https://3downnation.com/2026/10/08/zach-collaros-wants-to-continue-cfl-career-in-2027/ Some one has to save zach from him self, and the mafia from them self. We are on the verge of missing the play offs and i get this sick feeling we might once again run it back with the group that hasn’t gotten it down for years

So if elsbury is being demoted my question is... Why now? Why not weeks ago when it was obvious he wasn't getting the job done?

Yeah the waste of a DA for a backup oline is just insane...especially when he isnt even your best one....Just dumb....and from what I seen I have major doubts he could handle a tweener LB off the edge physically....definately not agility wise And if we see Kelly all day ahead of Griffin in that role someone needs to be shot and thrown in a dumpster....

Oh just waiting for that actually hahah....But a real chance is a run of 2..3 games to settle in and allow his mates to get used to him...or realize they dont have to compensate I Yeah he was nursing something all yr I pretty certain...But also when has that stopped Osh from playing his fav's when they shouldnt have even dressed?...several Grey Cups come to mind....And a particularly bone headed decision to continue with a QB with his finger duct tapped on who he himself said on sidelines couldn't throw the ball let alone grip it....

Thing is, we have had similar issues for 5 OCs in a row, plus 3 DCs. The difference is talent, but we've seen all the same issues. At some point, it's an upper brass failure, not the CO. Be it micromanaging the system, roster management, or hiring decisions. I don't have any faith that this group will do any better with OC no 6, and DC no 3.

Even when the Jets go thru a down period this year, that should not influence wavering from the 'not going to settle' approach in trading Helle. Knowing it's less than a minimal chance of happening but sweet jesus having our Jets win the cup this year cuz Helle didn't think we could would be chefs kiss.

So this game is going to tell us everything we need to know about this team. Absolutely do or die for playoff hopes so let's see if they have some fight left in them or if they are just going to roll over and quietly go into the offseason.

Reinbold had great post game talks. Nothing like hearing about how QB Raymond Philiew is a warrior 600 times when discussing a massive loss.

Seriously i get it not a good year by any standards but how did some of you guys get through the Reinbold years or Mike kelly or add how many horrible coaches or years we have had????? **** watching Reinbold coach, when we won any game it was like we won the Grey Cup. 🤣

Booch gets to see if Eli is an improvement....

This is just about as good a line-up as we can play with. Do or die time.

I just looked at ticket prices for the Grey Cup. SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS each to sit on the 15 yard line in Section C at McMahon Who are they kidding?? No wonder tickets aren't selling.

Heaven help us. You know that MOS will be pounding the table to bring him back.

AINEC

My current seat would cost over 50% more for new STM's. I wonder what it will look like existing season ticket holders after next season. Part of the 3 year commitments people made for GC 2025 had a 2.5% limit on ST price increases but that protection will be gone for 2028.

I just get the feeling MOS and company are past the point of no return, i.e., do not waver from their process and tell themselves they know what they are doing. Some call this committed, others call it stubbornness unwilling to change.

I hate to admit it but it's been a long while since I've been so disinterested in a Bomber season. The only thing worse than anger (as a fan) is apathy.

Not to many friends or family showed up

The message gets lost after awhile. Head Coaches do have a definite shelf life. Same with GM's.

U forgot 5 guys who coukdnt run in 1 grey cup You didnt forget lol And the fact everyone was a starter and gives us a chance to win..cause thats why they here...but never getting any play time during the season as we wore our vets down to bloody knubs..and then when needing to play we had no clue if they could...or faith in them..didnt help

strevelers broken ankle too. soo many examples it’s pretty sad tbh

I mean, out side of 1/2 years our cos haven’t been great. Hall had a great playoff stretch in 18/19 and year in 21, but that was also the peak of the fire hall movement. Jy had two very good stretches of games with in 24/25. Buck had a couple good extended stretches of games here in 21/22. Lapo had more bad games than good here by far. Really, they did stick their heads in the sand and try to do the same stuff. That’s why no one was sad to see lapo or buck go. Jy, Hall, and even Etch all ran variations on the same concept. Halls D this year is far closer to what etch ran than what any one else has done in the league since he left. The big difference with hall is he ran 4/5 pressure with one lber joining some times, using that guy to get 1on1s with higher tier front concepts to get pressure before deep balls could land. Jy, will add 1 db to that while showing and dropping more frequently with less front concepts, and etch used bizarre pre snap alignments to try and hide the rushers and coverage rotation. We went from lapo with rb screens/ jets offsetting izr with at the line screens, to buck using more btl screens and jet variations off izr, to hogan/tc struggling to execute any thing but leaning on the same screens and izr. Both sets of COs are like photocopiers that have run lower and lower on ink. I agree talent isn’t the primary limiting factor, but it is certainly a limiting factor. We simply don’t have the talent on ol, lber, a few db spots, and half the dl. Not to mention some of the worst wr talents in the league. In game coaching is the fastest way to improve this team, and that alone could make it a team fighting for a home play off spot. But the upper brass either can’t or won’t pick winners at the co spots.

