Shockingly low amount of CFL draft prospects who got NFL UDFA deals. I think only 2 of the DL along with the guys who were drafted. Lots of rookie mini-camp invites but those don't often lead to main camp spots. For a lot of those guys the best path to a real NFL shot will be playing in the CFL. Good news for the CFL. And for the draft, it's pretty wide-open. There's only a handful of guys that are unlikely to be available for CFL camps.

CFL Draft tomorrow … really curious if we find a way to take Findlay (probably at 6) or Beauchemin in the first couple rounds. Makes sense for us. Would like to walk away with one of those two and a couple trench bodies after two rounds.

I could see us targeting Winnipeg’s Gavin Coates. He’s an excellent inside prospect with size to play G but a natural C. Nasty and explosive, not as rangy but still good to get to the second level. This draft has a few guys who could stick at RT too. Which is a tremendous value.

Gonna be an early exit for theses guys. Maybe they loves to play golf than playing for the Stanley.

coakes* sorry my auto correct hates his name. i think 3rd would be early for him. but if some one is really high in him and the linemen run goes deep and early he could go there. I also think he’s tremendous value in the 4th. 4th round is kind of the start of the draft getting wild teams don’t worry about reaching any more at that point. If we could get him in the 4th or 5th that would be excellent. He isn’t going to be ready for tc start, and he doesn’t have the athleticism the top and 2nd tier guys do. But I think he’s an extremely high floor guy. Normally he’d be a top 5 ol, and the pro ready pick (if 100%). But this draft is deep at ol with tons of big athletic guys and that hurts his placement.

Arniel basically said he liked the 1st. That was a good road period minus the late goal which he called a coverage problem. Liked the first 7 8 minutes of the 2nd then the wheels fell off and they imploded. Says it’s uncharacteristic the mistakes they making , he’s not wrong. Says 2 of our guys go in to the corner with 1 blue and the blue comes out with it leading to another goal. Says blues playing well but it’s the best of 3 now. If there’s tons of oline and they all grade out similarly, I wouldn’t be opposed to a more skilled position player like DB or LB especially if the depth there isn’t as deep as OL. I’d prefer they get away from Canadians on the DL and go all American there so I’d be not going DL. DB LB OL RB WR is where I’d be looking. No particular order. Maybe BPA Reason? That’s where we play most our Canadians. 7 Canadian starters right or is it 8. I’m never sure anymore. You don’t need Canadian DL to hit the ratio requirements.

Depends on when the linemen run begins. We have a ton of top end talent available at a bunch of positions. The linemen run should start 2-3 picks before us. Which should leave us in a great spot to get a guy we will be very happy with.
