Yeah....smart move is to have one new guy on the PR but I'd be shocked if Our 3 to start are not Collaros...Streveler and Wilson Strev being on a 1 yr deal...ZC on his last yr...and in my opinion last legs as a legit guy to tie your wagon to past this seaon I would assume Strev gets a lot of opportunity and packages to prove he can be the guy moving forward...and rightfully so....Has experience...has shown he can win games (If used as a QB) and has leadership and respect of the room...Wilson is right now in the Dru Brown scenario developing and has in my opinion more upside and a better skill-set...In his rookie season you could see the poise and pocket presence...the arm....and is more mobile....Looked way more adbanced and polished than Dru looked....so not forcing him....and letting him develop and learn another yr running short yardage is the right/smart move. Big E obviously is a work in progress/project...and rightly so...there is a reason why you rarely see a Canadian QB step in right away and look legit who hasn't been playing 3..4 yrs of College ball in the U.S as well in most cases U.S Prep school even before that....just aint happening as they so far beneath the curve right outta school it's not even close Before anyone throws out Ford as an example...he basically did diddly other than some sandlot stuff that had a bit of success...but isnt sustainable and jury is out if he can even ever advance past that....the film we have seen as a true QB is pretty suspect and he looked way out of his comfort zone...Big yr for him to see if he develops/advances...or even maintains the starters gig

IMO, Zach has struggled with some injury concerns, and he is another year older, Strev. is coming off a serious injury, Wilson has thrown what, two passes in a regular season game.... Now let's hope Zach lights it up and stays healthy all the way to another GC. Let's hope Strev. comes in ready at the start of camp and spells off Zach on some packages with success and shows he can take over next year....Let's hope Elegesma makes it to our team at some point this season and shows he isn't too far behind the imports.....The newest guy maybe a look see and PR, maybe a look see and bring him back next year....But IMO we should have a back-up that has at least thrown some passes in this league and started a few games, whether on the IR, or AR, IR.....or even hiding on a CJ "farm team"...lol IF TC goes great and Strev. proves he is 100% and Elgersma makes it here and shows he isn't too far behind I think we can look at releasing, but I believe until TC or even RC we keep Patterson...heck 6 arms in RC and early TC would be a nice luxury to have.

Elgersma if he does attend camp wouldn't cost a roster spot. I agree there's a limit to how many qb's make sense for training camp but the value I see to having someone like Patterson there even if he's hard pressed to make the team is that when injuries happen later in the season its nice to have a couple of experienced QB's out there who can come in and help the team quickly if need be because they are already familiar with what you're doing.

He was/is fast in a straight line but neither explosive off the line or capable of making a deke.

Make or break season for Steveler. He has to show that he is good enough to replace Collaros permanently if need be. Never say never.

In a few years, most of the rock acts from the 60's & 70's will be gone. Then the Classic Rock era will end just like the big bands of the 30's & 40's did. My father had over 500, 78's in his collection. Bands like Glenn Miller, Spike Jones & The City Slickers, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como & Wilf Carter. I used to pull them out of his collection & listen to them when I was a teenager on my record player (in the days before my stereo system) as it had a 78 speed on it. While the music wasn't my style, I still appreciated & enjoyed listening to it.

Good to see Ehlers back if indeed he is ready to go and can be effective based on his current health status. JOMO lets go. It just angers me to see #55 missing and makes me think of not good thoughts when it comes to Blue Players. With no disrespect to Names, such a drop off in what we need on our first line. Hope they can rise to the challenge tonight, win by committee, Helle shows his Vezina self. Gonna be interesting to see how the Jets respond tonight, missing one of their leaders, no last change, hostile environment, no consistency in what's being called, five games it has been shown lots of latitude given in how top players are treated, not sure how much grief we've given Kyrou, Thomas to challenge this apparent inconsistency etc. Knowing it won't happen, but it would be real interesting if Lowry took out Kyrou exactly the way Schenn took out Scheif and what the Refs would call, 2 minutes interference right? There's always guys with experience you can sign in an emergency. Not hard to figure out how to turn and give the ball to Brady.

