The most glaring thing about the report is the suggestion Edmonton wants to hire a guy to do both the GM/HC job because they’re up against the cap for staff.

Why would O’Shea put himself in that spot? Sure, he gets paid but how would he build himself a staff that can succeed?

No kidding. Would he want to start over from scratch again?

I'm not O'Shea is the type wants to be a GM/HC but what do I know? He seems to like being right in there with the players and GM is one more level removed from that.  GM is a totally different skill set.

  2. Just soaking it all in. Almost hard to believe after so many disappointments over the years.

I'm 36. They had won 2 cups when I was a little kid, but I don't remember anything about that other than watching them on VHS.

2001 I was in high school and thought the good times my dad spoke of were back. Not quite.

2007 I'd just graduate university and was going to the Cup as a grad gift with my dad. Never been more gutted by a loss than that.

2011 didn't think they even had a chance to win and was pretty numb to it.

2019 playoff run to now has been nothing but greatness with this team. Zach has what, 1 loss since he started here?

Agree we're going to be remembering these teams for a long time. Biggie, the Jeffs, Alexander, going to go down as all time greats.

I was a big time Bailey detractor early on in the year. Thought he was a run of the mill just another guy, but I want him to be a Bomber for life.

His heart and leadership are incredible and he’s turned into one hell of a tough receiver as well.

Totally agree. That effort on the TD was something else. Seems to really be coming into his own.

Looks like they are let him (and the OTHER PLAYERS) play with conditions leading up to the game. What a **** up by MLSE

So, what about all the players that missed games this season because the rules were enforced? It's an awful mess and everyone looks terrible. Thanks again, MLSE for being horrible!

Only difference to me is the who is making the decisions. If a player breaks protocol, then its all on them. If the team directs players to do something, the players likely think the team is onside with protocol. Colossal **** up all around though.

  5. Since the team sent MBT to the Raps game and it wasn't a case of a player individually violating protocol the league should punish the team and not the player.

Risk of covid is very low in this situation. MBT is vaxxed, Raps game requires vax. Probably more risk if a player goes to Costco. As long as he tests negative up to the game, should be no issue.

To me it's different than a player skirting the rules, but we'll see what the league thinks.

Really bad look overall if unvaxxed Masoli can play and MBT can't because his team wanted to promote the league.

I swear that I read that teams have to travel together regardless of transport mode and therefore they must all be vaxxed.  No provisions for separate travel allowed.  I have some digging to do.

It's true they have to travel together but only need to vaxxed for flights/trains. So if the whole team was travelling by bus already, and not inter-provincial, I guess they don't all need to be vaxxed. CFL should have made a consistent policy since the way it is could really only benefit the Ontario teams.

Agreed, and quite honestly I think Moore to Duke Williams is more of a push than most would think.

They are very different receivers but Moore did always seem to make plays against the Bombers.  He was the guy that could take a short dump off from CF and make someone miss.

If Harris can't play in the WF, then I wouldn't put him in for the GC even if he's healthy enough, because he'd be so rusty. So why not just shut him down for the year? The whole thing is really odd.

I disagree. Harris came in week 4 this year after well over a year off and showed little rust.  If he can play, you play him. Augustine and Oliveira can be on the roster too if needed.

Adams is great in the locker room ..big leader of the team not just recievers.

He's the grit guy...gives the offence attitude and his play/role is what's giving Demski and Bailey space...he's a threat and needs to be accounted for..and Lawler gets benefit of that...tho he is a top tier receiver regardless anyway...

Also he is always blocking his ass off and doing all the things right which sets the standard and example here...and he will be key in playoffs....again

Agree totally. As the 4th option out there he's a great fit. Always needs to be accounted for because he can score long TDs. Blocks well. Gets under the skin of the defence.

There was a story in the Freep after the first bye week (Sept 27) that 98% of the team had at least one dose and 88% were double.

So we are probably at least at 98% or will be within the next week. Hopefully the remaining 3% have gotten it because you are not getting paid in the playoffs, travelling or not, if you aren't vaccinated.

Thanks. Hopefully the remaining ones would now get it (should be just enough time now before the west final and cup), or at least is nobody too important.

Maybe the most under rated bomber of the last 20 years, gavin walls. He didnt have the 10 year career to get to the hof sack level but for 5 years he was some thing special.

For games, Id submit a 3 game series. The year is 2000, the enemy is the montreal alouettes.   Montreal was a contender, a 12 win team that year. We had been stuck in the dark ages for far too long. But coach Ritchie and his guys showed what was to come.  3 regular season games against the als. We lose by 2. We win by 3, we lose by 6 then we lost by 11 in the east final. We also played them in the pre season and lost 38-22.

4 games and us being a hungry team on the come up made for bad blood. A LOT of bad blood. We fought and clawed, constantly on the verge of play off elimination that year. Starting out 1-3-1. We finished 7-10-1 OT, and toronto finished 7-10-1. But we lost an over time game to break the tie in the standings and go back to the play offs .

I firmly believe that these games with the Als are what steeled our core and prepared us for the 2001 run.

In the week 11 (I think not sure) match up I remember it being back and forth, close down to the wire. Montreal was deep in our zone and went for it on 3rd and goal. Lamar mcgriggs hurried AC who threw incomplete. And was flagged for RTP. The call was horrible and the fans erupted. We ended up getting flagged for throwing junk onto the field as well. But we went on to win and the crowd reaction was as if we had won a play off game.

Dont have any links to the other games, but here is the east final.

In the early 2ks I hated the als much more than the riders. That rivalry was pretty tough for a while.

I wish there were more from the early 2000s available online. I'd love to watch some of those Khari, Milt, Roberts, Sellers games again.
