Its still crazy we acquired brown before **** hit the fan in Hamilton, the timing of the trade was perfect by Walters.

I don't know him personally so I don't know if he has the self-awarness and/or humility to do so. Live shot of me walking to the computer to share one of them.

I'd be happy if Ottawa goes 0-18 just because Dinwiddie comes across as a giant ******.

I think the Als would be ok with Crum. He looked pretty good at times last year on a bad Ottawa team. To me he’s a fringe starter/quality backup.

Live shot of me at the office reacting to @Pete Catan's Ghost well played comment

Their rationale was spot on too - they wanted to do a deal early, in order to avoid a bidding war, should multiple QB's (like ZC & BLM) go down with injury. Dinwiddie is probably kicking himself for getting rid of Dru so quickly.

Hopefully Dru rips Ottawa a new one.

29/50, which is a bit over average over all for qbs. But most starters are in the low 30s. My biggest hope with this money is that the league invests in the Ops cap. After that, reinvest in grassroots ball.

Hamilton & Winnipeg did the same thing until we traded for Brown. Most teams are F'd if the starter goes down.

also, I ******* hate boring football. There's fewer things uglier than a CFL game with inept quarterbacking.

Quite a few fully practicing but out. Hopefully clercius is back in next week. Would be a huge improvement

Lawson being doubtful is a concern.

Score. I did think he would, but good news. This should be a big game for brady, which means browns job should be much easier

Do you have a gif that will represent you showing yourself out at least?

Having two strong backs would also help Powell a whole lot.

yeah...players will see some...and the possible changes may eat up some...but teams if they put in the effort...use the Bombers template as a way to do it can get fan engagement and make the game day a place to be...just have to get off their butts and do it I do think as well that some of the changes may not come about...especially if this seasons game continue on the path they are Some the rule changes...the clock thing...rouge change....benches where they should be...all for it...and hopefully a game day roster increase by 2..3 guys comes to fruition....But some rethinking of the field changes may get put on back burner for a while. Cause really they aren't an issue and if anything will cause less excitement, and unneeded costs...so why bother? The thing right now is all teams save for Ottawa..I guess Ham now had legit/effective starters...the field dynamics had nothing todo with scoring

with next yr revenue from TV/Streaming deals basically tripling teams should be in black for most part...especially if they figure out how to market like we do

It's probably not net revenue. Increased income but still not turning a profit

Trevor Harris historically has had trouble staying healthy. Talk about rolling the dice as he's 40 years old. How can the Riders not have a transition plan in place to replace the guy at his age?? If they get thru the entire season & win another Grey Cup with Harris as their starting qb then Corey Mace better buy a Lotto Max ticket as he'll be the luckiest head coach the CFL ever had.

Stevens is a joke actually. We call Maier, "McCheese". He's got nothing on that guy. Osh being Osh covets that extra 2nd round pick. Make it a first rounder & maybe I'd be onboard.

Well even better question... Why is that position even a Canadian position when we don't have the Canadian bodies there to make it work?

In regards to QB's here...Who starting..who backing up and if they are a pricey backup....etc All irrelevant...we are paying for 3 guys regardless of what order we run them out...so makes no difference if ZC is a high paid backup....or a over-payed average starter End of the day we paying what we paying, and a lot of ZC money is already payed anyway...So if we nose dive seriously and are out of it by game 12..13....Then dealing him then is an easy thing as he would not kill a teams sms....That being said if it's a team who has already lost their starter for a significant amount of time then his salary has been off the books anyway Personally...I see some bright days ahead this season...I hear some guys are gonna be back sooner than later...and will kinda revamp our defence which seems to be gelling a bit, especially as we toned down the substituting, and just a few minor tweeks and change in usage should bring us over the top...And the fact we have 2 very capable starters now at QB....to cover any injury or a guy just sucking....we are setting up pretty good.... My only concern is Osh just effing it all up...as he has done past 3 yrs...and that real dumb use of a DA last game...and this insistence to run 2 useless 3rd Canadian WR's just leads me to believe he hasn't learned...wont change....doesn't know how to make the right changes...and will probably be the main culprit of any failure this yr again Hope I am wrong on that and we do another win in spite of him thing

Even funnier coming from Dinwiddie who was the real noodle arm QB.

Good to see Zach back in pads but we know everyone wants Dru to start, even Ottawa fans probably want Dru to annihilate the Redblacks to stick it to Dumbwiddie.

I’m sorry that record is reserved for the Argos and the Riders. We do though have 1-17 available if that’s something that interests you.

