Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

 I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.  

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up. 

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence). 

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Reported salary was 90k in 2017, down from 120 in 2015 &16.  80k in 2018 is a sensible number for him.

Santa Claus probably has a base that is around the minimum. but if his agent had any sense he would have negotiated some bonuses for games started.  Rookies unfortunately are stuck negotiating from a position of weakness and GMs can say take it or leave it.

I find it hard to believe bombers would have been content with just signing demski and lafrance. 

Fenner was obviously targeted with or without Westerman

They signed 3 guys. Spent like under 400 k yesterday.

even though it was early...Bowman was technically a free agent day signing too...filled a need we would have been looking for and as it turned out would have been most likely Criner...and god forbid Marquay McDaniel...

Agents are most likely getting back to teams with offers...counter offers..etc...it is only day 2 after all

Last year they signed LeFevour in FA, this year they were able to get Durant a month before FA.  Same process, just a different day on the calendar.

 

I have to say, this offseason has been far more interesting than usual.  For the Bombers and for the league.

They also signed Baines today another Ntl Rec. So they've landed some bigger names and now working on depth. And really when you look at the roster that's all that's needed. I mean a legit MLB would be nice, but besides that, depth is needed.

I can't fault him- he gets to close out his career playing beside his brother, that is worth a lot.  Good luck to him and wish him the best (except against us), I will miss him.

Wondering why we wouldn't start Lafrance as a RB/SB hybrid like Flanders?

Do you know what depth means? You can't have a team of all-stars at every position. And some of the depth signings are going to be less than ideal. That's just the way it works (in the CFL anyway).

Demski, Lafrance, Coates, Wolitarsky, Thera-Plamondon, Henry is depth...  Baines is like a Jordan Reaves project.
