  1. White Game. Go Blue. Expectations be damned. On game day, hope springs eternal.

  2. I think we’re going to squeak out an ugly win. We’re usually a much better team at home. I’m not sure I have much confidence in this team right now but this is a winnable game, the place will be rocking regardless.

  3. It’s crazy to think, but I’d honestly say the only untouchables on our team right now are Brady Oliveira, Connor Shay, Gabe Wallace and the rights to Elgersma. Everything else could be on the table. Not saying blow it up, I’m just saying that if we were to declare full rebuild and decided to move on from the whole team, those four pieces would be the only ones I’d be upset about. Brady- enough said Shay- you drafted the most pro-ready guy in the draft and haven’t given him a chance, gotta see if he’s the next Singleton/Judge Wallace- pretty much the only Canadian OL we have who doesn’t get a seniors discount at Salisbury House Elgersma- I think this is obvious

  4. Sorry to sound like Mr. Negative...and usually I do try and be positive...but from what I have seen from our offence this year, I have virtually no faith in them showing up or making a play when needed. I do think the defence has improved and is evolving even with some key injuries, I do believe they can compete with the other teams and keep us in games now. Our specials are doing great.....but.....I just can't see us winning many games with this offence...sorry

  6. Last week was a 1 point loss, to IMO the best team in the west.

  7. A dl of Woods, Adams, Lawson (when healthy, and Thomas (because hes AR till he retires sadly), wj, Vaughters, and Person would be deadly. Throw in bailey inplace of a back-of-the-roster canadian and you have a scary, scary front. Blitzing is hard to make work consistently in the CFL. Because of that, you are best off imo, if you run with the best mix of disruptive DL talent you can find.

  8. Yeah, if Woods is physically ready to play, it’s ridiculous to not get him in the lineup. Especially with our depleted secondary, that hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders, we need to create havoc in the pocket.

  9. Redblacks dline hasnt been great, we should be able to run, and provide better protection for Zac which will make all the difference. Brown isnt as mobile as some weve faced so hopefully our dline can dial it up. Go Blue!

  10. I'd add Demski to that list. Gives his all. Still producing even when the entire team isn't. He's earned it.

  15. 1. Not against leather in principle. 2. Every opportunity to treat animals better should be taken. 3. This message would be better coming from someone other than PETA, who these days have basically the opposite intended effect on my view on something when they are the ones that brings it to my attention. I suspect I am not alone there.

  16. FROM what I know...He is ready, and game reps would be only thing to progress him now...But we figure dressing Ayers...a LB and having him out of position on dline, and then giving no reps is the way to go...like really?? Much like in 2023...Parker was ready to play well over a month before he actually got on roster...and was quite frustrated about it....

  17. I know it's way too easy to say this in hindsight... and credit to some here that called it... after the 2023 season was the chance to do a significant re-tool... move on from Zach and roll with Dru... move on from Biggie after his injury in the WF and subsequent reinjury in the GC... start auditioning guys everywhere that wasn't solidified... might've meant some growing pains in 2024... but we had that anyways.... good coaching/management should've had the foresight to start preparing for the 2025 GC a season early

  18. yeah....banking on Schoen being a legit number one this yr was a bad bad decision...really when you look at it...stupid as he wasn't even a yr removed from injury alone until what...week 4? So for our plan to replace Lawler and essentially Schoen's production we sign a guy (White Jr) who had an even worse injury than Schoen, re-upped Schoen ( we should have just 6 gamed him 1 or 2 times to ensure he was a bit more re-habbed) picked up Sterns who couldn't crack Sask roster (and last yr we had a better unit than them) and at best is a nice 3rd or 4th import option, and threw a big chunk at Mitchell and then promptly sat him as we made an excuse or 3 about him...or just didn't know how to use and implement him (take your pick) We brought in a nice group of new guys, then promptly cut them all and kept a guy Case who couldn't stay on roster here last yr, and when did get back on showed exactly why he couldn't claim a spot again...so really have to question the smarts and capabilty of our coaching and management at this point...cause man thats just brutal

  19. With all the injuries it looks like it will be a track meet with few defensive stops. Ottawa's strength is their offence, so gotta give them the advantage.

  20. As always on us this season....target the corners. I hope they get Vaval off the D pretty quick and it's just some depth chart glitch. Give Allen a shot and see what he can do.

  21. Brown going off for 400+...4 td's....no pics....looking silky smooth will be a right kick to the plums...especially in front of a full house

  25. I predict: The Bombers will play their most complete 3 quarters of the year, Collaros will be consistent but not remarkable. The game will be out of reach at the start of the 4th and the Bombers will let their foot off the gas. They will still win convincingly but Brown will put up super gaudy numbers which will fuel the Brown vs Collaros debate for weeks to come.

