  • Also, Winston Rose was tied for the lead in interceptions last year with 5, and this year, he was all alone with 9 interceptions, 2 ahead of the much more ballyhooed Tre Roberson... Great job Win

  • I wouldn't trade Neufeld at all..that be the stupidest thing to do for several reasons..one he's one of the better guards in league...secondly he and Bryant are a well oiled unit..thirdly if we did an

Rashaun Simonise, released by the #Bombers yesterday, was set to make in the neighbourhood of $75k in salary this season, plus potential performance bonuses.

The Canadian receiver was drafted 12th-overall in 2018.

75 k certainly doesn't break the bank. I feel like we are not one of the top teams worried about the cap

Now we know the real reason Simonise was released...

Chris Mathews #13

Coombs - Simonise tradeoff is not bad after all (I think). Experience vs potentail I suppose.

And with the depth we have in NAT Rec and RB, Coombs may not need to play every snap so that might help him to be healthy for the whole season.

Shamawd Chambers, Devon Bailey, Rashaun Simonese, Kito Poblah, these guys remind me of that singing frog.  GM's can't believe their good fortune when they stumble upon Natl. receivers with such outstanding measurables and athletic talent.....but eventually after they under-perform they decide to put them back in the box and skulk away.

Coombs would be an immediate upgrade over Simonise and wouldn't necessarily have to stay healthy. So I guess he's got that going for him

Can't go wrong with Coombs as depth

Never been impressed with Coombs. But looking at his mediocre career stats - he's a better bet than Demski.

I hope we di another imp db. That plus one kr, medlock, and a dl.

Rod Black's gonna love that...

It is unfortunate how true this statement is.

Re: Coombs

To the shock of many, the Argos tried to move Anthony Coombs to wideout.

Under the team’s previous regime led by GM Jim Barker, the Argos viewed Coombs, a Canadian, as an Andre Durie type who can line up in the backfield or move to the slot position.

Coombs is a lot of things, but he’s not a wideout.

Sadly, he’s been plagued by injury, but in the right system Coombs is a valuable piece.

Injury, my underlining concern...

Demski and coombs are similar and wolitarsky and peterman are similar, so that is a good situation for back ups should the bombers bring coombs in.

So which other Manitoba runningbacks/receivers does Walters need to complete his collection?

Isn't Alex Taylor in Edmonton from Winnipeg?

We should trade for him.

Pass on LaFrance.

Coombs seems like a good fit for our offence. Wouldn't mind seeing a rotation with Demski to give him a break once in a while to keep both guys healthy.

I honestly think Coombs is a slightly better version of Demski... you just never know how many games you'll actually get from Coombs... history suggests not very many...

The more Winnipeggers the better.

Wasn't Demski an actual receiver in CIS?

Hard to expect Coombs to just slide into the role at the pro level.

Coombs is a hybrid RB/SB.....right up Lapo's alley....
