  1. That’s FOOTBALL 🏈 weather! 👍🏻

  2. Pearson sat the first 3 games, then got in and looked good. Allen sat for what 8 games and then gets in a looks good. Woodby 10 games and then the same thing. That's three young guys who sat to start the year and when they got in contributed and played well enough to make you say, "Why was he sitting out?" That's on MOS. Letting talent walk, thats on KW. Its not one or the other, it is both.

yea we suck at RPO and ZC isnt an ideal guy for it anyway....not at this point in his career...maybe his hamilton days....lil bit in 2021...not now We also avoid seam and crossers and blitz beaters like its the plague....inadequate OC part of that too....his play book is like a seasoned OC trying to hide his scheme in pre-season well with our lack of usefull Cdn depth after our starters...and Ball likely out too....I can see Bailey finally getting on....Which is a plus.....an yeah too bad for Schmeck as he finally seemed to find his game as a nice depth piece....he actually is one of our quickest guys off snap believe it or not and finally figured out how to attack and puncture gaps...Him spelling off lawson would have been Ideal and all we needed as cdn DT's With Schoen's issues....Hopefully we bring on Echols for him, and Pokey for Logan, as Echols is a good returner and can spell off Vaval... And how Woodbey showed last game, and his versatility and used how they I guess figured Ayers could of been...but wasnt....Possibly dropping Ayers for Adams or woods... Even tho Mitchell showed signs of life I wouldnt be oppose to dropping him and we roster both Woods and Adams and run with a Demski/Clercius/Pokey/Wheatfall/Echols unit

  5. Worth noting as well we haven't won the big game since he's taken over as starting C.

  6. same with game J Jones was in and got a ton of work on defence...was one our best defensive games...Coincided as well with the Griffin bumping Kramdi out off SAM....J.Jones presence made T.Jones game improve too....and he has been more lost in space and over pursuing things again since J.Jones was taken out, and our defence hasnt been as good since....coincidence....?? Osh is not good at talent evaluation and use of talent to full effectiveness....pretty apparent

  7. Forgive me if I’m not doing cartwheels because Kramdi and Hallet are back practicing. The quote from Hodge about anyone hoping for changes along the O line shouldn’t hold their breath…. He could really just say, ‘Anyone hoping for changes PERIOD, shouldn’t hold their breath. I think most of us gave up hoping a long time ago.

No reason whatsoever that Pokey isnt in lineup...none Typical move...cut a guy who is obviously no good...just to bring him back again instead of using someone else you kept...or actually bringing in someone new and better...so typical of this regime One of or both of Woods or Adams should refuse PR spot...they'd be playing next week elsewhere...and funny part bumping off someone off a better roster Probably...trade up to get a particular guy...rave about him and park him on PR all yr to play an inferior global who does zip for your roster Oyelola tho is a good add Hallett...Kramdi...2 guys really who shouldn't be rushed back for any reason Schoen wont be playing fir a while...if at all....well ....shouldn't be

  9. while I like Kyrie Wilson as a player, when healthy... this is exactly the reason why I did not like his resigning.... why couldn't Ayers and J Jones rotate through the defense instead?... and now we might have a good one in Woodbey... why are we wasting reps on a 32 year old LB when he have younger, cheaper, and likely better options...

  10. Khari was soo damn good at getting the ball out quick on a rope, letting milt run under it. And yeah they played like they had a headset and mic to each other. Such a thing of beauty to watch.

Yep. For ages, other teams busted us on looks like that. Going back to ricky ray in edmonton. Vaughn used to cut us up any time we blitzed. It's funny, we are soo conservative with route concepts, trying to keep passes in safe, easy places that zach just takes shots on his own into worse postions any way. Imagine Demski on a slant at the seam behind the second level when a team blitzes us. He's hard to tackle for box players with a head of steam. Good luck to the halfs and S.

  13. The worst starting centre I've seen at a d1 level or higher for probably 20 years. Then add in this year he has the yips on a good 5+ snaps agame.