  27. oh great...Osh will be sporting a chub all game and not be focused on making good calls haha Ott totally shut down Mills and CGY's run game a few weeks back....and they have a better Oline than we do....They shut BO down and force us to beat em by passing...or creativity?....we screwed

  28. makes sense as many of us have said we make/made zero adjustments and got out coached/schemed

  29. Was listening to @DTonOB this morning on the morning show and he had a very telling stat that really shows our ineptitude at offense. Since the B.C. game where we scored 10 points, we've scored a grand total of 9 points in the third quarter. As he said, that shows other teams are adjusting and we are...... not. I think people would maybe give him some more rope if there was glimpses of brilliance, but instead it seems like there is 0. Throw in that ridiculous statement to the media about Strevler and he's just not going to get any goodwill. Would be nice to hear some accountability or some encouragement that things are changing but all we get is the "we see the mistakes and will fix them".

  30. when we had success in the past...we had 6 legit guys who could take reps and actually make plays...Right now with Lawson on the shelf we have 4 (WJ...Vaughters...Person and Adams) Thats why we get minimal pressure tho going away from that lame contain let em beat the secondary scheme has helped...our secondary now is in shambles...so smart minds you would think would beef up the dline if they could....guess we aint smart yup....dare to dream tho eh?

  31. "Imagine the cows terror" that's a rich statement from a group that has and continues to steal peoples domesticated pets because "it's more humane for them to die, than live as a pet". Peta can get ******.

  32. yeah to have any success this yr it's gonna have to be riding the defense and ST's Defense still needs a few tweeks...like to see a few different guys already rostered get more use on it...hopefully adding a Woods...Bailey(to see if he has benefit) and relegating a couple guys to injury replacement only

  33. Like most everyone else, I’m not going into this game with a tonne of optimism. I’m just hoping for a performance that doesn’t make me want to punch my tv.

  34. I have zero faith until proven otherwise in our coaching...and that's not just from losing 4 of our last 5 games...this has been since 2023 or so.....which coincides quite nicely with our talent and depth starting to age out...erode...or walk away. If not possessing a stacked roster...I not sure if we really have the coachability to pull things out of the fire, utilize, let alone recognize actual talent or make changes on the fly.... like i have said several yrs....coaching has been killing us...and we have scratched out a lot of wins in spite of the coaching....except when it really mattered (3 grey cups) or some glimpses of an actual Pro offensive play book....and play calling

  35. not to mention that game should've been a walk for the Bombers after going up 17-0...

  36. yeah....zero depth with any experience then Even tho neither were gonna be all world game breakers but Mayala and Hakunavanhu would both have given us if anything some non-import depth.... and both have been starters and had success at times....but we just stood pat The fact we don't even seem to be trying to get better or try guys out is troubling...is it that our brain trust just thinks what we have is good and legit?...or is it guys are saying thanks...but no thanks to us??

  38. I'm more curious/concerned about our prepedness nd if we actually have done something...anything different to try and show we can adapt and actually game plan accordingly I have my doubts....and I fully expect us to look good with a drive or 2 outta the gate....seem dialed in on defence...and then just watch it slowly escape us as we have no ability or thought of adjusting anything....and doing some legit in-game coaching to secure the win....hope I wrong but.....................

  39. I agree with TB's thoughts - IMHO Ottawa has a large advantage over us if you look at their receivers vs. our D Backs! - It may be a long day for our defense as I doubt we will get much pressure on Dru. And they will probably get lots of pressure or Zac!

  40. Study on NFL players says coming off ACL players don't return to same rate of both participation and production until year 3 post-injury on average....that is the guys that last long enough to get to year 3.

  41. My expectations for a decent performance by the blue is very low. The bar is so low I don't think an inch worm could slide underneath it. I just hope Ottawa doesn't embarrass us too much!

  42. Schoen may never get to the same level he used to be at. That is a nasty, nasty knee injury. I know as I suffered thru the same injury. Dumb decision to let Lawler go. There were guys out there who could have helped us. But we signed no one. Well, we did sign Mitchell but he's been on the outs with his OC & Osh all season so they parked him & his $300,000 contract on the practice roster until last game where he really didn't do a lot with just 30 yards receiving. Some of the off season decisions have been so bad that Walters & Osh need to answer for their stupidity. I see no accountability whatsoever.

  44. There's 7 starters and 11 players on this team remaining from the 21 Grey Cup team. They've sprinkled in a ton of guys. Problem is they've mostly been average or worse players, especially the Americans.

  45. I don’t think it’s fair to "write off and move on” from *any* of our quarterbacks given the state of our offensive line. Receivers. Coaching and co-ordinating are all holding this group back. That said, Zach at 600K is absurd. His play, over multiple seasons, doesn’t warrant it. Strev hasn’t played well but if you set aside your bias and ask yourself: does a system that asks a QB (who has just come off a serious knee injury) to block for his running back put that player in the best position to be successful? No QB has a chance. Nobody on our offensive line is untouchable. Stan stays (if he wants to) to play, provide mentorship and a veteran voice. There are guys who have potential (Wallace) but need to be pushed and replaced (if necessary). WRs. Talent. Plain and simple. We need players who run well, can push veterans and can create space for themselves in the routes they run - that's what we need. NI. Import. Doesn’t matter. Corners specifically need an upgrade. Holm and Nichols are fine but also need serious challengers facing them. Safety is a work in progress and we *may* have a guy on our roster who can play back there but we actually need to give that guy reps and see him work.

  47. I'm choosing to believe that the only reason they don't have 6 Safeties on the depth chart is because it doesn't fit the formatting.
