe Zaleski years when the team had no talent or leadership. Zaleski was a joke of a head coach. When he hired Spavital in 1970, GM Earl Lunsford gave him nothing to work with & the Bombers went 2-14. Then in 1971, Lunsford actually went to work & traded for QB Don Jonas, Center Bob Swift, Flanker Jim Thorpe & TE Paul Markle. Lunsford also drafted Receiver Bob Kraemer, Receiver, DB Peter Ribbins, FB Clay McEvoy & Kicker Walt McKee. Signed free agent Halfback Mack Herron, FB Ed Williams, DB Tom Oberg, Receiver Paul Williams, DT Jim Sullivan & Safety Grady Cavness. They made the playoffs at 7-8-1 in 1971. The first time since 1966. The Bombers shot up to 10-6 in 1972 & finished first hosting the Western Final. The Riders fluked out a win on a bad ref's call in the 1972 Western Final to beat us. Then, in the following off season, Lunsford got rid of Mack Herron & Jim Thorpe on minor possession charges for weed. Herron got a suspended sentence in May of 73 but Lunsford still released them. Thorpe just disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. Herron signed with the New England Patriots & promptly set an NFL record for combined yardage by a player (rushing, receiving, punt & kickoff returns). The CFL leading rusher & receiver in 1972... both gone just like that with the stroke of a pen by Lunsford. Their best OL in Guard Bob Lueck retired & All Star MLB Mickey Doyle broke his leg in the 72 Western final. He wasn't ready to play & the 73 season was a wash for him. He ended up with the Stamps after being released & never returned to form after the injury. The Bombers dropped to last place at 4-12 & Lunsford fired Spavital. Lunsford tore the team apart but it wasn't his fault. He took no responsibility for that. He never adequately replaced the players he cut or retired. He blamed coaching or lack thereof for the Bombers finishing last that season. Lunsford overall was a prick as a GM. Renowned for not treating his players very well. Which was typical back then by GM/s all across the league. I always thought Spavital got the short end of the stick from Lunsford who took no accountability for the pratfall in 1973. We then went 3 seasons (1973-75) before we made the playoffs again in 1976. Spavital was alright.

AC just may be the next Head Coach in the CFL. Just stay away from Ottawa. If he goes somewhere then go somewhere where he has a chance to be a success. Jesus Christ would have a hard time performing miracles with that team. Dinwiddie refusing to play Bethel-Thompson is mind boggling. Maier's two picks last night were absolute killers. Yeah they as a whole have come down a bit...but I'd take theirs over ours currently....Defence tho...aggressive attacking style...kinda like we used to be when we won the cup And yeah those drops are contextual and can be based on sheer volume...I'd love him in our lineup tho..was a guy I hoped we woulda targeted a common theme of late last few yrs handcuffing yourself with 2 receivers who average 3 catches for 34 yards between them doesnt help when not addressed after week 9

Some say we are spoiled and expect too much..I say there's nothing wrong with that, because holding those values keeps you at or near the top..The fans in the Peg have waited a very long time to see success that this club has attained, and are certainly not happy with the way the team has dropped off even to the point where I heard collective booing in a recent game ....That should be a big red flag for management to take note of...I as a fan don't expect miracles but I do expect competency and that is something we've been short of lately

and??...whats your point....we been in decline recordwise...standing wise...and when we exit playoff wise since 2021...Just ignore that part?... I agree we have had some success....but we also have had a lot of failure record notwithstanding...I could care less how many wins we got during the season ...if only to lose when it matters...and most times self inflicted stupidity contributed to it..People all worked up and think I said we never were good...I said all time we were...when we were hungry...focused and not lazy...and had good players across board and used them accordingly....we are none of that now...and add to it questionable coaching....but yeah....we went to 5 grey cups...thats in the rear view so big whippity do....nothing lasts forever with a coach and staff...we at that expiry date sadly but we just cling to...the past....key word....past u still didnt show the math for 7...I wasnt including 2018...I was going from Grey Cup yr so guess I should have specified...as in my opinion 2018 wasn't a successful yr...I was tracking from the first success and onward.... But regardless we have been in 5 yrs of decline which is my point and this yr seems to have that trend intact....that's an issue I guess there are a couple people here who have a differing opinion on what success entails...and thats just fine...If we win another Cup under Osh I will never post again...I sure that would give a lot of you a nice lil chub you can rub
