I think you're looking for the word 'conjecture'....the board is full of it....I don't mean 'full of it'' in the derogatory sense....although some takes come close to it....How some fans can claim they are 'privy' to inside operations is amazing...In the end it ends up being 'controversial' and that's what this board and others feed off...It's all good and I'm sure there's enough intelligent people on here that can sift through the commentary and pass judgement on what is believable and just isn't.....
  2. 5 points
I highly doubt the Bombers would do this... but I would drop Jones and Wilson in a heartbeat if we had a chance to sign McManis... I'd start McManis at MLB and Ayers at WIL... the money would be close to even that way and the production would probably be better

Hell we have had players, players parents at very least post on message boards prior to this one so I doubt I'd be surprised by anything. I'm 90% sure Glen Suitor reads these boards and uses it for his material prep.

I DO have some very valuable inside, privy-type info. When going to the privy, doing so inside is waaaay better than outside. You may find that controversial, but it is entirely true. In general, I don't like that insider info type of thing. 99% of the time, it's BS. 1-2 people on here do get some, but the nature of football is that you might get it, and it might be true. Then, 2 weeks later, it changes. If it's a week-old bit of info, it could go south very fast. Because I'm not involved in the follow ups, I generally disregard inside info. People would be surprised by some of the types who lurk on here, or the relationships a few posters have with players, coaches, etc. I can speak to that from personal experience, and for an absolute fact. What people tell them with those relationships, I can't speak to.

  7. So... you guys are fighting over the riders. Ew.

Yeah he kinda sucked his way off too JJ brings experience...and also returned kicks in college and averaged i believe a shade over 24 yards a kick...so is already miles ahead If Vaval grabs an actual roster spot...or we allow our Canadian LB's to assume a bigger role...he could technically be a quite solid DA for us...backup returner..change of pace back..plus he can catch
  9. 2 points
Yeah...goes both ways too...with even more out in space takes of certainty with zero potential inside knowledge..minimal football I.Q...or actual knowledge of the inner workings and how organizations generally do things is beyond amazing...just saying

It's the degree of certainty with which people in this board speak, in regards to things that may or may not have happened... That amazes me day in and day out.

Ted Goveia backed up the Brinks truck last year (mostly for our guys lol) and this is what happens the next year after a lot of times. Wynton is a vast improvement for them though. Gonna be tough sledding for BLM's muscle cream bill this year tho.

McManis is a guy I would make room for. That being said, it's an SMS world so the numbers have to work. That being said, I would be very surprised if we don't hear of a McManis signing today. I find it hard to believe that the Argos would let him ride into FA early unless he had a number from another team that they just can't match. Would like to see us kick the tires on McEwen, and Shane Ray see if we could make either of them fit.

McManis hasn't agreed to terms in Hamilton yet has he? No room for him really but he's a baller.

  17. Taylor looks like a 'speedster' type while Cooley was more of 'bulling' type runner....Like the looks of JJ and probably has the talent to stick....We couldn't seem to find a way to keep Cooley although he did 'do himself in' when the fumbles started, and I don't believe anyone else in the league seen enough to bring him in, in any event

There is a lot of speculation and opinion around here trying to present itself and fact and insider knowledge. Some of it is closer to the truth than others, but at the end not a single one of us knows much about what goes on behind closed doors at PAS. Every team, management group etc has different dynamics/power structures that none of us are privy too. It's why we have the endless back and forth of who is in charge MOS or KW. None of us with the exception of the scouts, Wadzilla and the coaching staff know the answer to that. Every team is different. Every management group is different, so those that may have past experience with a different group may assume the same model is in place with this one....and it could be vastly different. That's coming from someone with years of corporate and then private business ownership experience to glean from.

Given how O'Shea hung onto players that were close to useless to the detriment of the team, the message had to be that players could play very poorly and still keep their jobs so long as they kissed up. Word gets around.

McManis definitely an improvement BUT I don't think it makes up for the downgrade in other areas in the hammer.....AND I don't care how much muscle cream BoLevi uses....I think this is the year his arm falls off and sitting on the panel will start looking awfully good

Riders sign Josh Woods LBer formerly of BC Lions. Big downgrade there.

Nice add for Hamilton but they've lost 3 olineman, two quality wr and their starting rb. Behind the 8 ball right now.
  24. 1 point
We already saw it last year. When BO went down we went with Peterson initially but the change was made to IMP RB shortly after.

He's one of those guys every team in the league should consider. It's like when we basically got Biggie by default after his NFL stint. Everyone else didn't have money or a spot, so we offered a princely deal on a real up-and-comer team, but the competition for him was beyond light. That was a brutal mistake by the rest of the league, as he came back and was one of the very best defensive players for a couple of years. His versatility was a keystone to our D, just like BA going to S later on. Ever team should kick the tires on him.

sure there is room....you get rid of lesser players...and older ones with no upside...hello Jones and Kyrie