I love the idea and we usually get some thing similar but a bit more fluffy from Tait here. If the league put it self out there more and gave fans all the stuff they don’t want to share, they would create a huge vacuum for the target demographic. I know no team would want to be that open, but if they want to break the norm it will take great discomfort. I’m not talking about teams bad mouthing players they don’t like, but being open about what they do like about who they like. Competitively, it comes to pass fairly quickly after the draft that each team knows who the other teams liked. And it doesn’t really matter at that point any way.

Mike Hogan's annual Inside The War Room piece is up. He spends draft day with the Argos player department and does a revealing writeup every year. Certain rules apply, ie: he isn't allowed to talk specifically about trades that don't get over the line or players who they don't draft but wanted. It was of particular interest to us this season since Vince Magri moved on to the Bills, we didn't know if it was all Murphy and Dinwiddie or what... Both of those guys are near useless and were barely camp arms. This year is indeed the Strev and Collaros Show, and while the 3rd spot MIGHT be open, Wilson certainly has a leg up if for no other reason than he's been here awhile, has played some, and be pretty much plug n play this year (with the caveat that it's a new OC with a slightly different playbook)

and was behind Harris before that....was a solid guy in the end....and didnt hurt you when he needed to step in....how that would projected as the bell cow...who knows....but guy was nowhere near being a bust by any stretch....he was a complimentary piece on a team outside the starting 12 on offence like 2/3rds of every other teams roster

I agree - Buck really, really miss-used Strev - and he deserves a chance in camp to secure a spot.

You can't gain anything from that observation based on what we gave him to work with...scheme...and not running anything in practice in that BB... Lots of games last yr as well ZC accomplished nothing other than giving ball away...and that was an offence tailored to him...and taking all the reps Drew brown looked like hot garbage a lot in the beginning but was allowed to grow as an actual QB..Strev was never afforded that here...ever Cherry picking one game when have no clue whatsoever of what all the circumstances involved were proves nothing..and was pretty obvious all yr..last 2 really that we couldn't make any adjustments on the fly or in game for the most part it our life depended on it...or how to best use our personelle He was only a SY specialist here in his late part of first tenure and the idiotic role we had him play last yr...if Brown was all that and a sac of plums he'd have been on a 4 yr nfl journey ...was he? Strev was failed by Bomber coaching...plain and simple...almost ruined Getting looks...or no looks in NFL at times is an odd experience.. some is political..some is black listed...some is just pass the visual "appeaeance" Lenius..KSB and that wr from last yr wave and say hi If a QB gets significant preseason play..gets on roster and in actual games...and bounces around for 4 yrs...there is a reason for it...especially a CFL detector as sadly they are victims of politics and bias' moreso than any other positional player who was in Canada first...

That's exactly it... if faj can be a starter there is 0 reason streveler can't. He was a much better prospect coming in as a passer than faj, has a better arm and a better attitude and showed insanely more as a rookie than faj did.

I believe in him as well. But the offense he needs to be successful and the one that fits Collaros style are extremely different Streveler is more RPO, less vertical/drop back style and I think he can be very useful if he stays healthy. But that's the rub. No one is going to bank on him playing 14 or 15 games in a season. I hope we make use of his skills generally even if he's not the starter, and that we don't have him running wedge plays. Build that run/RPO package for short-yardage around his skills.

I'm rooting for Streveler, he has a mental and physical toughness unlike many. IF he is used as s real QB and not a gimmick I honestly do believe he can be a true starting caliber QB in the CFL. I could be wrong but, with his attributes, experiences, and the stage of his life he is in combined with how hard he has rehabbed, I would be very surprised if he gets beat out for number 2.........but if he does then I will be very happy as the guy who beats him would IMO be a real stud QB!

Not a chance this regime goes into the season without a veteran backup who is a clear leader on the team. Streveler will be qb#2 with the slight chance Wilson beats him out. But that's unlikely given the guy who is currently HC. If i had to bet, I'd say Dolegala and Patterson won't even see the first preseason game.

It's actually interesting to me he was still picked that high. Because now he's out of football for a year before he gets to come in to the CFL camp. He's not going to have any opportunity aside from training himself to develop as a football player. Have to kind of hope he keeps his head in.
