Didn't think the play with Robertson was intent to injure.  It was an OL finishing a play.  It was a legal block, Robertson was in kind of an awkward position trying to move forward between the blocks and got his foot stuck under him.  I guess now there's sometimes a penalty called for being too far from the ball.

To be fair that interview was made immediately after the game, it will be interesting to see if his stance changes once he reviews the game film and hears from O'Day and indirectly from the team's board of directors.  This goes beyond football and they may go over his head to remove the tarnish from their organization.

Riders could have attempted to get ahead of this today with some discipline announced. Nothing but crickets...

The franchise is incapable of keeping thier players in line. You look at the last 3 years and the laundry list of idiot, me first, dirty players, it's no surprise they have done nothing. It's a pattern. It's bad for the league, it's bad for the image of the CFL. 

 

Moreover, look at what the mellonheads are saying on RF. The Rider brand stinks more everyday.

I would like the Riders to have tp pay Marino for the rest of the year and have that count against the cap. That would ensure that the team suffers for keeping the jackhole around when they knew who he was.

That's butter soft and not nearly enough, but if they do anything harsher, the PA fights it and maybe it ends up at 0 games. This way I'm betting they hope the PA 2ont fight it...

What a punk, there is a portion of rider fans who didn’t feel like he even deserved a suspension. Talk about a bunch of classless hill billies. 

Should be a lifetime ban. TSN should have the Marino cam when he comes back until the pos ends up out of the CFL for good.

Given the math this is really the minimum they could have given him. Especially considering if he had the two  "intent to injure" hits in separate games he'd be looking at even more.

Then you have the fact that he got a 1 game suspension for being a racist *******. That's enough to sit you down for the year. This is Canada not the deep south. ****

It feels like the league is looking to not get embarrassed by having another appeal go against them with this ruling. This feels like the maximum punishment they could dole out that is 99% sure to stick.

Edit: For my part I would have liked to see it be much longer.

The racist thing may be worse than the hit. There was enough evidence of him saying racist things that they could suspend him, must have been pretty bad. How do you keep a guy around after that? 

If a Bomber did this, I feel the mafia would cut him the next day. It is the Rider Clown Show so suspect they will rally to support him.

Once again the rider org will fail to meet any reasonable standard of accountability. 

 

 

This fanboard has been up in arms all season about the lack of discipline by those idiots. It took a serious possibly season ending injury for the league to take action. Obviously the the stink of the boorish behaviour permeates the entire team. Further transgressions by team members of the SK crew should be met with swift and firm discipline by the league.
