It’s been said 10,000 times and it probably won’t happen, but kola is the big problem. Every guard we’ve had has struggled next to him. Change him and what we see from the rest will improve drastically. Honestly, I’d be open to trying Dobson or Neuf at C, or going imp, or ofc Eli. The guards struggle covering and working with kola soo much. Everyone will improve with that change Wallace is gonna steal some ones job imo. If he takes half the step forward next year took this year he’s gonna be our best interior ol. We really need to bring in multiple legit imp tackles and more Canadian interior ol depth. We can’t keep hoping a former guard is gonna become the next big thing at T for us.

Zack Williams is the guy you tamper for. Local kid, still lives here. Easy top 5 Canadian OL in the league today, in his prime. There's your RG for the next 7-8 years.

For the sake of their fanbase the Elks can not afford to get this hire wrong, better they go with the safe choice in Campbell, than gambling on someone without HC experience, which includes most of their candidates.

Yeah he was a great find and again is a guy in that slimmer more athletic modern linemen mold that we excel with. To change topics a bit looking at other teams free agents here’s guys I’d love for us to go after. Mcinnis. If he hits cfl free agency, I’d offer him Brady money. Even if it means we’d lose lawler. Mauldin. Feel like he’d be the perfect complement to wj. Ceresna. Replace one Jake with another. Would be a terror along side our imps and Lawson. Give us a ton more ratio flexibility. Similarly betts would be a good pick up but I like ceresna much more. Mcmanis, and Pickett. Picking on the rbs and Argos here but both are modp type guys and among the best at their positions with tons of versatility. Some thing we lack on D now. Leake/grant. Prefer Leake for his offensive fit as a Swiss Army knife as well as a dangerous returning but either would be a big win. A vet back up qb with starting experience. Couture. Won’t happen, but I’d throw a bank at him if healthy. Ol has not been a shell of what it was since he left. We’ve treated Canadians and ol like they are replaceable but not done a good job of replacing them lately. haggerty (failing that, zema, or grace) replace shanky with a much better punter. Haggerty might be too old for an nfl look too. Shouldn’t be real expensive to upgrade p.

Killam has done nothing to show he should be a head coach imo.

Randolph is the intriguing one. For a guy who didn't have a lot of legit o-line work/experience coming into the yr he fared really well...especially while adapting to the Canadian game His has real good feet for the oline and obviously the athleticism seeing as he played primarily as a tight end....and from watching him this yr, and in practice he has had some real good coaching...or is really learningfrom Stan as he has awesome hand work....which will be huge on the outside He definitely has a good looking future and could be the LT after 2025.....Another season of grooming and learning is gonna be huge....and he if need be is already a top end guard

Time to remind people that Taman did a reasonably good job when Bomber GM, considering what he had to work with and a GM who really didn't like him.

Today I learned Brendan Taman was an assistant t GM in Ottawa. The extrabusiness in Subway restaraunts must be veritable boon for the local economy.

No player should be allowed to take all of training camp off. If anyone can't compete physically then they shouldn't be here anymore. We all talk about the culture that Osh has brought to the team such as FIFO. But he's also brought a culture of entitlement & even laziness when he has older veterans who want time off. Is it any wonder we started at 0-4?

Neufeld wasn't even close to being a reason that we lost the grey cup. The offensive line was fine that game

Neufeld is getting worse and worse in pass pro. Lots of chicken wings and shoulder checks. Doesn't get his hands on many people these days. Toronto ate him alive. Montreal ate us alive on the whole, we played 1 good quarter against them out of 8 this season. That's the kind of team you need to be able to handle to win the whole thing. If a guy like that is on the team next year we're not serious about winning. Dobson is terribly slow to get his feet moving in both run and pass. He's ok, and a bit more physically engaged, might be as good as anyone they can get in free agency. Should be pretty easy decision to focus on building out 3 Americans on the OL for next year short of Desjarlais being cut loose by Ottawa due to his salary or something.

