Bombers more than held their own with Streveler just hitting stride before getting sat down. Starting D was fast and effective. The rest pretty meh with not a lot to go on due to very poor qb play.
Sheahan’s normal punting was pretty good… too bad our ST coach was allowed to go rogue all last year.
For all the talk about a renewed focus on discipline, Riders still look have have d-bag vibe to them.
-
The second half has devolved into what I usually assume preseason games are like. Raw rookie qb’s dazed and confused and all the vets sitting, leaving the depth and lower tier rookies looking kinda lost.
-
Team speed on defence seems way up. I know it’s only preseason but we got some fast looking newcomers showing the goods today.

nah....this concussion is fiction created by a QB desperately trying to justify a playoff melt down that could kill his NFL dream.
Chad Kelly took John Hodge for a ride and made him look like a gullible idiot. Elsewhere on 3dn Dinwiddie told Dunk he heard about the concussion from his wife, who only saw on their site, and “who is as bad for reading 3dn as he is”. Hahhahahahaha what a backhand to them. Chad Kelly himself on cfl.ca “I’ve moved on from that game, I’ve even worked out twice”. Wow some serious powers of recovery who had an out of body concussion experience right after stinking out the stadium. Newsflash Chad, that feeling was utter humiliation, not a concussion 🙄

I wonder if its a case of not thinking they could beat Winnipeg with Dukes. If they had to pull Kelly for a concussion in a playoff game then it becomes a league doctors thing and likely he wouldn't have got clearance to play in the Grey Cup.
That actually makes it so much worse on the part of the team… don’t report a concussion so they can put that player back on the field? That could have been a Tua Tagovailoa/Miami Dolphins level fiasco. Ridiculous.

I don’t think anyone should take much issue with the Riders getting two awards for activities off the football field. One is Lenius who goes to schools to promote mental health awareness, the other is Lauther who planned a large Rider event in Phoenix which raised $20,000 for KidSport. Really nothing to be outraged over.
Get outta here with your calm and well-reasoned thoughts! Those two Riders did- well, pretty cool things. Whatever.

yeah...all the aspects going into this...the loss last year.....to a team that is basically 98% all back....all the BC...Toronto yackity yack all yr long....I can actually sense a real drubbing about to happen
Throw in the nauseating amount of pro-Montreal hype and all these media bozos ready to hand the Als the Grey Cup… whooo boy a proper trip behind the woodshed is in order.

I don't agree. It was changes like Alexander to safety and nick Taylor coming in that really solidified the secondary which allowed the defense to become one that could carry a team through anything.
Jeff Hecht getting the hook for BA, plus using Taylor and Maston completely transformed the back end… that said we still needed a qb with Nichols out and Strev on one leg. McGuire wasn’t taking us to the promised land by himself so Zach was also a vital ingredient to the cup run. It can be both.
-
That 2016 winning streak with Nichols as QB1 was awesome. Guy could run, lots of zip on the ball and played with an urgency that the offense bought into.

Yup, and if Kelly gets a trophy on Thursday because voters are dumb, that's fine. They've done that kind of thing before (hello Chris Van Zeyl) so it won't surprise me.
Brady will show them again on Sunday, who the real MOP is.
Brady deserves the MOP award, not even close and his closest competition is Collaros who wasn’t eligible because of award rules. If Kelly gets it, it will be insulting and a joke… but the silver lining is we know how our guys play with a chip on the shoulder.

Congrats to @Noeller @BigBlueFanatic @gmcyvr for picking the Argos loss correctly last week.
PS @Rich is there supposed to be a poll?
Nah no big deal just a quiet prayer to the football gods lol

3downnation adding some salt to the ice.
If you’re jealous of West Coast living, just say that. But can we please leave the low-hanging cold weather fruit on the vine the next time the Lions hit the road in the playoffs?
JC Abbott… so salty lol. He actually wrote mostly pointing out deficiencies of BC’s team, and then for one paragraph couldn’t help himself. Some A-grade whining.

Argos might be 16 and 2 but they lost to us so to say they are one of the best all time is a reach... huge reach
Softest schedule, pathetic divisional competition and absolute minimal games vs the other top tier teams. Huge reach is being polite.

Offence came back to life with Dru Brown on the field. If he played the 2nd quarter it would be real ugly for Calgary.

Why u have to assume or say it triggers old people...?? Seems like an odd statement when u don't know the age of people u are targeting
Define old too
Actually meant to quote sf27 who we definitely know is of advanced years. For a guy who screams keep politics out of he he’s the first to point token gender hire on Beirness. Is he right? Probably but be consistent if you don’t want others bringing politics into football threads
Anyway I’m good and going back to football. Wishing everyone an enjoyable rest of the evening.

You're the one actually triggered. You have a choice. If you don't like the conversation or the opinions then skip ahead & don't read it.
I do have a choice, and I chose to say something. Don’t like it? Skip ahead.
I can’t stand Beirness either, to be honest. Every choice you and Booch mentioned I would absolutely pick over her.

Yeah...she was definitely an equality...inclusion hire...she's horrible...Sarah would been better or that girl who used to do the weekly CFL show...
Yeah...there are better options they could have chosen....she has no clue really...and her attempts at humour have grown old....verrrry old
Jesus she’s obviously being directed to be the goofball… too bad she triggers the old guys. Can we go back to arguing about roster management please.

Could see Brady taking inventory and nodding good to go just before they went to commercial

Haha in an alternate universe Ballsy would have in-game accused Sergio of double dipping with a second contract, posing as this Garcia fellow, and shame on the Bombers for falling for it!
