At the end of the day, dropped passes/dropped pics etc etc. They were 1 play away from winning. To me, that doesn't scream the Bombers beat the crap out of them. That was my point. The game for all the missed opportunities etc was very close right down to the last second.

Wasn't that play to tie? They were down 7.  I agree the Bombers didn't beat them down but they handled them effectively all 3 games.

I noticed the same thing in the loss to leo's.....As much as he wanted to see Dru Brown get playing time, I could see on Zack's face that he really wanted to be out there...It's the nature of the guy...a true winner

For sure. My toddler woke up and watched the last quarter with me. She kept asking who that grumpy guy was whenever they showed ZC on the sideline. Had to explain that he really wanted to play but the coaches wouldn't let him. Haha

I love getting Darby back but this is pretty bad in terms of having to give up an asset at a spot we’re razor thin at just to get a guy that’s been on the practice roster pretty much all year.

I wonder how beat up Rutledge is.

Hope it doesn't mean Rutledge is out long-term.  Best case scenario it means that Jeffcoat will be back soon and they like the new guy from the Riders.

Some people are misinterpreting what Baily does on this team... he does get targets... he makes clutch catches... he does make very difficult contested catches... he does all the little things really well (which has been discussed ad nauseum).... I don't think he disappears at all, just maybe on the stats sheet... the only thing Baily hasn't done this year is put up monster stats... but is there a better receiver than Baily at making contested 12 yard catches on a scramble play on 2nd and long?... I want him on the field all day on game day.

I get what Bailey does on the team. You need someone to do the dirty work at receiver. He scraps for extra yards and is a high energy guy.

I just also think that the reason he is always making contested catches is that he isn't great at getting open and separating from the DB. In the end it doesn't matter too much if he makes the catch.  He's never put up monster stats even when he was playing in a different spot last year. That's fine, not everyone can take over a game but it is what it is.

    Yup, what a whiny loser

Did anyone catch the pregame interview they spliced in during the game where Dave discussed going with Maier over Bo? Said "I" can win with either guy at QB.

Can you imaging OSH ever saying that "I" when talking about the team winning a game? He barely includes himself in "we" when talking about a win and gives all the credit to the players and coaches around him.

They listed McRae as the starting slotback but hopefully they'll mix in Harrison. McRae doesn't bring anything different to the offence from what Demski already does, and ZC could use a big target over the middle.

Like I said. McRae doesn't bring anything different to the offense from Demski. 100+ yards from scrimmage and a TD! Whoops.

Looking forward to finally seeing Rene on the roster...wondering if he will get any defensive snaps....sucks about Ellingson but may as well heal him up...now lets actually throw the ball at Harrison and see what that big body has out there

You know how you get mentally tougher?  You have a bad game and learn from it.  You have a bad game and realize that your team mates are still behind you.  You learn that you're never going to be perfect and that you don't have to be.  And you learn that every other player on the team screws up too, many times in a game, so the loss is never just on you.  Those are the things that one learns in order to be mentally tough.  Oh, and the other thing that you learn is to ignore the chattering masses who have zero clue of what they are talking about.

Exactly. He's already shown mental toughness coming back from being benched last year to win the starting gig this year. Kicked a game winner, week 1. Missed a few kicks at the end of the BC game and bounced back to kick lights out for a few weeks. Kid will be alright.

  9. ZC needs to take care of the ball and not fumble like that. Just handed it to the defence.

Leggz needs to make that kick but **** happens.

Routledge needs to line up onside (I think the LOS was wrong and he wasn't offside but what can you do)

O-line had their worst game in years.

Defence limited the Als on the scoreboard but didn't make any big plays to swing the game.

Team looked tired and checked out before the bye week.

And after that did they get blown out? No, they lost by 3 in OT. In August. Against a team not in their division.

Bad game all around. Maybe a loss is better than a cheap win to refocus and piss off the team.

    It will be ok.

Rourke is good, for sure...nobody in their right mind is questioning that. But the last time everyone was losing their **** about how good he is, we went and made him look pretty average. So let's just pump the breaks on calling him Doug Flutie 2.0 awhile. Calgary isn't a fantastic team, by any means, but they should provide the second best test for him, after us. Curious to see how these Leo/Stamps games go.....

Exactly this. Also curious to see how BC does when the weather gets cold and they are playing outside.

  11. 1. Woli - has been consistently reliable all season, great to see him jump off the stats page too. On pace for close to his best season.

    2. Brady - seems to have turned the corner is running angry.

    3. Rose/Houston - corners on lock down

HH - Grant - game finishing return TD, but earlier than that had 3 tackles on the first two INTs and the fumble. Only chance the Als had to win to was to take those to the house.

Dunnigan has issues where he has trouble getting the words out sometimes, probably related to his mushy head from all the concussions.

But basically he is awesome simply because of the genuine enthusiasm he brings.

Polished and professional? Not even close. Excited about the game? 100%.

    Exactly this.

Why is no media showing the clip where Marino dove at the ankle of the Ottawa offensive lineman and twisted it even before the garbage on Masoli?!?!? The lineman had his back to him and wasnt even involved in the play. If that isnt intent to injure then im Cody Fajardo's number #1 fan(sorry Suitor).

Ya that's a brutal clip. Hard to argue diving at and wrapping up an oline's shins is anything other than intent to injury. What did he think that he was the ball carrier?

Haven't seen a clip of the play by Boyd on Roberston that Rider fans are so mad at. Anyone have it?

Am I the only one who's underwhelmed?

Neither of these guys have Hall of Fame resumes, imo.

    Reid had two good years.

Not sure what the criteria to make the Bomber HOF are but here's where they rank anyway:

(Reid) ranks seventh on Winnipeg’s all-time rushing yardage list with 4,505 yards, behind Roberts (9,987), Leo Lewis (8,861), Willard Reaves (5,923), Jim Washington (5,736), Gerry James (5,541), and Andrew Harris (5,402).

(Walls) made 47 sacks in 82 regular season games with the club, which puts him in a tie for fourth all-time in team history alongside Elfrid Payton and behind only Tyrone Jones (98), Tony Norman (59), and Doug Brown (52).
