The decision is one that teams who contend for a long time have to make. Collaros has been on borrowed time since 2018. Dru Brown was insanely productive and with enough reps to know it wasn't a mirage. Like double the reps Mike Reilly had before Edmonton handed him the keys and contended for the next half decade. Wally Buono made similar decisions about 4 times in his career. Basically could have handed Collaros back to Hamilton or maybe even Toronto to play out his career. Not the worst thing, it's where they live (his family). Tough decision, but those have to be made. No one would have been worse off. Collaros playing pretty poorly in terms of putting up points in playoff games since the 2019 playoffs would have helped my decision making.

Also have to consider whoever our QB is that we have like 1 CFL receiver on the field and a bunch of guys.

Peyton Logan is going on 11 weeks of not practicing. Are they going to have the amputate the leg or what?

Pretty big moment for Streveler on Friday. Hopefully we get week 1 Streveler when he’s getting starter reps in practice. Pretty sure Lofton is ready to play.

My thoughts were keep brown and let he and streveler figure out who the man was. Trade collaros for assets (and let's be honest Ottawa was desperate and probably would have loved to get collaros at the time). You save money on qb position and can bolster other areas of the team. Would brown have been injured here? Who knows. Different team different circumstances.

You have to think they would look to player changes before coaching changes.

Collaros started the year as the MOP front runner and the fell off HARD and Brady was the guy that dragged the offense along the rest of the year (and has since). Was plain as day what was happening and the Bombers went the "safe" route rather than taking the risk which ultimately would have been better for the team.

Those are two opposite ideas, you don’t have a lot of control if you have to toe the line. @JuranBoldenRules spelled it out pretty well in a post in some other thread. We went from four (and sometimes five) man lines with heavy rotation under Hall to three man fronts with little rotation under Younger. Pretty clear Osh let each of them run the D as they saw fit. It also seems clear that after two poor showings against the Stamps some changes were made. No idea if it was forced or Younger’s idea, but it’s a good sign it happened.

I don’t think it’s as clear cut as that. Partly because we have created a strong echo chamber with forced indoctrination. Fit in or **** off, any one who doesn’t fit doesn’t get any job here or doesn’t stay. Wether some one like Jy thinks Jake gives us a better chance to win or not, I don’t think any one would go against the grain and say other wise. Also, Jy is both great and not great. Hes a young dc still. He’s a coverage/secondary specialist. He’s still learning and developing his approach to fronts. I think Jy/hogan have a lot of control on their rosters, as long as they toe the line. For Jy, I’d certainly be willing to take the lumps and let him develop. He adjusted mid season last year really well. He’s starting to show the same this year. Hogan, my hope for is slipping.

So the backup Corcoran is supposed to know how to play all receiver positions, yet a guy we signed can only play one? Even while writing this post it seems ridiculous.

The buck stops with the head coach ultimately. If his coordinators are pushing for subpar roster usage coach needs to set it right.

Surely with Kody Case out, they will dress Dillon Mitchell

Lofton is my guess but I have no idea if he is actually close to having the rust off. Other option would be to shove Wallace out to RT. We’ve done that with Neuf in the past, but given his play this year and struggles to start last I would not do that. Eli in, Wallace over or Lofton in is probable the extent of it. And neither option is pretty.

If we don't start playing much better, these sellouts are going to come to an end. A lot on the line for the Bombers.

Snafu, we kept bridges because he was pencilled in as the starter going into camp. Only mos’ pencil drips pen ink and still shows through considerable amounts of white out. Db was a tough battle at camp. Gowan could’ve been a pr guy for a while and I wouldn’t be stunned if he was in camp next year. A ton of guys performed well at db, other than bridges lol. Out back up and cut defence might’ve been better than our first month starters. If not it would’ve been pretty close.

I was going to make a joke earlier today about Cooley being added onto roster instead of Mitchell but I had figured having a guy who barely caught a ball in College added to the roster as a receiver instead of a dude you signed to be a receiver to a fair amount of fanfare was TOO ridiculous

3 starting Canadian receivers plus 3 on OL plus Brady = 7. Kramdi makes it 8. No need for Jake. He signed well before Free agency. As did J Jones.
