Going to try going with the two threads again for the off season.    One for Bomber news, one for CFL news.   These threads should be used for general / minor day to day news, tweets, etc.  A catch all for tidbits that people want to share to keep everyone up to date on the goings and comings of the league.

I can't see it, unless they get an exemption for a European player. 

 

This CFL 2.0 vision is so stupid. So rushed. Mexican draft, now a European draft? And why? None of these guys can play. 

How can we get fans to care when the league executives don’t even care? Sutherland called it out for what it was.

With the second pick in the CFL Euro draft the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are proud to select from Portugal and Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo.  

Maybe if they get that minimum salary up to $70,000 CAD they’ll come over!

Portugal and Juventus. 

Meh.  I believe the NFL has a roster exemption for development of a European player.  Often a rugby star that wants to try and make the transition.  No harm if it doesn't mess with the roster.

Interesting look at the Bomber’s history in drafting from, of course, the entertaining Ed Tait...

 

With Jabar Westerman being released by Montreal I wonder if Winnipeg will go after him?  He could really help the team solidify a Canadian position on the defensive line.   Between him, Thomas and a draft pick they could get that done.

Pretty sure Maxx Forde is already that guy....no need for the Lesser Busterman...

The Global players will benefit teams league not now but future years 2-3 years, When they can get guys out of college that’s when it pays off.

My fingers are crossed for betts but yeah I think we look long and hard at DL too. 

Jabar Westerman is not a bad idea.  I doubt they have the money to do it though.  I expect a number of teams will be cutting guys like this in order to make room for the free agent salaries they committed to the last couple of months.  Sucks for the players though, because teams are trying to fit under the cap.  Big difference from February to April/May.
