We were good because A: The front office went balls deep in FA over 2016-19. Harris, Prime (or close to it) Bighill and Jefferson, Rose, etc Also did a good job bringing in spare parts from other teams who had value (Nick Taylor, Darby, Maston) which we don’t really do anymore. B: We had guys from the Rigmaiden/Craig Smith pipeline coming through until 2021. (Lawler, Jeffcoat, Alford, Nichols to name a few.) Not sure if it lines up exactly with Rigmaiden leaving but the American scouting started to drop a dook after 2022 and never really recovered. We just kept letting good players walk and replacing them with nothing and nobody. The DT spot is a microcosm. Let Stove walk, replace with slightly worse Sayles. Let Sayles walk, replace with slightly worse Ricky Walker, let him go and so on. Drafting has generally sucked too. No real impact players over the last 4 seasons. Now we just draft maybe 1 OL, a slower WR or 2 and a bunch of Jessie Briggs reincarnations per year. Yeah...kinda sums up a lot...also tho the reluctance to unseat a vet...hasn't helped...and just gradually eroded us away to where we are...as we didnt draft/recruit or develop...and then play a incumbant/transition piece...ones we did we let walk..and for peanuts really...or ones that needed a bump in pay we refused as we figured we were good and could just use a slug we've held on to...or look like the smartest guy in room and reinvent a retread...and for most part our draft strategy of late has sucked Guys oozing with athleticism and potential we draft we just waste or stunt (Shay..Smith...MCI...Samson..Eli..Rene....even Clercius as if Woli never got hurt he would havnt got a chance) Stickem, Piggy 1 and JohnnyAbonny 3

I hear your pain, but it seems to me that where the team has devolved to is dire enough that there is little to no hope of hosting the Grey Cup. Instead, barring an act of God, the best the Bombers can do is make the playoffs, even if O'Shea and maybe even Walters are canned. There is no point in trying to assess new player talent if they never get a chance to prove themselves in games.

3rdand1.5 Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago There were so many vital mistakes, mistakes a team should not be making in it's 5th game. D-line coming clean through the A gap against us, Holm covering two receivers with no help, Bridges stopping and letting his guy blow by him, Forced balls from QB's, receivers falling down, selfish penalties, apparent lack of energy......... Even with all that our offence while bad almost had enough to take the lead in the second half.....I really like Strev but that pick was the end of the offence last night...all the wind came outta the sails right then....on offence we had our top OL out, our top receiver out, and lost our top QB early......at least one can make an excuse for them...the defence though....all healthy...and all terrible....I can't name one defensive player from last night worth praising.....not one.....at least on offence you can say Demski and Brady played damn good, on specials Castillo played damn good, our coverage was good, and Vaval and Case looked capable at returns....that's it, maybe the long snapper.....even the whole energy and aura looked bad last night.....it ruined what something like a 17 game win streak after the bye......yuck wbbfan 1

Blue In BC Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Why not move Clercius into a SB position. His output is not huge and he should be add some weight in blocking assignments. Then add Mitchell at WR since the comments are that he can only play WR. If that means taking out one of Sterns or Case, then so be it. OTOH I'm not sure if Vaval misses a game or two due to possible concussion issue. If that happens Case could remain on the roster until either Logan or Vaval is healthy. The reality is that we aren't getting huge output from Sterns, Case or even Clercius. Adding Mitchell might give us more ability to stretch the field and have more YAC. Slimy Sculpin and Booch 1 1

Personally from watching that, don't think Clercius has the quickness in tight spaces or route running yet to make some space for himself to be productive from the slot. Chris-Ike is that guy that can be the H-back type, block, leak out, run a flat route, wheel. Corcoran might be a guy who can play out of the slot a bit. I'd drop Vaval and have Mitchell/Case both on to play some receiver and return. I'm not a huge fan of the look with one returner back on kickoff. Teams are ******* with us when we do that. And Vaval isn't exactly taking charge. Put Mitchell and Case both back there. Use Case on punts. In general with teams playing a ton of zone, 3 high and quarters on us, daring us to throw underneath and try to get YAC, completely taking away vertical routes...need to use formation to open up space horizontally. Bunch formations, isolate guys 1x4, 1x2 with tight ends. Open up space so you can hit guys in space and give them a chance to make a play after the catch. That may be true about Clercius but as I pointed out we aren't getting much output in any case. So I'm suggesting we'd improve overall with Mitchell in at WR and him at SB. Now if we want to use Corcoron or Cobb in that role, I'd fine with that as well. In 3 of his 5 games he and 14 or less yards for the game. His best game was the 1st game against the Stamps. Bumping Vaval might happen anyway due to injury this week. So the suggestion of Case bumped to a returner role and back up receiver works for me too. Edited 4 hours ago by Blue In BC

WRs move around depending on scheme form etc. He fits the role he’s in perfect too. Catches every thing thrown his way, hard runner with the ball, very good blocker. Hes not a huge yac guy. The slot really benefits guys who don’t have a good get off move, and either are quick enough to pressure the cover at the snap, or a fast but not quick guy who needs to boost to hit high gear. Big Kev isn’t really any of those. The problem is we’ve got no no1 target, we’ve got a 2 a 3 and no 1 or 4. You cant afford to run out two scrub imp wrs in the cfl. Moving guys around won’t fix our issues, we need to dump sterns and case for legit CFL players. Tracker, rebusrankin, Stickem and 1 other 1 3

Yeah our issue is we don't have legit game breakers...Demski is kinda when he has 1..or 2 other guys with him...but alone he ain't gonna carry u to wins and if teams take him away...we hooped If we as a team are happy with mediocrity and hoping everything goes perfect and we get all the bounces...then yeah play Sterns and Case... Clercius plays a good complimentary role with possession and in run game...We have already seen Wheatfall can be neutralized with over under coverage so leaves just Demski...those 2 need help to excel...they don't have it Stickem, wbbfan and Tracker 2 1