Him and Wallace sandwiching any center not named Kolo....with Big STan and Randolph on the ends.....and the best outta Eli...Neuf...Dobson if here to round it out for 2025...I could live with that as we groom a young draftee for 2026 and beyond

Yup. how would you build a coaching staff this off season? Top down for me, I’d try to get ac to be hc and oc, then Jy to be dc and ast hc. Ted as gm, Costello as ast oc. Maxie and Greg quick on D. Travis Moore and idk if he’d actually leave western but Greg Marshall on offense as well. People will hate it but I’d get reinebold to coach teams. After that 1 analytics guy, and room left over for extra scouts.

for a scuffling team trying to reset their foundation...and get back to respecrability the important hires are the assistants and the coordinators....any HC who has lousy ones...will fail The HC they hire has to basically be respected, not an a-hole and have ability to lead and inspire...and most importantly...not a dumb idiot......check those boxes and if he can get quality assistants to follow him....he will be ok...as will the team Who were our co-ordinators and assistants in Osh's first 3..4 yrs?....bottom of the barrel rekindled crap....it was only in yr 4 when things were solidified...and stayed that way for years....we suddenly took off....

CFL the one professional league where you can continue to fail upwards! A ST coordinator fired for poor performance and gets consideration for several head coaching opportunities. Make it make sense!

I don’t get maksymic. He’s run offences that struggle to protect the ball, run the ball, and get the most out of his QBs. They basically chuck the most and score some of the fewest tds and struggle in the red zone play the big games. Also, doesn’t make sense to consider him for hc along side buck. You aren’t gonna keep him and bring in buck. Benevides has slowly been back sliding in his career for the past 11 years. From hc, to ast hc dc, to dc, to teams co and spent a year out of football at least. qft. this is an ugly list of hc candidates for a team that wants to compete right away. Atleast buck has modern rings, and has run offences that have lead the league with the pass and the run. He should have a big advantage on this Job. A veritable who’s who, of people I wouldn’t hire or interview for that job lol.

What about Kendall Randolph at RT. When he replaced Neufeld at RG our line seemed to instantly become more effective as a whole. Then when Bryant was out he did not look out of place at LT once he got his feet wet. Seems pretty versatile and if Bryant comes back this might be a good fit.

He was a one man operation with no budget... He far exceeded expectations.

Eli is our best center option....but like @wbbfan said they seem to really like him at that 6th/jumbo/guard fill in guy who is versatile for us....and he has excelled there and is been a big part of our run success so no fault in that ...But we have just stood pat and status quo with Kolo....Why I dont know....maybe Osh liked the fact he was a 2 yr scrap heap reclamation that nobody wanted and liked his hard work ethic when he got here knowing it was his last shot...who knows but he is the weak link on the line and has affected a lot of the guards play....he's just not good enough...adequate for spot duty.....but we need better I hope we draft center specific at oline this yr.....or trade/FA pick up one....Ratio wise we can easily use an import at guard if we want and there are so many brute brawlers down south who can step right in and be a force it be an easy solution...and very SMS friendly too

Ideally you want your most mobile ol to be the C. A lot of what I see with him is hesitation. He isn’t actually plodding, he just isn’t sure enough to commit early and hard to his assignment. He looked real good in his 2nd game at C in ps. If he could get to a legit playing weight of 295-305 it would probably be a good fit. Neuf is taller than I like Cs generally to be. And he isn’t the most mobile. But his decisiveness and instincts plus patience would be big. And if he’s gonna play another year, he might have an easier time holding up at C than G. Not nearly as many guys lining up on the nose, especially with him there. It up and down is a lot though. Really depends on what bothers him physically. Wallace is too damn big in every direction. A sleeper pick is drafting a rookie. We have a tremendous knack for finding undersized Cs who are able to contribute very quickly. And at developing that type of ol. We haven’t really had much success developing ol who are over sized. Which is no surprise given the heavy zone scheme we run. Smaller more athletic ol with nasty attitudes we’ve churned into all stars with ease.

Imagine if Lapo becomes our OC and we sign Tre Ford.... I could only imagine how many flea flicker double reverse hail mary plays we would run!

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but would anyone be interested in Jarious Jackson as OC? He made a small chicken salad out of a lot of chicken **** this year. I’d like to see what he could do with our offence.

Randolph is a good project, he was damn good at G. More legit of a T prospect. It didn’t work out well swapping Lofton and Randolph it seemed like they’d be better playing LT and rt than switching both guys spot. Randolph should be a prime candidate for a T spot even LT when Bryant retires, especially if he takes the year two step forward. But we need a guy to raise the level of competition in camp at that RT spot. When you have a bunch of prospects you tend to get the least bad of the group. When you have a good player you tend to get the best every one has to offer.

