  2. Only to pull a Durant and walk away without ever sullying a Bomber jersey. It's the only acceptable scenario.

  3. 19/21 was a long time ago. Especially in football years. The same people who are content with 5 cups and 3 straight losses were the same ones mad at getting no respect in 21 and forward because cf/this team that team were past it. We were Hamilton in 19/21 the last two years. Now we’re struggling to maintain that level. And the same people who won’t be happy when we are at best the 3rd best team going into next year in power rankings. 19/21 team is never coming back from this squad. The only way back to that level is building up. We can’t maintain the status quo and expect to do better or as good any more.

  4. I didn't even get past the first paragraph of that article. (your welcome for the clicks Hodge). I'm not sure MOS has ever signed a new deal when he still had 1 year left on his current contract. I honestly can't remember when it comes to Walters but I think it's been similar. So Hodge wrote an article about things being the way they've been for the past....6? at least 6....years in terms of GM/HC contract negotiations. **** I gotta start writing....

  7. Strev will be back...and 6 games won't even count on cap...he's a key signing as much as many seem to think otherwise...and a new OC will be a godsend to him I'd like to see him used as more than the 2nd/3rd string guy...utilize his cap hit on teams..in 2 QB offence...in backfield...punt team as Prukopp was used...be ideal for fake punts if he always out there Groom Wilson as the heir apparent...get 2nd string reps...let Strev run jumbo...stuff on teams and unique offensive schemes...the times buck put the 2 qbs out there it was pointless

  8. I have no idea where all this Streveler negativity came from, but it seems to have shown up outta the blue right around playoff time this year. No idea what's driving it... He's costing us next to nothing, cap-wise, and could still be our future starter in 2025. Why do people all of a sudden think he sucks and is too expensive? Because he blew out every ligament in his knee? Or because Buck and the staff chose to use him as a bulldozer only?

  12. 3 year extension for Alexander. Fajardo has a bonus due in January so he either accepts a demotion or he's gone in the next month or so. https://3downnation.com/2024/11/26/montreal-alouettes-sign-qb-davis-alexander-to-contract-extension-through-2027/

  13. He definitely is ahead of many first yr guys...Brown was tentative and skittish..looked like a scared rabbit If u didn't know better you would think Wilson had a few yrs playing...with reps and schemes built for him we may have something I also liked in pre season his ability to sprint out and throw on run too...

  14. Have they ever signed long term?

  15. I'd love to see a guy like Dru Brown not extend this offseason and then come back at the end for 2026. I can't imagine Ottawa leaves him hang this year, but a guy can dream...

  16. Management..coaching...players...eventually get stale and don't work...happens...reluctantance to change too is generally a death sentence People fall back to the argument yeah won 2 grey cups...5 trips...yeah so what...it's easily argued part of this regime was directly responsible for 3 flops too...goes both ways and in a what have u done for me business...they have failed in 3 straight seasons now...a 4th for falling back on old dumb habits and ideals should be the see ya later thanks for everything Bringing back and labeling Thomas...Biggie...Wilson...BA...at minimum as starters and key pieces is a sign that nobody above the coordinator's have learned a thing

  20. priority guys before Jan I would guess could be Lawler...WJ....Neuf...I suspecting Holm too....Schoen with being hurt...and Strev can be massaged in a bit differently as both I doubt will be good to go first week....well wouldnt be wise....so once some of the bigger parts get signed they will know what they have to work with and what amounts they can figure to be off the books....

  23. So, we won the West Final. Big deal. If that's your best memory then that tells me that our expectations are already being lowered. Winning a WDF means nothing if we let other teams find ways to beat us in the Grey Cup three years straight. We need a reboot. A reset as a team. I love the Bombers & have all my life but there's no way I trust Mike O'Shea to do the right thing for this team. To play his best combination of players with just seven starting Canadians. Now, we're being deserted like rats off of a sinking ship because the assistants & scouting staff can see what's going on. The window has closed with Mike as HC. What's the point of Goveia/McManus bringing in young players only to have them buried on the roster behind veterans ten to 15 years older than them who no longer can perform?? No wonder they want out.

  24. I agree, but we also need to concede that Nichols had a much better supporting cast Bryant in his prime, with Bond beside him at LG, later on Desjarlais - those guys were just outstanding If what I type matters...then there are serious problems. 😄

  25. People will hate this, but I think he’s a lot like Matt Nichols. Has played some of his best football late in the year, not great with the deep ball, very reliant on a couple basic concepts (timing routes at seams vs check downs and screens) etc. Nichols didn’t have the last play chokes, but the 19/21 Ds we had were some thing else. If Fajardo didn’t run into us, he probably has atleast 1 more ring and two more gc games. if reasonably priced every team in the league would take him as a back up. That’s what he is at his best imo. Really good back up and stop gap solution. Let him run the short yardage etc, develop a better passer like Wilson behind him.

