Will Walters go all out at MLB?

Its no secret what the weakest position on the team is ... how far is Kyle Walters willing to go to acquire a top notch middle linebacker? What strategies might he use to get the job done?

  • That’s crazy ... good for Leggett ... hope we see his name on an extension ASAP.   he needs to be a Bomber for life ... and the fact that he’s at my old middle school doing charity stuff in

I think he'll make an offer of money and possibly other perks to be paid over a specified period of time to a player that he wants.

  • Well, he ought to be recovered by now.

Are you spying on Walters? This seems like you're in the room with him.

Sign Konar at WIL and move JSK to MLB, preserving the ratio flexibility without Hurl.

This would be a great move.

Not a bad strategy. The only issue I see is we have Ian Wild coming back to play the Will position.  We need to give ourselves option at several positions to star more canadians. I’d love to see his sign Nick Demski and give him reps at his natural runningback position as well as slot.  Make him an option to spell Harris at times.

We definitely need an alternate for Wild for when/if he gets injured. Assuming that Leggett is re-signed and JSK is filling one of our LB slots, Wild needs to be rotational or have a strong candidate behind him.

I would rather sign Larry Dean as our MLB. Keep JSK at WIL. Wild as DI.

Add Demski and/or NAT DL to negotiate the ratio

During the CJOB special, Tait figured they might go with JSK at MACK and Wild at WIL this year, but I still think Walters might be a player for one of the FAs like Larry Dean or maybe even Bear Woods...? Also think Demski is on the radar...

Demski not an FA... nevermind, he is.. thanks google!

I stand corrected!

Konar would be a no-brainer...  can't see him hitting free agency though, fingers crossed

I'd make an offer to Jeff Knox Jr - or gamble on Deron Mayo - value signings

Otherwise, I'm fine with JSK at MLB and some new blood or Wild in a pinch

For ratio - I'd target Konar, Demski, Gascon-Nadon, Menard...

Konar to BC would be my guess.   Edmonton released a few guys yesterday which has to do with last years injuries and stuff, so a few guys that they would like to keep are eventually going to hit FA

That would be two vet starters one year off of achilles injuries... and likely Wild at WIL - risky move

I thought he was a safety, but Walters is definitely the kind of guy who would go all-out at whatever position he lines up at.  I think he's still younger than Lui Pasaglia, so why not give it a go?

I'd rather see MOS strap 'em on again.......*YOU* tell him he can't line up at MACK this year....

You are Nichols best friend? Or are you saying that Nichols best friend is signing with the Bombers? Either way, good for Matt Nichols!!

Also should get Coombs and LaFrance and have an four man all-Manitoba backfield.

Not realistic or practical?  Who cares!  It would still be awesome.  You know how most amps go to 10?  Ours go to 11!  Turn the amps up to 11 Walters!

Yeah.. I've been holding out for getting one of these Winnipeg products in our lineup. LeFrance ended up being way overpaid which is good for him. Perhaps he will end up here one day but I think he's more of a backup/change of pace guy.   I'm not really sure why Demski was't utilized more last season in Saskatchewan. He got off to a good start and then it seemed like they just never featured him again. I think in Winnipeg he would have a breakout season.

#BisonsHomeComing :D

Nic Demski, Eddie Steele, Don Oramasionwu and Evan Gill.

Demski would be a nice add and a great fit for our offense as he could line up as a receiver and a running back, Plus he can be used as a returner. (Bye Bye Lankford).

I'd take Konar as a WIL or somebody like Dean or Woods as a MLB. Less interested in Sherrit due to the fact he's coming off and injury like Wild and Mo.

Don't ever mention Mike O'Shea and "strap on" in the same sentence ever again. Ever.