Change always concerns me on the OL. So much of their success is dependent on cohesiveness. Whenever you start mixing in new parts, and then it takes awhile for them to get to know each other, it can be a **** show for awhile. But there's no question out OL has been deteriorating for a few years now and needs to be rebuilt to the old standard.

For sure. I think if he takes the offseason to really work hard on his foot work he could improve.

I personally believe Dobson is our weakest link, but that is in no way an endorsement of Kola. We can do better at both positions.

I believe a big part of it is they highly prized his role as the 6th ol and back up centre, strange as it sounds they are crazy about our back up being a C, which is why we double switched twice at guard in games we suffered injuries and ran with rookies. Eli isn’t a great guard either, but you can go back to previous ols and they put great importance on having 7 and the 6th guy who comes in for package work is a big deal for them. Eli would be plan A for me. Then sliding over Dobson, then neuf, but then also depending on what we find in the draft we’ve found good ones all over. Also worth considering is bringing back Cody speller. Who I think is only 30. He got derailed by injuries after he left here and went to the Argos but he was a gooder.

My thoughts exactly - this was mostly the reason I wasn't expecting the Bombers to win the GC.

Was going to ask you gents about your thoughts on Dobson at C. I know they've tried him there in preseason a bit... honestly I'd give serious consideration to 3 Americans on the OL.

For me they all have major knocks. Mbt has the same level of performance team to team and it never seems to impact the out come. Cf loses you as many as he wins. Masoli is the best of the bunch but miles away from what he used to be. Schlitz has the best upside with a chance to achieve it but he’s be 32 before the end of the year. I can understand how people don’t value Strev as much as a starter, but he can contribute the most as a qb2 by a lot, and I know he can achieve a high level of play with a decent offence to run. Value wise I don’t see any separation. Mbt isn’t gonna get a starting job going into the season. No one is gonna give him starting money. As we saw in bc even if you spend all the money, you just can’t balance a team with a 250-300k back up qb. I don’t think any of these guys gets 200k. None of them are signing for under 125k either.

Definitely bring Neuf back....cant have too much experience and leadership on the oline....and he played well...was a walking wounded all yr, but when was healthy played well...better than well Dobson is a bit of mystery....got better as the yr went on and definitely still worth the time put into him....but dos still needs some work...I can see Wallace stealing his spot next yr actually. I would think 2025 will be the Big Stan final yr...so imperative we either sign his heir apparent this yr and put in Lofton's spot for now....tho Lofton as yr went on was very serviceable....and truly if ratio allows would like to find a RT to allow him...Wallace...Neuf and Randolph to battle it out for the 2 guards spots....and if an import takes a spot...work that ratio then....don't be tied to carved in stone ratio positions as it effects the roster elsewhere with not getting your best talent on the field....play your best wherever they fit. And we still have Eli and Kolo....whom I hope we move on from. Regardless of what we do in free-agency and draft....if that group is brought back we have a good starting point. We definitely tho need to construct our roster with real players outside the 24 starters....guys who can actually step in and play if need be....even tho Osh says they all number 1's anyone with half a brain knows thats utter BS...Our roster past the top 30...35 guys or so is a collection of pluggers and slugs....and shouldn't be...Change your draft philosophy toward picking best guys...and ones who project to possible starter, or at worst rotational rep guys....not just this ST only mentality we seemed to have favored.....But I guess when your GM and HC only have/had ST back grounds as coaches....maybe they don't have a keen eye for talent past that.....allow your assistants and Co-ordinators to coach em into real players

he played well since he came back from injury. Our ol struggled in the gc with some run blocking assignments, but it was an over all problem with the spread of the dl and the way they played gaps. If we doubled and skipped to the second level properly on 2-3 plays Brady probably has another 50 yards maybe one more big bust. Crazy as that is. The Argos fought off our run game by the skin of their teeth. before injury paddy was as bad as he’s ever been. Which one shows up next year? No clue. But the chances of the best version showing up and playing a whole season plus off season is slim and none. It’s a gamble with him. Definitely needs to be an open competition in camp.

Bogo was not a good influence on young trouba. That’s a fact but the reason for his trade was 100 percent wife/ gf at the time related. But the reality with the powder is they all do it, ok not all but young guys with millions do.
