  1. I hate that we are at the mercy of a rigidly stubborn head coach who has repeatedly chosen to stroke his ego rather than make the best choices for the team. Frustrating.

  2. We need to ride BO hard right from the get go....and integrate some BO jr too in multi back sets. That way we can control the line from the start and then if ZC...The cerebral smart ZC shows up and plays within himself...the shots will be there. If OC clown tries to come up with some fancy scheme....and ignores our bread and butter and our game dictating work horse in BO he best be left in MTL when the game is over With all the warts and all with the defensive rostering this unit can control a game, and in play-off football this defence can I think go on a rip, and unlike OC clown (he has dropped from just OC Guy to clown now BTW) I have faith in Younger and Hall if provided the right personnel, and you cant look past that in all reality Alexander is basically still a rookie starter...and playoffs are a different beast...we seen firt hand all the fancy stats and wins in the reg. season account for zippo when rubber meets the road in playoffs.... And a younger hungrier bunch...well we seen how that translates to an aggressive overall unit....and maybe that will spurn Vaughters and WJ to rachet it up a notch....and generally WJ usually shows up in big games so not too concerned there truth be told if they actually turn him loose Vaughters and WJ are gonna be on roster...just how Osh rolls and they should be really...We gotta get Jenkins on as he handled that MY; line easily....with Vaval back on roster fo Logan we can easily dump the extra DB in Lawson Jr and use him in that spot...and the smart/right move would be to have Bailey on for one of Corcorran...Ball and yes Thomas...1 assume Kramdi would replace Vibert....tho the use of Woodbey there...and Smith who were moved all around were more than good....Be nice to get one of Persons and Jaworski on too, but that would be at the expense of Ayers/Wilson and cant see that happening....But a heavy rotation of WJ/Vaughters/Jenkins/Bailey with Lawson and Woods taking DT reps would give us our best front...especially with how effective Woodbey and actually Smith were as outside edge rush/contain guys...4 man fronts with all 4 those ends would give tha Al's fits Given what we saw yesterday with the potential....and if Demski is back and the offence can control the t.o.p and actually put up some 7's I feel pttty confident to be honest and can't discount that Vval may bring one back If we flop...saying it now it's gonna be due to coaching blunders and a piss poor roster on game day...fingers crossed that Osh actually saw something yesterday

  4. If Jenkins isn't dressed you can sign me up to the fire MOS crowd. Guy had a whale of a game this week and just looks explosive off the line. Really could be an X factor just in time for the playoffs.

  6. I agree that Jenkins for Person is an easy swap. Bailey for one of our depth Canadians would also be a good choice.

  11. Look at who their HC is and that says it all.

  12. yup...fresh legs too at the right time....He offers us a nice combo of what we been lacking...Same can be aid for Bailey as well...he showed a lot...and offers valuable defensive reps to keep the old farts fresher...and can play teams...and...he's fresh too I also am worried he plays a not ready Demski as well...cause I not sure he gonna be totally healthy and with a hammy...one lil tweak again and he's done....with how Smith played on defence...Lawson...Kramdi likely back..we can delegate 2 Canadians for atria on defence and technically not have to have 2 Canadian receivers.....we seen how this dance has gone before playing not healthy recievers in playoffs and it screwed us royally Run out a Wheatfall...Echols...Pokey..Clercius...Stearns unit ...heavy use of BO and sprinkle in some dual backfield sets with Peterson...even MCI and trust in them to get to the EF with a "healthier" Demski

  14. I thought Edmonton was getting the next one... They were passed over in favour of Calgary next year. I'm wondering if there's issues there after the owner died. Must be an absolute mess out east if nobody is getting one/bidding on one...
    3 points
  15. Its been the same issues since they hosted in 2003. Need to stay away from Regina. Plus they had it in 22, why go there only 5 years later?

  16. Yes, our past history with injured guys in the playoffs is questionable....... I also forgot to add the best part of the game is ....NO MORE AIR HORNS.... that was the best single change the league did all year.....
    3 points
  17. Mass has developed into a good coach...and he has tuned his temper down many levels....but he is till a very whiney coach...he is always in a refs ear it seems....So as Noeller points out the team emulates that.....but at least...... NO AIR HORNS....all game.........

