He is tremendous on teams; I mean, really exceptional. If he were turned loose instead of playing disciplined and smart, he could pile up a crazy number of teams tackles. I had hoped that this would translate to tremendous D play eventually; his skills really pop and they should shine on D. But with limited reps, they haven't. We also gave up on diversifying his skill set. I wish we had continued developing him as a S and a wall wil/nickle db. Though maybe he just didn't take to it. I think he would still be an upgrade at wil/mac. Woodbey, ayers, and smith would be tremendous together. @booch, I am impressed beyond belief at how well Smith played Sam last night. Holy cow, that kid is more than just a ratio breaker. No matter what we ask of him, he goes out and does it. He picks stuff up at lightning speed and plays the game fast and physical. We should be trying to lock him up to an extension quickly. Woodbey has that versatility that we haven't had since BA and Biggie were in their primes. He can play at all levels and do it well. The 2 deep S look is horrible. Idk why we are forcing it soo much. Or why we don't just go with a guy like Smith and an imp. Its a free spot on the bingo card. Kelly is a bit limited, but he has the basic function of most canadian S/DBs in the league. He's the only one who should see any time on D, ever. And even that should be heavily limted. The kid has every thing you could ask for. Tangibles and intangibles. If we don't raise him up soon, he will be doing it for some one else before long. Money, and the will to improve. Thats about it. Great write up by booch, I'm gonna add that I love the little bits of development I see from Reese. I liked him dropping back some, and I love how he plays. I think he's playing more reps with too little strategy for this point in his career, but I really look forward to seeing what he can do next year. The OL needs a shake up as bad, if not worse, then the secondary. I think that is our worst position group by a mile.
