  1. Moving on from Kola is another good move by Walters.

  3. Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does. Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got worth it, but there's worse guys to over pay than a home grown legit MOP candidate who can do it all at the position.

  4. Schmek, improved before his injury, as a back-up rotational piece with Lawson, combined with his play on Jumbo packages, he is a perfect fit IMO. I could be wrong but I don't think he will be ready for the start of the season anyway...... Kola moving on and Thomos transitioning into coaching, in conjunction with signing, mostly Canadian starters thus far has been IMO a great offseason start...

  7. I know it's off season but is it time for this?

  8. Except that he wasn't. Brady finished with over 100 yards more on 82 less touches. This includes rushing and rec. The only metric that has Mills being better is TDs, but that doesn't really incorporate how the Bombers operate inside the 5.

  10. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for convos about what the team wants the OL to look like this season. Still no word on Stan and Paddy is curious just because they're usually among the first to sign back on. I'm not sure a wholesale change on the line is a good thing, so ideally you'd like to see SOME continuity but we're off to a good start....

  11. still....people here say playoffs is a success...so if a success....does that not mean a "crap" team as per OP? Just going off narrative here that peole claimed we were sucessfull last several yrs due to the playoff thing...when people were discussing ridding ourselves of Osh dont think he will be heathy and ready to start the yr....Hopefully we learned from the Schoen fiasco of rushing a guy back...especially an interior lineman who will be in constant threat of getting his knee crashed down on in the melee that is line play yeah....if/when healthy he will be a key piece for rotation and jumbo packages both sides of the ball.....shedding Kolo and Thomas also frees up close to 300k used elsewhere...I know Kolo made 150k lastt yr...I sure thomas wasnt below 120k

  12. wooooooow! kola cut at last, happy days! I’m pretty stunned. Hopefully schmekel doesn’t take jake level snaps or top 4. With out a significant step forward. We’ve thrown too much money at a couple guys, but we’ve kept the main ones we need and gotten rid of the worst of the roster. That’s a big step up. If we can get 1-2 key free agent pick ups, we will be well situated for next year. Especially need another strong draft as well.

  14. Happy he's gone, but its pretty sad that it took this long for the team to finally move on from a guy that even the most casual fan could see was garbage for years now.

I will chime in that we went to the Winter Wonderland lights at the Downs this year for the first time and it was fantastic. I would recommend for anyone who has not gone yet, it is worth checking it out next year when it comes back. I think the drive was around 20 minutes in length , 30 dollars per car (a bit steep), but my youngest had the biggest grin on her face which made it well worth going.

  19. It doesn't fit the narrative that Mills is the best back in the league. I won't bring up the fact that BO had a better YPC average either, cause he won't care about that stat.

  20. Offseason or not that gif is always relevant around here.

  21. lol that's an absolutely brain dead take. Right up there with Nye's take on Brady being named the MOP..."he only scored 4 tds!" So sure, go ahead and only use the stats that back up your narrative, whatever makes you feel better i guess.

  22. Show his stats....full 2 seasons as a starter and then justify he "makes" plays I dont think he's eclipsed 60 tackles yet, and at his position he should be up with league leaders...did he even break the top 50??...I do know he has only 1 int in his career and what...maybe 1 FF??..How does that garner elite pay, let alone being a Canadian Starter...Start a Canadian when they clearly the best, and you have adequate back-up or ability/desie to adjust ratio for an injury issue...we have neither in that regard for SAM....But if we went import...more than enough...It's hardly a narrative agreed....decent role/depth but should not be your starter unless injury isSues are ravaging us....let alone paid as one of top DB's/SAMS in league....Just cause he's Canadian?...thats where if thats what he wants and only way to retain him....you move on and re-adjust your SMS....I doubt he would have got that anywhere else....as he wouldnt bump a current starter out, so the smart move was let him get FA feelers out there and come back to us with what he has been offered, and make a decision then....for 16 games played..47 tackles...1 int...not sure how that gets you a 45k bump over an already inflated previous deal A lot of players have gone thru a lot too.....shouldnt factor into anything contract wise

  24. I’d still go after woodmansey if he hits FA, but Vibert is also a real sleeper at C too. C is also a spot you can get a high floor draft pick to contribute at right away. Not every year, but many years. And we have historically drafted very well at C under the mafia.

  25. Imo, he’s perfect as a 3rd/4th dt / 6/7th dl. Like you said he’s very useful as a package guy in heavy sets on both sides of the ball. We really need a great imp 3 tech who can kick outside in both 30 and 40 fronts. An imp nose to rotate with lawson would also be fantastic. Major props to schmekel whose crafted himself into a very good end of the roster canadian. Love to see a young big do what ever it takes to be useful. If he takes another step forward that would be incredible, but i’m not expecting that.

  26. The 2026 SMS increased by the $400K that was implemented in 2025. Most teams didn't get a chance to spend all that was available last year. Regardless the new SMS is being spent on some players being re-signed to higher level contracts.

  30. Plus BO saves puppies. Puppies. Okay i’ll let the adults get back to talking even though we all should know BO is, to date, THE best all around best RB in the league hands down.

  31. I literally walk downtown every morning at 645am. I mean I’ve never experienced any problems. I mean ppl asking for money or smokes isn’t a problem and headphones pretty much tells ppl to **** off. This fake narrative about downtown is part of the problem here. Every city has a major meth problem. It’s not Winnipeg exclusive. Calgary Edmonton Toronto Montreal and Vancouver all have the same issues. All of them. Vancouver is worse.