Bailey’s torn hamstring and Biggee’s torn calf also say hi

Same reason we played zach with his finger hanging off in a gc, or big stan when after he collapsed, paddy when he was badly hurt a couple years ago, brady and harris at times they could barely walk little on run. If the player is willing to play, mos assumes they will perform at the same level as if they are 100%. this has happened more times then i can count. Schoen played through two season ending injuries plus a career ending one. No different then how mos refuses to accept that any player degrades in performance with age.

Without question, we need a shake-up at every level of this organization. At this point, as long as it includes TC, Idc who all go specifically.

I would say the only coaches who have had careers with one team, in any sport, and continued to excel either did change or they coached in an era with little to no innovation. The sad thing is the CFL hasn't even innovated in the mafia era. We've regressed; we don't do half of the things we used to, and do very little well of the holdover.

hence...time for change...as the landscapes in the league have changed and Smugs still thinks its 2020

On one hand I like having Griffin back in the wil pack position. If that replaces the dreaded kelly 2S pack, we will be in a great spot. That said, we've seen the starting secondary isn't good enough and we need some shaking up. On the DL, Ceresna should sit imo. He clearly wasn't 100% last week. He made 1 tackle and 0 noticeable plays. Same thing in the week before when he got nicked up vs. Toronto. I like seeing 8 dl on the roster than we can run out there for some package or another. But man we need to go get a couple DTs, maybe some fresh DE blood too. Fletcher barely plays and is completely ineffective when he plays inside. Makes no sense to me to start Eli and have Elsbury back up. Maybe he could be good in the heavy set on the edge with his speed and being certain he will play someone much smaller on the snap. But that is a pretty limited-value use out of a DI. Why the hell wouldn't we just throw on Vanterpool in that case? Or Vibert and use the DI elsewhere?

Better late than never…. I guess? Probably too late, but whatever. They never replaced Kola for sucking, so maybe this is a small step. Let’s give Eli a real chance and not crap on him the first block he misses…. Because you know there will be people here doing that.

With Collaros back Oliveira can be a threat coming out of the backfield again. I haven’t double checked stats, but it seems like Brown never threw the ball to him.

If Collaros is back im picking the Blue, with Dru i just don't know which Qb will show up, i expect the Blue to win this one.

I worry about a bloodbath.

Well, start with the Head Coach. Thaty would be an impressive move showing the fans that the Bombers are truly committed to winning. Not the staus quo that is not improving.

That's not really unique to Calgary. Grey Cups have sold poorly for a long time. Even the last ones here and Sask they were scrambling to fill thousands of seats post Labour Day. The last two grey cups they played in the old stadium were basically a joke in terms of a giveaways in the last 3-4 weeks leading up to the game, 98 and 06.

3DownNationBo Levi Mitchell announces return to Hamilton Tiger-Cats...After a season derailed by injury, franchise quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is returning to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2027. “I’m very excited to announce that I’m coming back and make sure everybody un

Believe BLM talked about playing next year.

Meanwhile in Buffalo…

Walters has built his entire career around signing ZC to the detriment of the team. I’m sure he’s loving this news.

I kid about th the GFM account.

All I can say IF the brain trust thinks they're going to regurgitate this steaming pile and run it by the fans that buy the tix in 27'....If that happens wellll they might be in for a rude awakening, especially when the Bomber faithful stop filling PAS and the gravy train is derailed

FIFO should apply to MOS too. He doesn't Fit In anymore.

We're pretty much just going to ride the lame horses until they shoot themselves....or retire.

Not this team...

we lose this weekend..we likely done till 2027 and the purge and player auditions should start immediately

Thing is with Demski...He obviously must have something going on as he has done pretty much nothing of note other than that one big grab for a while...Why not sit him and dress an Import...or bring in a big bodied dominant physical guy to audition on the fly...Ratio could allow it...and hey you may strike gold...Just bringin back our old cuts...or scrap heaped nobodies isnt a real successful venture Do we just pack up shop in season on the scouring of players? There is zero reason to not be bringing in guys all yr to run through the paces and assess

Our defence as well has slowly regressed the further we get from Richie's system.... The bookends of the tenure like you aid...the first 5 yrs, and now the current recent yrs are not indications of excellence...we were getting by mostly from a stacked roster that self coached and policed...and let it erode without the proper succession plans or any forward looking planning. And ability to oach/manage roster ourselves outta it is a major weakness here I actually agree with you for the most part...I dont think we have a sever lack of talent issue...More of an adherene to use some of it....the adherence to maximize what we do have and the relience on what was good before...still being there....coupled with bizzare and pointless roster decisions...refusal to use rules designed to actually benefit us...the rigidity of our ratio...or exceeding it with inferior Canadians for no reason whatsoever other than a coaches bias....and many many dumb in game decisions...well you see what we have morphed into We arent able to win in spite of all that now because we just dont have enough top line guys to cover up for it...and the HC cant see that...or just refuses to accept it

Thats why he was on waivers. He was sent down to the AHL, but needed to clear waivers before he could be assigned.
