November 21, 20223 yr Too soon? Too many truly painful Grey Cup losses have taken the sting out of yesterday's loss already. Time to look forward while we cope with the recent disappointment. Who do we keep? Who do we let go? Who do we go after? Someone was going to start this thread at some point.

December 8, 20223 yr No shock... I'm glad it is now finalized... our sole focus now is 3 in four years (or 1-0 if you're coach)... Let's go Blue!
December 8, 20223 yr We all knew it was coming but making it official that MOS is back for three more years is excellent news.
December 8, 20223 yr ****... I am really ******* excited for 2023... All these solid signings. Reading about some of the players and coaches having that singular focus on getting better and gunning for another cup... using the sting of the 2022 GC loss as added motivation...

December 8, 20223 yr Bucky Buck officially staying on as OC as well. Wouldn't be surprised, in time if we see a transition plan with Osh and Buck similar to Huff and Dickenson.

Not sure if Buck is willing to wait 15 years for O'Shea to reach retirement age and want to move upstairs.

Not at all the point. The point is, 11 years is a long time to be in any role, which will be O'Shea's tenure at the end of his new contract. If we're fortunate enough to win another championship or two in that time, he'd be well deserving of a promotion upstairs.
December 8, 20223 yr O'Shea is 52 years old... safe to say he should have at least 10 good years of coaching left in him... but I'm not going to pretend to know what his future plans are
December 8, 20223 yr Buck only signed a one year extension, which is very interesting to me. He'd ultimately like to stay in or around Winnipeg, because of his family. I'm curious if (when) Dickenson gets tossed in The Gap, if Buck is the next head guy there. Close to home for his family, but gets to take the next step. He made abundantly clear in Our Man Tait's piece that he wants to be a HC, whether that's in the CFL or elsewhere.

As repugnant as it sounds, if the Riders clear the decks and hire a competent GM that Buck respects, he’d have the opportunity to do what KW and MOS did here. The only succession plan I can see in Winnipeg is Jordan Younger taking over once Richie decides to hang them up.
December 8, 20223 yr Yeah, honestly, I have no clue what we do if Buck leaves....no idea who's next in line. Costello??

If it's next season, Lapo seems like the most likely candidate (as much consternation as that may cause around here). But Kevin Bourgoin seems to be following the Buck path of moving through our offensive coaching ranks.

December 9, 20223 yr I don’t think Buck only being a year is anything of note. I’m pretty sure SOP has always been assistants for single year contracts.
December 9, 20223 yr I'm curious about Walters. Normally they re up him at the same time as Osh and keep him one year ahead (just in case...) but no word on that yet.

December 9, 20223 yr Walters has said it was OShea first and his contract later. Did'y seemed worried about it.
