Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

 I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.  

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up. 

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence). 

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

 

 

Not surprised to see Donteea Dye signed.  I had watched the most recent season of NFL Film's Hardknocks on HBO and he was heavily featured. He was better than the rookie receiver they had kept instead of him but the other guy was cheaper and had a higher potential ceiling. He was pretty surprised he got cut but that's just what happens in the NFL after a couple years in the league. He's a polished receiver.

I wonder what his injury was, and how he is physically now. Because he looks like a guy who should be in the nfl on paper. Pass rush situations, end in a 3-4 etc. 

Last year Poop was an incredible force up the middle for us. One of the most disruptive up the gut guys ive seen in a long time up here. Tons of pressures. Brandin bryant shows all that, plus the speed to make plays from behind including tackling everything between the numbers. I hope this guy is good to go sky is the limit.

Need Simonise long term because it's going to take awhile to wash off the stink that Durant left behind

How much cap space is now freed up with Darian Douchebag bailing? I know the 70k counts, but what was his total contract for? This must free up a good chunk.

I agree these re treads arent the move we should go to now. Thats a worst case scenario to resort to the retread air lift. But its an option. Though maybe a guy like that, comes in hungry to push the young guys. But I think the two young guys we have behind nichols have every thing you could want save for cfl experience. I suspect the route we will go is continually cycling in new rook qbs, maybe some other teams TC cuts to keep these two chomping at the bit. 

Oh bryan bennett is still kicking about as well.

I hope the Bombers don't panic and sign some CFL QB re-tread. (Although I don't think there's any out there at this point).

Not any one youd really want. bennett would have the familiarity, but I think both our back ups have more talent and potential. 

Should be a few choices out there that would do better than any of our current projected backups who have zero experience in the CFL.  Potential won't mean much in 2018 for these individuals.  You play the long game with them.  An experienced backup with some starts and relief appearances in the CFL will almost surely perform better short term then a rookie with zero experience.