  32. Yes he does make plays, I watched numerous games where he stood out making a timely play. Watching him on TSN they bring him up in a positive light on a semi frequent basis. It's not like Jake Thomas where the best they can say is "He's been around a long time" and "He is a player that is playing on a team". He's making more plays then he is whiffing. It's a matter of people making something out of nothing. If we were to watch and isolate every play Stanley Bryant was on, you would see him whiffing blocks also. Much more lately then 5 years ago. It's just that he doesn't have a narrative where people want to hate on him , so it goes un talked about on here. Kramdi is a good player, B level IMO. It's not an outrageous signing like F level Jake Thomas or back when they kept the F level Navy Seal guy around for a year.

  33. Can we re-structure Zach's contract so we add money for TD's thrown and reduce money for each INT? Deduct $500 each time he tosses into triple coverage? We'd come out paying him league minimum salary!

  34. iVE never liked his use and or pay since 2022....Guys depth...but thats about it...not a topline starter...has too many holes in his game ever to be one...isnt required for ratio (which also augments not even best option on club)....may reasons...and to pay him likely the top 3 salaries on club for defensive players for what he offers....just dumb....he was a Canadian we could easily have walked away from and not even noticed...dont care how smart he is and how many spots they claim he knows....if the talent isnt top shelf...then you should be a backup...maybe focus on mastering one spot and not all them...cause he aint playing but 1...maybe 2 spots on the defence nope...anyone who is not the best option...but as much as you like to yammer on about the Canadian part...a CIS guy is light yr behind a NCAA or even JUCO trained guy....save for the random outlier yup...nailed it...love and loyalty to some guys when their paycheque outweighs their usefulness for over all roster needs to be fixed...we dump big money at times to guys we should move on from...as the ripple effect leaves us lean... he makes minimal if any impact plays game in and game out...but you will notice him every game lost in space in coverage...whiffing on tackles...in chase.....Thats not 185k value....I dont hate the guy as a player....hate the use and the pay...He's good crashing down in the box and mucking it up along l.o.s....thats about it...and that should be hi role....role player/situational.....and those guys dont get premium... Look at other SAM's in the league...you notice them and they make impact plays....Even Woodbey made more noticeable plays and similar stats in half the games played....and for all the haters...where in league would Kramdi bump a current SAM out of his spot?...do tell...and they all male less....currently

  35. I take it that GCn20 & others here wants to get rid of the ratio so we can stop paying all those annoying Canadians more money than they deserve. That's what it's going to come down to, In order to stop the overpaying, we have to get rid of the ratio so we can sign cheaper American players in their place. Maybe the answer is lowering the ratio to 4 starters? Two?

  37. Nobody knows more about elite athleticism than 35 to 70 year old men online who don’t play pro. I also don’t get the hate as he’s a versatile smart starting Canadian. Starting Canadians prob should get paid. I mean it is the Canadian football league. The whining about cap allocation is also hilarious as nobody really has a clue there. There is no cfl salary cap site that updates every 2 hours. I mean. Who cares. It’s really not our concern.

  38. Does he though? Not trying to be sarcastic, but what's the last play you remember him making? Im not sure those stats are on the side of your argument. It has been difficult watching more wins than losses.

  39. I don't get the hate either. He is a very good SLB, the fact that people call him unathletic is hilarious.

  40. Hating the contract is not hating the player. I really liked Kramdi, as do others here not liking the $. Same for BO. Love having the guy hate the contract

  41. Kramdi is real nice depth... now the argument starts about how much is that depth worth and is it worth him taking as many reps as he gets... Also, in case there was ever any doubt with Thomas retiring who was going to be #1 on the Booch **** list..... Kramdi ladies and gentlemen.

  42. wonder why they released Kolo before his deal expired...I sure there are not oodles of teams kicking down his door to sign him before the frenzy...seems odd, but long over due

  43. Onward and hopefully upward. It’ll be interesting to see who we fill qb coach with now. I hope this was planned on our part, i suspect it was since jackson is taking a lateral position. I feel like we either go with a club retread, khari, glenn, maybe nichols, or we go with an upside guy from the us. Id also love to get masoli or he retires.

  44. Koala & Thomas are gonzo as players. Great news for the OL. It's too bad that Osh hung on to these guys for so long. They were so bad that they actually became the butt of bad jokes here & on the rest of social media. Any respect fans had for them as players disappeared years ago. That should never happen.

  46. Is there a specific metric you are taking into account here? Brady had more 20+ yard rushes on 49 less carries, so he's by far a bigger threat to to bust a big one than Mills. Mills was busting a 10+ yard run every 5.5 carries or so, whereas Brady was about every 6.5 carries but even that isn't a huge difference. Brady also had a bigger YPC than Mills. Would have been neat to see what kind of stats Brady would have put up had he not missed effectively 4 games. Would have probably have had 2000 yards from scrimmage for sure.

  47. Now now, we constantly mention how tackles is a misleading stat to judge a player on. We would rather our D have less tackles , the league leaders usually are guys on crap teams who are on the field more then they should be. You only remember this because it's the only time he's done anything on the field. I can't name specifically each time Willie swatted a ball out of the air, I just know that he has done it multiple times. Kramdi laid in many big hits, it's a common occurence so re-watch the games and you'll see he's more of a factor then many of the guys on our D. Big plays don't always equal a great all around player. I remember people frothing at the mouth when we first had Houston because of his ints.... and remembering those big plays but then forgetting the numerous times he was burned for big passing plays.