  14. yep i was just mentioning that in the other thread. teams cue off our izr/tire scheme very quickly. occasionally we will throw out a heavy set and run some power scheme, or maybe 5 times a year throw some thing like a counter/ counter trap, or maybe a sweep. Inside zone, outside zone, and wide zone all work off each other and take advantage of defensive adjustments soo well. they crash inside you run wide zone to use the Ds aggressiveness to take inside leverage against them grab out side position and bust big gains. when they start chasing to the sidelines you run outside zone and let them get side line pursuit angles then cut back to a wall of blockers. You can also use the jet motion for split zone, and run mid zone to exploit the D and break wide or tite zones with more multiple aiming points from the back in stretch or drive aiming and open cut back lanes. We have the back to add complexity to the run scheme and the ol coach. if we put vanterpool back in we have a much better ol to take advantage of.

we aren’t running that much rpo. suitor thinks every pa play is rpo, it isn’t. It’s pretty easy to identify when we do run rpo, because we aren’t very good at it. watch zachs head/shoulders. if he’s looking at brady, he isn’t reading any one on the D. when we run rpo, you can see him stare down the key play on D. usually you would read the edge and bootleg based on his angle or pursuit. For us, we’ve read sam/wil on medium short passes that are quick, and run what I call fake rpo. which is when you go to the huddle with a call change based on pre set alignment. Buck did a lot of this prior to last year to try and speed up getting the ball out. if the slot coverage (half, sam, wil) is too far off, zach throws a snag, hitch, screen etc. it’s a no signal check run from the snap. We used to try and do pin and pull rpos like that especially with strevy going back to lapo.

  18. I knew Korny would be back the second Schmeck went down. Insane. At least one of Woods or Adams will sit so we can trot out an inferior D line interior… For no good reason.

  19. Other teams have bottomed out and haven't done a mass overhaul like what was done in Calgary (when is the last time another team went with 12 new starters on D?) so yeah it was a choice on their end to a certain extent. Forced to make changes - yes. Forced to completely revamp their team - no, they chose to go that extreme and (so far) it's working for them. It flies in the face of MOS & Walters saying you can only make so many changes at one time. I honestly have not seen anything from MOS that gives me confidence that he'll make necessary changes unless he's forced to.

  20. I'm a bit split on that. On one hand, the gm is ultimately the one responsible for on field product. If he defers to the HC (and I think walters does to mos), and it doens't work out, the gm is as much to blame as the hc. I think rookie talent has been where it needs to be in this and the last camp. Not as much the prior year. Even when I look at the current roster, Vaval has been drastically better as a kr than Logan ever has. Logan has been a bust on offence (doesn't look right at all currently.) and peterson has been better for certain. Adams and Woods are our 2 best DTs by a lot, but are on the PR. We'd be better off with houston or woodey playing the db reps vaval has gotten, and probably lawson jr too. person has been our best Dl and played the fewest snaps. We've got young, athletic defenders who make an impact when given a chance in Jjones, shay, smith, and ayers, but we won't let them grow into and over take vets. We've wasted soo many final roster spots on guys like korny, Weitz etc but refuse to give bailey a look. \ We keep guys like case kicking around for no reason as well. Thats all on mos, and thats before you get into the can of worms that is thomas/kola. I think the easiest way to fix the problem with the mafia, is to shake up the top end. I think it's easier to find a GM, than a HC, and a gm who would actually be MOS' boss holding him responsible could get him back on the right track possibly. I also don't think we are approaching a point where the only way forward is firing a mafia guy, I think it's long past.