  18. yeah....infrastructure wise they are lacking on several levels....and doesnt make for a great experience....plus it's Regina...the best thing to ever come out of that place was KickAxe

  19. I agree...as much as I like Person and believe he gonna be good....Jenkins is more CFL ready...that being said him...Jenkins and Jaworski will all be solid guys for tc next yr and all could be on the roster in my opinion He showed polished technique and ability already....the one where he faked a bullrush and with speed and agility cur underneath the tackle and came fee for a shot on the QB...you dont see that oftem....especially out of a rookie...he's got some serious chops Bailey as well...he showed power moves...was wicked fast off the edge...and he got clean shots on Q.B onmore than one occasion....and as we saw....is more than capable on ST's....we need some speed/power guys....and that in itself may get our Gray beards on end to play with more spunk

  20. If he were some kid fresh out of the NCAA, maybe one would have to wonder if maybe he just had one of those games where everything went right and that he might not be able to sustain. However, he isn't. This is a kid with NFL pedigree, that showed an amazing ability to quickly adapt to the yard off the ball. He is legit talent and showed it. That is why I think it's a no-brainer he at least gets the nod over Person. He had probably the 2nd best performance of any DE we've had this season. we've had other rookies the past couple years show some ability at DE but were also non factors for much of and many of the games. This kid not only got home with sacks, but noticeably disrupted on most of his reps. Legit.

  21. ugh....I was hoping after the last cup held there, they would hold off for a while. The place can not host a major event. Like not the stadium....the city. Not enough facilities and no one actually wants to go there.

  23. Dumping Thomas for Bailey would make us a better team if Osh doesnt want to drop one of Ball or Corcorran who do nothing for us really ...Cobb has way more value than Corcorran and we have big bodies in MCI and Clercius to use in a blocker role that they put Corcorran out there for...and is not good at...so him on roster is a waste...Dress Vibert again...hate to have 2 lineman go down in a playoff game and then have to have JT sucking on the oline too
    3 points
  24. I think our only hope might be that he's displaced Person... but I imagine we'll still see a large helping of Willie and Vaughnters... and don't forget Thomas on 90% of snaps...

  25. If I was building a defense I'd start with an aggressive front four. Everything else just falls into place. Oh gawd, not Ford. We don't need a glorified running back as a qb. Ford's brutal. Killam gave him a fair shot. The experiment lasted 6 games & now both the Elks HC & GM Ed Hervey can't wait to get rid of him.

  28. No clue?...Generally they don't until the teams involved are decided and tickets will be expressly held for that very purpose. 14 straight sell-outs here are a pretty good ondicator it will be if not already is with "available" tickets for the public Call the Club if you are curious

  31. Moose Jaw if you book now. Nearly every hotel room at any reputable hotel is booked before tickets even go on sale. There are some seedy hotels after but unless you like head lice, bed bugs, and tuberculosis you should just book out of town and prepare to walk because transit is completely non existent. Regina is a complete fiasco from a travelling fan's perspective and the CFL doesn't know any better because they have blocked off rooms for their needs and those of the broadcast/media well in advance and that pretty much covers Regina's rooms capacity. My only Grey Cup there I thought I had lucked out through a bus tour out of Winnipeg that came with a room. Little did I know I was expected to share the room with two other strangers. Just awful.

  32. It would be interesting to hear from the group of CFL referees how they would rank each Head Coach in terms of biggest whiner to least whiner? My sample is real small in terms of actual observation but I would definitely place DD near the top.
    2 points
  33. Don't have to be concerned with cap room as SMS stops at the end of the regular season. Normally the only guys left on the practice roster are players that the Bombers are willing to let walk. Otherwise they will be 1 gamed.
    2 points
  34. Yeah...I not really concerned with the defense...they showed all yr they can be really good...and as we seen with proper use of guys...more than really good Offense tho...ooooeee...Oc guy is our weakness there...hopefully Osh has the sense to lean on Jackson a bit more and maybe have more say in the gameplan...and if he hurts lil oc guy feelings oh well... Gotta keep ZC clean and minimize risk of him getting smacked around...so if its a quick hitter game..lotsa run type plays like we saw vs Hamilton...that go a long way in how successful we are..I'm quite concerned with Demski tho..and if he not legit 100 percent he shouldn't be playing with a hammy issue...past history makes me cringe we dress a gimp...and then just handcuff ourselves

