  2. Chisari is a guy who would fit here. Has tailback skills. Showed really well in the 1 on 1's vs LB's/DB's. He'd be a guy the D would have to count, not like a Jackson or these FB's who can't move. Would be up gaining the blocking skills and special teams. Between him, Augustine, the receivers and a 6th OL you'd think you'd have any "fullback" reps covered in terms of bringing in extra blockers to backfield or edge.

  3. Humble and practical guy, wants to be involved in football after his playing days are done, paying close attention and rubbing shoulders with those that can help him get there is smart. Same can be said for Jake and Willie, projecting past their retirement date looking for future opportunities and getting involved. That's how it's done.

  4. I suspect people are just mad thr Bombers were able to retain him.

  5. dude is really well spoken and just seems like a good dude.... during the pandemic, the Bombers re-aired the '19 GC online and had various players doing a "watch along", and Paddy and Jake together were brilliant during the re-broadcast. So much fun... I'd pay folding money to re-watch games with the Bombers in their theatre-style meeting rooms.

  6. Special game time: high noon TSN3 The story: first of back-to-backs, this is the “game in hand” the Jets have over Colorado and Dallas, as they try to jump from 3rd back to 1st in the Central. Isles are 4 points out of a playoff spot.

  7. Slow news day Isn't it funny that after people on here mentioned the ticats had a bigger offer than BC after that other article was released....a week later this one comes out? Sup Dunk? An article about the Bombers dominance for the past decade would be sweet! Thanks!

  9. Connor is definitely not playing well. He scores at times so it kind of glosses over his play but he really hasn’t been great since the return from injury

  10. Put up terrible numbers for speed and agility. Doubt he plays offense in the CFL. Better be good at special teams.

  11. Hladik just put up 22 reps on the bench, that is pretty good for a fullback. He had more reps than some Dlinemen.

  21. They better be pissed off after that defeat in Jersey. They played like dog **** and didn't even break the 20 shot barrier. Dictate play and make smarter decisions. And get more pucks on net. 1st in central is up for grabs.

We went to the Childrens Museum a few weekends ago with other couples and children and outside of the Forks area was still sketchy. Homeless camps and questionable people wandering around that I wouldn't feel safe. Within the Forks it was very busy and a nice mix of all ages and types of people. The food court is really good at the Forks , above average offerings and it's a decent atmosphere. Was only accosted by one methed out dude but thankfully he wasn't aggressive. Talking with the other parents they hadn't been to the Forks in a long while because of the safety concerns from the frequent attacks and were all perhaps reconsidering since this visit wasn't all that terrible. The next day I get sent this link: https://globalnews.ca/news/10354158/teens-arrested-charged-altercation-security-forks-market-winnipeg-police/ Missed the incident by only 30 minutes, but once again re-affirmed why the area sucks and even more reason why I won't be bringing my family back at the Forks anytime soon. As for your comment, I have several friends and even myself at one point who had moved away and then either misremember Winnipeg or see it through nostalgia-glasses... but they all romanticize coming back to the Peg. Usually it goes away after coming back for a few weeks and the honeymoon period wears off. Fishing at the Forks in theory makes perfect sense... unfortunately the more likely result will be trying it out and getting tired of always looking over your shoulder and never being able to relax and you ending up with everyone else going to lockport , Selkirk, or Gimli where you can relax and have a nice safe and peaceful fishing experience.

That would be an extreme exaggeration. A more accurate description would be "after many years of nothing, the area is slowly seeing some movement in development". The only areas that are booming are the burbs closer to the perimeter where a crap tonne of development is still being done and I have no idea who are buying up all those condos and townhouses.

  24. Brady and Adeboboye are both powerful runners. Chris-Ike I think is more similar to Thomas Bertrand-Hudon from the same school. Didn't test as well but played more and had low-end college numbers. Drafted in the 4th round. Played in every game as a backup RB, fullback and special teams guy for Sask. If we could get Chris-Ike in the 3rd or 4th I think that would be a good add to fill that type of role for us. The fullback should ideally be a really really good special teams player and maybe Chris-Ike could be that with those testing numbers. 3rd or 4th round is perfect for that type of player I'm just not sure he will last. I think Herzog is different and more of an actual RB. Should have a lot of carries in preseason to see what he is whoever drafts him!

  26. Could well be. I wouldn’t chase either though. Especially in this draft and with our roster. Hladik or oulette might be available in the 5th/6th with their testing numbers too. 5th n later why not. 1/2nd gotta get value 3rd I’d rather us take a guy who is nfl bound on a flier than a flier on a rb. I think we really need a young ol to groom, a front 6 guy would be big, we need a wr, and with starting an ni db another db that can cover WRs and not just kicks would be great. Fb/rb would be a luxury. And who knows maybe we can swing a trade and get a current roster guy. Brady also put up 3000 yards and 22 tds against better competition. Ike put up 700 ish and 2 tds in 5 seasons. Herzog put up 2200 ish and 29 tds. Ike has size, but height can be an issue for RBs. Ike won’t remotely have the power to be a bruising back and will have to be balanced. Brady is the perfect size and build for a power back.