  24. The amount of times I think to myself....Get on a body!! with him is crazy. Just block someone...anyone. I get that you'll be left on an island occasionally. But there's no way it happens as often as it appears to. Like he just doesn't hit anyone way too often. I don't know a lot about OL play at that level. But I do know they should be engaged every play. It's a saying for a reason. TSN particularly loves to crown champions in July. Way more often it's the teams that get hot in OCT that end up lifting the cup. Our 2021 year was the exception not the rule. It's not often teams will dominate start to finish throughout an entire season. I get what you're saying though. Losing any game hurts eventually. You're digging yourself a hole. But adversity builds character yadda yadda yadda....all that stuff

  25. Sure. But in the fall/winter, the running game becomes more important and the football is more physical. All I'm saying is, I'd like to see them play the best players in the trenches. And yeah, do that in summer too.

  26. His post snap awareness if not engaged right out of snap with a Nose or DT is shockingly bad...actually non-existence I have never seen a center past H.S level be so lost, and coupled with that lack any real exceptional physical traits/techniques Yet there he is...game in and game out...how/why we habnt done anything the last 2 yrs at minimum to upgrade there, or try pretty much anyone on our roster is baffling But then again not surprising seeing how our coach leans on and thinks vets who been around this team a while, and ones he apparently has a bias/like for is the way to go until they either walk away, or get hurt so bad they cant play...cause we have also seen he will play a knicked up favorite and even an almost physically unable to do the job favorite over a new guy...hence the situ we have slowly degraded into

  28. in the past OShea has let the players figure it out and when questioned about adjustments needed would simply say the player will figure it out, maybe its time to coach

  38. What true talent has he let go that you are aware of? And don't bring me ham and eggers like Fox or Garbutt. They are low end rotational guys at best and keeping Woods and Adams over them is actually probably a proper talent evaluation. You say he is releasing all this talent. I say that's your opinion based on nothing really. Prove me wrong. Give me the list of all stars that MOS released. I'll wait. Look, I'm not going to sit here and defend MOS roster use. It's problematic. However, anyone trying to suggest that our lack of talent and failure to retain talent is on MOS is letting Walters off the hook way too easy. There is literally no one we have released that has done anything of note elsewhere. We have lost a ton of impact guys in FA, that is 100% on the GM. Kenny Lawler could easily have been signed and we would still be under the cap. I won't count Dobson because I believe he is grossly over rated, but he was still a loss because he wasn't adequately replaced. Again that's on the GM. Yoshi gone and replaced with a player not remotely as good. That's on the GM. The list goes on and on of guys we could have kept but our GM felt like lowballing them. At the end of the day he let Lawler walk and signed scrap heap to replace him, he let Dobson and Ford walk...that's two all star NATs out of 7 starters. These are things the GM just can't let happen. And don't give me this MOS might have said we good baloney. That's complete garbage. MOS like any other HC in the history of football has never advised his GM to let proven talent walk out the door. When guys like that leave it's for the benjamins and we've heard how many stories of our proven talent not even getting a phone call from Walters until it's too late. Janarion Grant waited all offseason for a phone call that never came before going to Toronto and he was asking for peanuts.

  40. it’s talent kyrie almost 2/3 of the season to get to a good game. he might be great the rest of the year if he stays healthy. but we could have the same level of play by now from one of the young guys with a future. It’s just wild. ugh kornelson back is bad news bears. bet one of woods/adams gets walking papers soon. I like oyelola, super athletic with plenty of raw talent. much better than weitz. but watch us cut bailey instead.

  43. He's a favourite of O'Shea which is nuts IMO. It doesn't seem that he'd be the next man up at any of the 3 starting LB positions if we have an injury. I liked what I saw from Woodbey in his 1st game. J.Jones seems to have fallen off the radar though. If Kramdi or Makonzo are able to play this week, that gives our starter or depth back at SAM. Woodbey played due to that need with Griffin moving to SAM. I'd keep Woodbey on the AR for at least another week, but that would be at the cost of Ayers. I see we've re-signed Kornelson which suggests we're sticking with an all Canadian DT interior. Also signed global LB Oyelola after a few years in the NFL. Not sure why we did that unless we're getting rid of Weitz.
