  1. He's making a comeback, BigBlue! The legend has returned. But, I'm certain MOS wouldn't let Milt take any meaningful reps. I would hope he's just a positive influence for the rookies in camp.

  2. Thanks Bones! All the best going forward! I remember him coaching Jets 1.0. Almost full circle moment for him.

  5. Straight up dumb. Rourke didn’t even get a shot and they drafted a kid who’s probably going to get them all fired. The anti-CFL bias is so real in the states.

  6. Ford could very well take a starting corner spot. I’d like to see what Jake Kelly could do at FS as well.

  7. Yoshi got whupped by speed off the edge like a green hs kid too many times. I love the guy and he can still drop people in the run game but he can’t play T in pass pro or stay healthy. And that’s at best. he’d still make most of the dbs look lost in one in ones. But if any one is coming back let it be bob. Cole legit might steal a spot.

I will always appreciate Coach Bowness for all he accomplished here and the culture change that occurred under his leadership. I will not be please is Arniel is automatically anointed "The Next One", has he not been the one responsible for our abysmal PP and PK the last couple of years? I always loved the Jets 1.0 connection but he needs to win the job as the best candidate.

  10. If it's Toronto, they'll get a special exemption to go over the cap. And, we'll have the TSN crew crying on air about how it's justified and that the CFL wouldn't survive without Rourke.

  11. People will make the cap space for Rourke. But, he's not coming.

  12. This would be terrible. Reward them for being incompetent and lazy. They would be the Oilers of the CFL.

  14. Sometimes Buck gets a little too cute on those gimmick plays. He was brought up by Lapo after all.

  15. Mike O'Shea said that pound-for-pound Janarion Grant was undoubtedly the toughest player on the squad. Of course no one is irreplaceable. But guaranteed whoever is returning kicks this season will not be in Grant's class. I feel bad for him because the ankle/foot injury that cost him was a really dumb play call - a handoff that had him running a counter up the gut into heavy traffic.

  17. I think Cole will be an impact player this year. Could steal Wilson’s spot, or (preferably) Kramdi if they can make the ratio work.

  18. I agree with the takes the DL and LB are the two worrying spots going into 2024. I think we may have some issues early but at the end of the year, we'll be firing on all cylinders and capable of beating everybody.

  21. I'd rather have Schoen and Lawler than Schoen OR Lawler and Bailey. Talent level is much higher than it would be if we kept the slightly above average vets.

  22. Knowing Milt and his confidence levels, I'm sure he thinks with a bit of game conditioning he could play but he chooses not to. 🙂

  23. If memory serves both Buck and Danny Mac were chucking the ball around in camp last year.

  24. right. I knew his name was Morris. At least now I remember it was Morris. Still don't know why he hated Lyle Bauer so much, but that rivalry got pretty heated at one point, if memory serves. I remember Lyle putting out some news release from the Bombers talking about "The Bookworm", which I assumed was Nate?

  26. My bet would be BC or Toronto as well for a Rourke return. How much do you think he makes? My bet is at least $600,000 but I could see $700,000.

  27. "Cap" isn't applied at all until the end of the season. It's a salary management system, not a hard cap. The only major pro league in North America with a hard cap is the NHL. Meaning that the cap number is calculated daily within the season and if a team is over the league will automatically put on waivers the player(s) needed to make the team meet the cap number. For CFL they simply add up salary and bonuses paid Jan 1 to Dec 31 - exemptions for 6 game following the season. You could play way over the pace to exceed the limit and the penalty isn't applied until after the season and on the next draft. I don't think he's coming but almost anyone could make room. I'd bet heavily on Toronto or BC should he ever return. They'd trade or cut their current starter.

  28. I'm guessing this has something to do with a TSN segment. But I'm not sure I like him taking reps from guys...it's not a huge deal sure... but still

  29. Cap isn't applied till the teams first game active roster is submitted to the league. Like Jcon said, you'd cut guys to make him work. Be it regular season or otherwise. Teams also don't immediately spend the entire cap as well. Some reserve has to be left for PR expansions, nfl cut down guys etc. Our cap is likely the most flexible hard cap of any sports league in north America.

Not surprised. Lots going on in his personal life. Enjoy retirement, Bones. Bring on Arniel. Seems like it's taken forever for the timing right on this one.

  31. Rourke will go the pr 'forever route' down south until clubs get tired of picking him up...Some guys are stubborn to the point of stupidity as far as their career is concerned...The money is up here....especially with BC who were prepared to start talking with him in the half million dollar range....Matters not though as he has the american stars and stripes in his eyes....his choice

  33. Drummond was crazy good on the Flutie Argo teams. Other than that, basically an above average American back.

  34. They played together 2 years. In which time drummond put up 1632 rush yards to millingtons 1815. Both put up about 10k yards from scrimmage in their career. Anderson put up almost 10,000 yards just with rushing. Anderson out rushed drummond by 2200+ yards in the same amount of years. All 8 years over 1000 yards. Anderson had 3 years where he beat drummonds career high in rushing yards, and anderson only broke 1k twice Once, just barely as well. Anderson had another 3200 yards recieving. Combine durmmond and millington and you have a career better than anderson, either alone is pretty comparable but nothing even close to anderson.

  35. Probably Lapo himself. I think we had Gary Crowton and Jamie Baressi here during Bucks time.

  40. There are tons of HOF picks that ate longevity based. For me Drummond is a HOF guy when you consider some of the other names in there.

  41. There's an exhaustive list with credentials of the American receivers coming into camp in Tait's receiver preview. Where do you think Bailey came from? Receiver is hardly a concern here. Rush end is a spot I personally would have been more active on. The Bombers were a completely different and not good defense without Jeffcoat. Jefferson is declining and was not a factor (positively, negatively yeah) when Jeffcoat was down. Hardrick was bad last season. Don't believe he will be hard to replace. More concerned about Canadian spots on line personally. Some limitations and age issues there basically with all the guys we have.

  42. I am sorry if this all sounds Super Negatron ... it sounds like a complete under estimation of our scouting and of Kyle Walters SKILLS and WISDOM if anything these replacements needed to be made earlier .... changes need to be made constantly but not too much at once ... status quo thinking would be gross mismanagement ... we still have our core and an amazingly good culture ... do you have to have it proven to you?. We have perhaps the best management and coaching in he league we will see some early season transition pains but no problem Mr Chicken Little the sky is NOT FALLING

  43. Drummond played parts of 8 seasons and was a primary back for the Argos in 2 seasons, Lions in 1. Otherwise shared the backfield. Not a CFL HOFer.