You being you isn't exactly a treat for many forum members here. Not sure when it is that you decided your opinion allowed you to act like a jerk off to those that disagree with it under the guise of calling a spade a spade? Maybe you ran out of blue pills? Idk...but at least dont put words in others mouths to justify your failure to post civilly. At no point did anyone here call him a bad coach, but you decided to read that into some criticisms of his performance and be the self imposed defender of his honor. I know you are old but not everyone thinks in black and white like you do.
  28. 1 point
Because it's you being you. Would have liked to get him back. O'Leary-Orange. He's 31. Maybe the best LBer in the CFL.
  29. 1 point
Can confirm - ran it through Google Translate and this is what came back:
  30. I would hope at the expense of Kyrie but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
  31. I didn't get the impression from O'Shea that moving Kramdi was in the cards. Ratio wise Kramdi switching with Griffin offsets but it eliminates an import safety ( Allen to CB ). That would give us 3 changes in the secondary and 1 at SAM. Yes there is some experience and ability to do that. However we also have 3 changes on the DL. I think your bias against Kramdi is influencing your thought on changes. It's not the math of how many Canadian starters we have. It's the fixed number of imports allowed on the roster. I'm not convinced we go we 3 Canadian receivers although that would create the ratio switch from receiver to OL. For that matter I'm not entirely convinced we do go to 3 import OL. Considering the number of OL signed it may turn out as more likely than I believe. Even you suggested an import rookie receiver starting. Anyway. We've added some great talent this week and I'm not sure which combinations we'll see when all is said and done. Lots of choices to be made.

    Exactly this.
  33. yeah we were already transitioning the safety thing last yr And Griffin is just too goo to keep off the field, as how can you exclude one of your best tacklers, and a guy who can oplay great coverage at 220 pounds...you just cant Him and Woodbey I can see Younger using the heck outta in many ways, And our oline situ which was looking kinda bleak last yr....is in good shape for yrs to come with youngester in Randolph and Vpool...Vibert...Wallace and Broxton who prob has at least 4 good yrs in him
  34. Vanterpool* is drastically better at guard than Randolph. Vanterpool is a G that we tried to shoehorn into T. Randolph is a T. At the point of rando at G you may as well just be going with 3 NIs. If we used a naturalized imp or di on the OL, we could use Randolph on the outside shoulder of big stan. Randolph's primary college use was as a 6th ol in heavy sets, both passing and running. You could na bryant and still have him play most of the reps with Rando in on heavy passing downs. Or you could DI rando. Unless Bryant has a resurgence like Hardrick did, though, Rando is the better pass blocker. He was all of last year. Imo, with Rando and Broxton, we have the 2 best pass blocking Ts in the league. With Rando a small margin over Yoshi, though Yoshi was the best run blocking ol in the whole league again last year. Broxton was one of the best run blockers, too. He's just a freakin beast. Does seem from last year that they want to move Kramdi to S. I could see it being a package /base for pass d. Griffin at Sam, Kramdi at S, maybe even in a 2 high we showed some last year with 1 Canadian, and Woodbey at Wil.
  35. well Kramdi was worked and used at safety already...And Griffin was used at SAM and was our best SAM in yrs since Darby before he got yanked for Kramdi 3 import oline is easy...especially if we go 3 canadian recievers, but we dont even have to....Have a C and Guard...BO...Demski and another Cdn reciever...thats 5...Lawson and Kramdi on defence..theres the 7...And you rotate in Shay/Smith....Bailey....easy peasy
  36. So what's left for us this offseason? The biggest need is on the DL. We got about 13 guys, fairly evenly split between inside and out. We for sure need a few more pass rushers, an import nose or two, and some Canadian talent inside or out. I expect that to be filled by rookies and draft picks. On OL, we got 18 guys already, which is crazy, especially when we already have more starters than spots. We have a ton of imp Ts who are actual tackles for once as well. Even though tackle is our deepest position now. We still need to draft some OL talent, as you basically always need to. And add Centre depth. At Back, another Canadian FB who is a natural blocking type would be good. Even better if they are an H back/te. Another Canadian RB would be good for camp, though it's a low priority and low chance to make the team. At WR, we have about 18 guys. We only have 3 guys, 6'2 or bigger, and one of them is 180lbs lol. I expect we will add around 5+ more. Need more young Canadians as always, and some big down field possesion guys. I expect that to be all rookies as well. Would love to see us get a big down field guy who kicked around the NFL a while and is further along. QB, I don't think what we need is going to be available for a backup. So just the best of a bad fa group. Lber, we got 14 + guys, and both the starters and AR are going to be impossible to take spots from, unless we see a huge rash of injuries. DB, we have 21 guys and only 2 are 30+. It's pretty good, also with a deep core of starting options. A couple more bodies are likely for the rookie camp. I'd love to see a couple more modern Sams who are bigger db/lber tweeners and a bit more true cover-corner types. On teams, someone to push the punter and take reps off both him and Sergio in camp would be good. Doesn't hurt to audition kickers in this league either. No matter who you have. Vaval is pretty locked in if healthy, but we really need some KR depth. We need guys to eat up reps in TC, and an insurance policy for Vaval. Our kick cover team is in a great spot. More versatile guys with size who excel in blocking would be ideal. Maybe a project type to develop. (Canadian H-back would be clutch) All in all, the roster is in a pretty great spot for this time of year. Definitely in the top group competing to win the off-season. Going into camp, that is the best move and line-up imo. Though the Ts have to win their spot, and so do Paddy and Eli. Vanterpool, I think, would be damn hard to beat at G. That or, like was discussed fully previously, you slide big stan inside.
  37. I can say with confidence...whoever takes the center spot...will be better than what we had the last several yrs....so that is a net positive as it will radiate right across both sides of the line And if they come out of camp dominant, and gelling and ol ZC has a couple games early on where he could have a sandwich...some potatoe chips...lil kool aide on the side...and just disect defences....that would be the best thing too
  38. Moreso as well the 2 guards not having to worry or try and compensate to whats on their left...and right