Agree on both investing in the Ops cap and grassroots football.

there ya are @HardCoreBlue haha That's cause I had already picked him in fantasy yesterday...i setting the tone now lol

YOU did choose one the little guy body builders haha

Me, in my head, not being truthful with myself, reacting to being called little buddy Okay that's enough. I'm showing myself out. p.s. Argos suck

An early Frost is never a good thing.

Hey I know what can generate revenue: Rule changes, that’s the ticket.

I recall him owning us as a starter when in CGY in a game....or 2 He needs to be with a good supporting cast, players and coaching, and not have to drag a team to finish line on his back...he just not that guy Perfect backup tho...especially in an in game injury situation

Maier was won multiple football games in the CFL (not this year). He's absolutely shown he is capable. His biggest problem is consistency and turnovers. Which is why he'd be a fine backup. He's no franchise QB though.

I said it at the beginning of the season and I'll say it again ... Dinwiddie is really being exposed as a guy who was carried by the high level of talent in Toronto. When you hand him the keys, he's too stubborn and egotistical to realize he's making mistake after mistake after mistake. I don't agree with a lot of the things O'Shea does on a weekly basis but the one thing I'll always give him credit for is that he gives our franchise credibility in the biggest way. Dinwiddie makes his franchise look like a joke. Aside from trading Dru Brown after publicly shitting on him (and then going 0-5 with the guy he said was better), hasn't he also threatened to cut a player publicly after talking about how he should be embarrassed to watch film in front of his teammates? Didn't he pull the same thing last year and then not follow up on it? The guy is an idiot and if the players haven't already tuned him out, they will soon.

Yes but the people who use that phrase completely misunderstand that it is more apt to apply to supporters than critics.

Fumbling Dru Brown for Jake Maier is an all time bone headed move. I’ve been un happy with us moving on from brown the moment it happened. The fact we get a second chance for a succession plan after Zach leaves gives me a lot of hope. The thought of potentially giving Terry Wilson the keys to the franchise was a scary thought.

Jake Maier the backup isn't a horrible situation... Jake Maier the starter... Aye yi yi

yup...no reason to rush him back now...at any point in season...What's 1 more game to be sure he's good? It also get's Dru more acclimated and in sync with everything, so if and when ZC gets back to starting...and goes down again....Brown is ready. If ZC gets back, and we scuffling and or he is playing poor....there should be zero reason for Osh to not make the switch in a game...He shouldn't worry about anything else other than getting the more productive guy on the field...its a luxury we now have that hasnt been here in a while....use it

We are in a situation now that we can err on the side of caution with Zac. If he's not totally 100 he should sit this week

Yep, if Zach is out for 2-3 games and Dru is lighting it up, why would you switch back?

Personally...I'd go with the hot hand and the more productive when both are 100 percent....like why wouldn't you in order to give best chance to win

I mean even if you believe Zach is the guy that gives you the best chance to win I think with Zachs history with injuries, the confident in Brown being able to step in and win footballs games, and it being so early in the season I think you rest him. Now that being said I think as of today Dru Brown gives us the best chance to win football games. You don’t give up what we gave up for him if you didn’t think he was going to be our guy sooner rather than later. I’ll say this. It’s been 7-8 years since Zach had to compete and sweat it out. Competition is always a good thing. If O’Shea stays with Zach once he’s healthy (and let’s face it, he probably will) I’m hoping it brings out the best in him.

It shouldn't be up to ZC anyway....it should be due to being healthy, as well as what @kelownabomberfan said performance. If feelongs are hurt than you shouldn't be playing pro sports and what kind of teammate does that make you pouting? I'd give Dru this game soley to really get him up to speed as well as to make certain ZC is 100 percent. If the following week ZC is deemed ready, put him back...but if he is just meh...or looking like previous season and a half ZC then a quick hook should be made...Tome for Osh to be a HC and not a buddy and wanna be liked...team first...not bias If Brown lights it up big time this weekend...why yank him the following game tho?...what's the harm in going with the hot hand, and it also allows ZC to totally heal...or at the least, remain healthy. Sure would look foolish if Brown balls out...rips off some wins...plays lights out and has offence playing in 5th gear, only to be benched to watch ZC come in...as offence sputters around in 3rd gear, and we lose ZC been here going into yr 6....Brown into yr 4...not like he some unknown newbie who hasn't been around a while...he's earned it as much as ZC has when you look at it

I know I sound like a broken record, but man we could use some of the old school 80's methodology here whereby Zach is given 3 or 4 series to do something, and then he's pulled and Brown goes in. No screwing around all game waiting for Zach to "warm up" if he's sucking crap. Just like when Huffer would come in when Clements wasn't getting it done.

I write this with conviction based on MOS’s approach to certain players he loves and adores, there is absolutely no chance that ZC loses his starting job until ZC decides he no longer wants it.