  27. Brady wasn't as fast but he was a lot stronger. 29 reps vs 16 for Chris-Ike (Herzog was dnp), but I think your right, I would think Chris-Ike at least would go in the 2nd round. I would think we'd even be interested vs taking a fullback (neither Hladik or Oulette impressed speed or strength wise)

  28. I think the LB you were referring to was an import player with the Riders who was HIV-positive, knew it and yet had unprotected sex with various local women. I believe he was convicted of ACBH and spent a few years as a guest of Her Majesty's government and then deported.

  29. Nah, Benedet, Adams, Wallace and Hergel are legit NFL prospects. Pretty likely the first two are drafted and potentially fairly early. The NCAA guys at the combine have all tested pretty average to below average. A few of the FCS and D2 guys did ok. Like Nkanu, Washington State. Brutal. If he doesn't dominate the live reps he's going to drop like crazy, not like it matters that much as long as someone drafts you.

  30. Another lber idr their name some pretty heinous domestic abuse stuff. I for sure think there is a precedent, if Kelly’s case ends up at that point. I do think Kelly is a ticking time bomber though. Glory days. Same era the nfl had Alstott. nfl fb useage is up a significant portion of late as well with bigger more athletic guys available at those te/hback positions don’t be surprised to see fb continue to rise. Especially considering the rb by committee that is popular. The linemen are always the best guys to listen to. Tsn needs to learn that lesson.

  32. I mean, it is a pro combine. You would think that the venue would be appropriate. But then last time it was here it was a gong show for the 40 as well. More important factors include the quality and prep of the surface (the big issue last time) and the quality of electronic timing equipment. Though who knows maybe it was just Randy sitting on an old stop watch. But either way, we've got a good chunk of 195-210 pound guys running 5s and some 260-270+ guys running significantly faster. If they are all running under the same conditions, which just has to be the case, it's a pretty big dip in athleticism. Especially when you consider the bigger 260-270 guys are still C grade NFL athletes as well. The other categories have some awful numbers too. How are you gonna do the bench press and only be able to put up 2 reps of 225lbs at 200+ lbs? Like the dude cant do push ups. The first rep in the bench often bounces off the guy as much as any thing in football combines. If you're 6'+ and 220+ running a 5.2 and jumping 24" in the vert you either better be the most talented and cunning football player in history, or better be a holder/snapper. You don’t need to reach for a fullback that’s going to play eight snaps a game. Mos intensifies. I think you can dress a canadian super package/sub guy. Some one who is a TE/Hback/Fb Body type up to an undersized athletic centre or down to a big WR. And have that guy fill a TON of roles. Both goal line packages, fg, kick cover/up back and return etc. But that guy has to have a position that they can sub into for an injury, WR would be the easy one, and they have to really excel on teams. Maybe they are the back up punter/kicker, long snapper, holder etc. The easiest way to get and develop that guy though, is to draft a reasonably athletic Lber. Like we have for the entire time walters has been here. They already have the hit guys and move bodies mind set you need.

  33. They only conducted the bench press and the vertical jump at the Fort Garry, apparently set up on a stage at one end of a ball room.

  34. This sums up how they view the FB position. "The retirement of Miller – he’s now the special-teams coordinator – and the release of Damian Jackson last month also means the team does not have a fullback on their roster. That said, it’s not necessarily an urgent area of need. The Blue Bombers often use a sixth offensive lineman in short-yardage situations and could also feature a bigger-bodied receiver in fullback-type sets, too, if need be. “I would believe that as a group – Buck and his group but also JY (Jordan Younger, defensive coordinator) and the defensive staff – they’re always able to fit the pieces together. Do you ‘need’ a fullback? I don’t know. Would you like one? Sure,” said O’Shea. “We all have our philosophies on that,” added Walters. “If you dress a seventh O-lineman, is he athletic enough to handle that? Sure. Can a bigger receiver do that? Maybe. You don’t need to reach for a fullback that’s going to play eight snaps a game. “But we obviously don’t have one on our roster and Marty and Buck would sure like to have one. We won’t just grab one at No. 8 (Winnipeg’s pick in the first round) because we don’t have one on the roster. It’s certainly a position group we’ll watch and there are some interesting guys here, two or three fullbacks here and a couple bigger tailbacks we’ve identified.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/03/20/cfl-combine-fyi/

  35. The live feed on the CFL website showed they had plenty of room at the soccer facility. Didn't appear to be an issue at all.

  36. To be fair: 2019 - Rookie Season 2020 - Season Cancelled 2021 - Played shortened season, Suspended 2022 - Sat out season 2023 - First year back So he's essentially played less than 3 seasons, each of which he had come back from a break. Should be interesting to see if he can finally get his footing.

  39. Wasn't Osh who made any comment about how we will draft. It was Walters. He stated that "our kind of guy" is one that is physical, tough, and loves to play the game. I see nothing wrong with any of that being a prerequisite for any of our draft picks. If you want to attribute it to Osh, and move the goal posts on what was said have at it though, I don't see Walters as a guy who is leaving talent on the board at the draft. Yea, he had a rough draft last year but so did every other GM. It was an awful draft year. Winnipeg is also happy that BC lost out on the bidding for BO's services. I guess this is a win win....actually nope...the Lions lost and are apparently giddy about it.