  26. Last year we all talked at great length on how much Brady was worth. I think that’ll be the thing again this year. He’s really young and should get an nfl look. I think he might get a top of the market pay day if some one is desperate for the ratio breaker. But they will need a back up who can go in if he’s hurt at the same time. But only one db got more than 159k last year. Pickett got a maximum of 171k. for us, we gave kramdi almost 140k. Cam Lawson got max value of 141k. I think we chase to a maximum of 160k. Maybe a tiny bit more if he locks up for like 3 years. If hall leaves you probably see ott go after him. But we might see other cfl teams not want to give him elite db money, just based on questioning if he’s a systems guy here. Can he succeed if half his drop backs have him in man coverage? Or if he has to play a different role in a split field zone coverage? Can he succeed in that scheme without the guys he had around him? Some of those are yeses but not all. pretty much. They always play out the contracts now. It just makes the most sense. Changing coaching staff's partially is really hard to do especially if it’s the top half. I don’t think it means any thing, other than they figure out that cap every year as they have to. I had a feeling mos would want to go back to Toronto previous to dinwiddie turning them around. At this point, I can’t see him wanting to be any place else. I also don’t think walters n wade want to make any change in the brass. They want to keep what they have for better or worse.

  27. Guys, Kyle Walters is going for the Walter White look. That's the sign, he's going full Heisenbeg this off season. *I hope*

  28. That piece by Hodge is typically moronic, poorly written and even has spelling errors. Christ's sake. It's pure sensationalism.
    3 points
  29. Yea that's not what Walter's said, he just stated that his contract will run out just like his last one did. The media was squawking about the same thing last time.....they(Miller, Walter,MOS) trust each other, strange huh?

  30. Honestly, we need to add atleast one or two premium ol for zach. I think we could lose 1 wr but not two. And this group isnt likely to stay healthy.

  31. Do what? Take us to 5 straight championship games. Why ppl pretend we are the joke of the league when it’s the opposite is beyond me. I mean really. What exactly has O’Shea done besides be the winningest coach in our history. Besides winning 2 cups. Going to 5 prob 6 straight really. What a failure huh. Much better to be Calgary or Hamilton.

  40. Dru Brown type money. A base of $258k in 2025 (can go up to $336k). Max of $406k in 2026 and $456k in 2027.

  41. Strev got paid roughly the same as the 2nd stringers with experience. Likely won't be in line for a raise either since he didn't excel this year. No reason not to bring him back. https://3downnation.com/2024/05/07/the-cfls-15-highest-paid-quarterbacks-for-the-2024-season/

  43. 3 yrs I believe been the norm I'm also fine moving on from Ford if need be if he wants the moon.....He isnt vital to the ratio as we can easily start 7 guys plus the nationalized guy easily....and his 145...165k or slightly more would go much better served on a young Canadian Olineman if available in FA....or a guy like Ceresna or another difference making interior dlineman if they hit market Ford at entry level deal was a nice lil luxury....but moving forward prob not worth it.....especially if you need that spot for ratio your backup to him is gonna be a severe downgrade....big salary stuck there isn't the best bang for your buck especially when you can find unlimited import talent to play there in the U.S for half the price....we have no issues finding them.

  44. Pretty sure it was speculated at the end of the Grey Cup game that Benson was going to retire.

  45. Ford is looking for NFL looks and he may end up there for at least part of next year imo. Interesting article in the WFP about Walters presser, hints that 2025 might be Zach's last year. I'd love to see a guy like Powell in for a year to develop behind Zach. However wtf do I know, maybe Wilson is the guy.

  47. I feel like in general coaches contracts will come up then be renewed with the way the cap works now. To min max things. pretty wild we have 2 ast coaches up for a total of 3 jobs, and 2 front office types up for gm roles. We’ve had one here two there now and then. With half the time the guy declining or pulling out. Never before have we had 4 guys taking interviews at once. Makes me think, is this the exodus? We’ve struggled to retain and regain guys with out over pays. It’ll be really some thing to see how we do retaining guys, and luring in new guys on the field and off. We should be in the market for new cfl vet players coaches and front office types.