  35. I too would like to see Jenkins for Person, and Baily for a depth Canuck.....I really like Allen and Holm, Housten, Nichols, Parker with Lawson backing up, I do like our LB core, Griffen and Woodsby both have impressed me, and although one could argue the two Canucks should have had more reps, they do seem to form solid depth, If a rested Willy can find his form, with Jake, Lawson, Woods rotating in between him and Vaughters with Baily and Jenkins actually rotating I believe the D-line will be decent. Overall. I am not concerned about the defence, especially if we have at least a bit of rotation along the D-line......I like our specials, I think we have an advantage on that 3rd over Mtrl. It's all the offence that scares me......save two games they have been utterly terrible this year....and I mean terrible, look at the ints. this year.... we won a game with what 9 passes...and are going into teh playoffs with two completely putrid offensive games back to back.... any one of the three qbs we have played at times have a D player in their face almost instantly...and can't find open receivers...it can't be all three...it has to be routes and schemes...., heck week 18 we saw a guy come clean through the A gap......untouched.....our deep ball is virtually nonexistent...at least to our own team that is.... we forget to manage the clock and seem to have little to no comprehension of situational awareness, we appear to gamble when we should play safe and play safe when we should gamble, save for one game we have not seemed to build on plays throughout the game to get into a rhythm....I don't have the yardage stats, but we must have the worst flats passing attack in the league...false starts, offsides, no ends like it were preseason most of the year...I could go on but I don't want to be too depressing..... IF our offence even plays a decent game, like 200 yards passing, no turnovers avoids avoidable penalties and uses our run game, we will win with the defence and special teams we have...we can and I dare say "should" with our experience win this game...but the offence at least needs to show up and protect the ball.......This year though that is a tough ask

  41. well firstly on the QB and where the RB is...or motion he showing....you dont know where ball is...or likely to go...bull rushing straight ahead with does you no real good, especially if the lineman just engages you and lets you do it knowing that it will be ineffective A lot of Jakes problems is he has zero technical skill....hand fighting skills....and cant get off a block to make a play...just last game alone look how many times Woods was engaged and fought off the block to make the play...get in on making it with others, or just disrupting it...Lawson too...Lawson camm bull rush then toss away his lineman and make a play...Jake cant....for yrs now if ever

  42. Very much agree with this....the interception was exactly as you describe it, an inexperienced qb trying to cosey the ball into a spot. Yes Hogan should be fired. And who the he&* dreamed up those 2 useless shovel passes?? Brutal

  43. Wilson is not a toolsy QB at all. Out of 20 passes, 1 was great. That's ******* horrific for any QB at this level. He can't pass on the move and the only reasonable skill he has is running off a rollout/boot. Low velocity passes, poor accuracy, poor decisions. Can't put the ball on a guy. Any pass over about 5 yards is a lob or in the dirt. Guy has zero confidence is his own arm. There's not anything to develop there on a guy who is 28 by next training camp.

  44. I’d be good with that. Best case if we promote jackson to oc, is we bring in a support coach. Either some one who has been an oc a lot and can support jackson with the minutia. Or maybe younger/cfl rookie type with experience in more diverse us systems who can be developed here but also give hands on insight to specific systems we want jackson to grow into. Like some one with more spread to run zone running schemes outside of tite/izr who can diversify our run game. Or some one with more experience in spread RPO to help our guys execute reads and work options much more effectively. Like calgary did last year.

  45. I’m not sure we have the staff to develop a qb any more :s Actually, I’d wager we have one of the worst offensive staffs for that. Costello is the only must keep. I’d like to keep jackson as well. But if we go in a different direction i wouldn’t be heart broken. (I’d love masoli as a qb coach). Hogan and billy jean can kick their can down the road. And bolduc I’m pretty meh on. Wouldn’t want to keep him and jackson we need heavy change. Imagine how good our secondary would look with that kind of pressure from 3-4 guys regularly? The D would be scary
    2 points
  46. yup...scheme never changed yesterday...but got sacks...a lot of hurries....QB getting pounded so was far from comfortable...all effect the trajectory of the game....and how many times are drives snuffed out with a huge loss on a sack or the pressure causing errors?...more than you can count....I dont care how good your db's are...and how many you drop back..If the QB has all day and not a care in the world....they will eat your lunch...and sure they may not score a ton....but eat up the clock and keep your offence off the field and unable to score...and has been a big factor in many a game for us

  47. Bombers run game and defence were impressive yesterday. What wasn’t impressive was the wind up in the west side upper deck, 16C my ass!
    2 points
  48. Thing is, our D has been the best in the league at giving up the fewest points, and we’ve actually been able to score a bunch out side of the offence. I’ve never seen a 10 win team that gave up soo many turnovers and scoring turn overs. If we win the turn over battle, and the offence runs clock, we really can win. 1 point in week 10, 4 in 13, 5 in 19, and a single score loss in week 14. Week 5 we gave the ball away 4 times Then week 7 in the home away series we gave up 6 turnovers. Including 3 pick 6s, which is half of the 42 combined points we lost those two games by. plus two red zone picks. Then week see what happens in a game like hamilton when the offence is run semi competently, and montreal/wjs great game and we see what happens when we don’t handicap our front. If we got rid of our two worst players for internal backups by properly using the roster rules, had gone with lapo or jackson and not hogan, and gotten just average cfl starting qb play we don’t win all 6 of those toss up/thrown away game. But we easily win half of the 6, and finish first in the cfl/west.
